Y/n's POV

We were driving towards Horaud heading towards another labyrinth that papa had been to before. Shea and I were outside the car riding the motorcycles that papa had made. Shea and I were driving faster than the car. "Yahoo! This rules!" Shea cheered. I smiled as I looked over at her as I matched her speed. "Vroom, vroom, vroom!" Shea continued. I heard papa start to drive faster in the car before Shea and I took off, going faster than before to avoid papa trying to ram Shea. Shea and I laughed as papa continued to drive faster. "Watch this Y/n." Shea said. I turned to look, seeing Shea steady the bike before climbing up onto the seat and standing on it. "Woah, that's amazing, Shea." I said, clapping for her. Shea climbed back down onto the bike before revving the engine. "Yahoo!" Shea cheered again. We were coming up to the entrance to Horaud as we slowed down to get off the bikes. Once we were off the bikes and everyone was out of the car, papa stored the car and bikes before we headed into town. Myu was getting a ride on papa's shoulders as we walked through town. Papa looked around before losing his smile as he looked at the ground. "Papa? Is something wrong?" Myu asked.

"No, I'm fine. I was just thinking about the past." Papa said. We headed to the adventurer's guild in town before heading to the guild leader's office to talk with him. We entered his office and stood by the door as papa spoke up. "You the guild leader?" Papa asked.

"Yes, indeed, I am. The name is Loa Bawavis." Loa said, introducing himself.

"Here we got a letter for you from the adventurer's guild leader in Fuhren." Papa said, handing Loa the letter.

"Thank you." Loa said, taking the letter. He opened it before looking over the letter and reading some of it. "Oh, it seems to be an introduction of sorts. Hm... It sounds like you folks went on quite the rampage." Loa said.

"There was some structural damage." Papa said.

"Hard to believe I've never heard of a group that could destroy an army of 60000 and devastating an entire criminal underground until now. But I've never known Ilwa to lie on another's behalf." Loa said. I heard someone running down the hall before the door behind Loa burst open without anyone being there. Something faded before a person on the ground was there. "Urgent message! There's a demon in the labyrinth!" The person said.

"And just who the hell are you?" Loa asked.

"Hm..." Papa hummed.

"Nagumo, do you know this man?" Loa asked.

"Wait, Nagumo... is that really you?" The person asked.

"You still gotta burst into a room to be noticed, eh Endou?" Papa asked.

"Well, it would seem that you two know each other, but I still don't know you. Wait... weren't you with the hero party that came through earlier?" Loa asked.

"I'm Endou, uh... Are you really Nagumo? I'm sorry, you seem different is all. Like your appearance and stuff." Endou said.

"Yeah, well, I clawed my way up from the pits of hell, so of course I changed a bit." Papa explained.

"Changed a bit? More like a lot. But you're really here. You're alive, I can't believe it." Endou said, looking at the floor. He gasped before rushing over to papa. "Wait, are you telling me you were strong enough to get through the whole labyrinth alone?" Endou asked.

"Pretty much, but I had some help along the way, too." Papa said, glancing at me. I smiled and thought about all the fights that we went through and all the monsters I learned to change into because of papa. "Then you have to help me. We need to go to the labyrinth now! They're all gonna die down there!" Endou shouted.

"Huh?" Papa hummed.

"Everyone is going to die." Endou said. He started explaining about what happened in the labyrinth and how the number of monsters weren't showing up as much. He continued on about how they found monster blood before pointing out that whatever killed the monsters hid its tracks before running into the demon that was there. There was also something that was healing the monsters before mentioning what he was told to do by one of papa's friends. "I promise." Endou finished. Myu and I were sharing a snack that papa had bought for us while Endou was telling us what happened. "What the hell is up with these kids!" Endou shouted. Myu started to cry before turning to papa and hugging him. "And what gives you the right to just yell at my daughter like that, huh? I'll freaking kill you." Papa threatened. Endou jumped before grabbing Loa's arm. "Well, well... he's really a papa now." Mama said.

"He didn't even hesitate to call her his daughter, huh." Shea added.

"But the true test of his fatherhood will be letting her go." Tio finished. I giggled as I looked at mama and the others while papa comforted Myu. "I ran to captain Meld to tell him about the demon as quickly as I could, but..." Endou continued. He continued telling us what happened in the dungeon before mentioning how a creature followed him to Meld. The creature that followed him easily took out a couple of knights before Meld told him to go to the adventurer's guild. "All I can do is survive and send messages. Pathetic." Endou said.

"I don't think that's pathetic. It's important to be able to survive and send messages. Otherwise, we wouldn't know about this demon." I said. Endou looked at me, stunned by my statement. "A demon, huh?" Papa asked.

"Listen Nagumo, if what Ilwa says of you is true then I have a formal request I'd like to make." Loa started.

"I think I've got some idea of what that might be." Papa said.

"Nagumo, they're your friends. You'd do anything to save your friends, right?" Endou asked.

"They're your friends, not mine." Papa answered. Endou looked at papa shocked to hear papa not thinking of his old classmates as friends. "Wha..." Endou started.

"I'll give it to you straight. As far as I'm concerned, you guys are strangers. We're from the same world, but that's it. Nothing more." Papa explained.

"What?" Endou asked. Endou looked at me before I looked away since I knew about what happened to papa because of one of his so-called friends. Papa got up and started leaving while we followed behind him, leaving Loa and Endou in the office. We started leaving the guild before Endou caught up to us and knelt down on the floor. "Nagumo, I beg you. Help them. They need you." Endou said.

"My papa and big sisters are strong. He can save them no problem." Myu said, walking up to us and holding papa's sleeve while holding my hand.

"Are you sure you don't want to?" Shea asked.

"It would be simple for one like yourself." Tio added.

"The decision is yours to make. I'll always follow you, no matter what." Mama said. Papa looked at me before I nodded. "Fine, let's go." Papa said. We started heading towards the dungeon with papa leading the way at first before having me take over the lead so he'd save his strength. I used some of the magic and monsters I had collected since we left the labyrinth. We stopped midway through the 65th floor labyrinth before papa used his Pile Bunker to make a hole leading to the floors below. Papa jumped into the hole before mama and I followed him. When we reached the bottom, papa was waiting there. He caught mama while I landed next to him. "Kind of nice to see you two are getting along." Papa said.
