Y/n's POV

After traveling in the submarine that papa had made for a while, we headed back through The Gruen Desert, stopping in Ankaji for the night since we had some time to rest. After spending the night resting, gathering supplies and a few other little tasks, we headed to bed before getting up early the next day to continue our journey back to the Sea of Trees. Papa and the other girls were riding in Brize while I was on my bike riding beside them in case papa had to talk to me. As we were driving along the road, papa came to a sudden stop as I turned my bike to slow down as well. I looked at papa before seeing him pointing down the hill we were next to. As I turned to look down the hill, I saw a barrier of magic up with some people standing around it. "What's going on?" I asked, looking at the people. Papa's muffled voice was coming through Brize, but I couldn't full make out what he was saying. As I tried to listen to papa's voice better, he started Brize before driving down the hill.

I smiled before following him as I used the storage ring that papa had given me to pull out the rifle I used. I steadied the bike under myself as I aimed down my rifle's sights, shooting one bandit after another. The bandits were panicking as they looked at their allies' bodies on the ground after I had shot them. One turned to see us coming down the hill before papa used Brize's front mounted gun to shoot and kill him. We started taking out one bandit after another as we continued down the hill. We came to a stop above the caravan and bandits. Kaori jumped out of Brize, rushing towards the wounded people near the caravan while the rest of us dealt with the bandits. I stepped up next to papa shooting another before I had to reload my rifle. "You've gotten better with that. Maybe it's time I look at upgrading it." Papa suggested.

"But I like how it is right now." I said, taking one last shot with it.

"I know, but if I upgrade it, it'll have more firepower, and I could probably even increase the magazine size." Papa said. I thought about it for a moment since more firepower sounded nice, but the rifle was perfect for me at that moment. I sighed before tossing it to papa. "Fine, I'll let you do it, but I need it back soon." I said. Papa laughed before patting my head with his free hand. "Course, I won't take long," Papa said. We walked over to the caravan and started helping Kaori with healing those who were wounded. While we were working on the caravan's injured, I saw papa working on my rifle before we moved everyone off the road allowing them to rest. I saw Kaori talking with someone who she seemed to know before papa walked up next to me. "Here you go. Here's what this thing can shoot 20 of now." Papa said. He handed me my rifle back along with a set of new magazines and bullets that were longer than before, but also slimmer and bigger than before. "Why do the bullets look different?" I asked, looking at them.

"They're a higher caliber. Basically, it's a bigger bullet, but has more power when it's shot. You'll have to test it out later." Papa said. I nodded as I stored everything in my storage ring. Papa walked over to Kaori and the girl she was talking with while I stayed back. As papa talked with Kaori, it seemed like the girl that Kaori was talking with also knew papa. I saw as papa said something before the new girl started crying. "What's Hajime up to?" Mama asked, walking over to me.

"Papa's making another girl cry, but I don't know why." I answered, looking at them, confused. The girl eventually stopped crying before I saw Kaori gasp. Papa, Kaori, and the new girl walked over to us before we climbed into Brize. Papa made me climb in since something had happened and I needed to hear about it. Kaori introduced the new girl as Princess Liliana S. B. Heiligh. Princess Liliana explained that the people of the castle were changing and acting differently than normal. After the people of the castle were changed, the knights also had apparently started changing, just like the people in the castle. She also told us how miss Aiko was taken by someone from a place called "The Divine Mountain." After Aiko was kidnapped, Princess Liliana came looking for Kaori and papa. Papa continued driving into the night as he started thinking. "Well, I guess the first thing I need to do is save my teacher." Papa said.

"You would do that?" Princess Lili asked.

"Don't get too excited. I'm not looking to save the kingdom, but for her sake? Yeah, I'll do it." Papa answered.

"For her but..." Princess Lili started.

"I can't just leave her in this mess if I'm the reason she got kidnapped. She deserves better than that from me. 'Course, if somebody was to get in my way, like maybe the person who's responsible for all this, I'd have no choice but to tear whoever it is apart." Papa said. Princess Lili smiled as she looked towards papa. "Well then, I'll just hope to they decide to get in your way. I'm so happy I found you when I did, Nagumo." Princess Lili said. I smiled, ready to get into another fight and test my new rifle, but also since Princess Lili seemed happy.

"As it happens, the Divine Mountain's also one of the great labyrinths. I wonder what kind of Age of God's magic I can get there." Papa said.

"Hajime, you're awesome." Mama commented.

"Yeah. No kidding, I love when he gets that devious look on his face. It makes my heart do silly things." Shea added. Kaori covered my ears as I heard Tio's muffled voice. "Seriously Tio! Y/n's still just a little kid," Kaori scolded. As we got near the kingdom, Papa stopped Brize as we all climbed out. He split us up into two teams for the moment. Papa and I were going to go save miss Aiko while the rest went with Lili to save the castle and people who weren't affected. Papa and I were standing outside a building while I was keeping watch with my rifle. "Nagumo, please." Aiko said.

"Yeah, just give me a second." Papa answered. I heard Aiko scream before I lowered my rifle to look at him. He shrugged before opening the wall with Transmute. I could hear Aiko talking about her being his teacher and things like before I sighed and used Aerodynamics to lower myself to where papa made a hole in the wall. Papa explained everything to Aiko while I stayed focused on keeping an eye out for trouble. As I was keeping watch, the sound of something shattering filled the air. I looked towards where I heard the sound come from, seeing magic fade from around the castle town. "Well, this is interesting timing. Might actually work out in our favor, so I won't complain," Papa said.

"The barrier around the castle town is gone." I confirmed, looking at the town through a scope that papa had made.

"What's going on? And how are you up here Y/n?" Aiko asked.

"I'm using a skill that I got from papa." I answered.

"That can wait until later. Right now, the demons are attacking. What you just heard was the barrier around the capitol being shattered." Papa explained.

"The demons are attacking?!" Aiko shouted.

"That's right. The Heiligh kingdom's being invaded as we speak." Papa answered. I pulled away from my scope before noticing another person in the air. "Papa!" I shouted, using Quick Step to get out of the way. I saw a woman in the air wearing some armor and carrying two swords, one in each of her hands. Papa was higher in the air after escaping, so I climbed up to him with Aerodynamics. "That looks like Disintegration." Papa commented.

"Percisely." Someone said. We turned towards the woman who was in the air with us. "Irregular. Monster. My name is Noint and as god's apostle, it is my task to remove unnecessary pieces from the board." Noint said. Two white feather wings unfolded from behind her.
