Y/n's POV
After she finished explaining what the item does, Papa just stared at it for a moment as the woman just looked at him. Mama walked up to him and stood next to him. "If you are able to acquire all the ancient magic and are driven by an unbreakable willpower, you may travel anywhere your heart desires. I hope that you can live freely in a world where you can choose your own future. May fortune smile upon your path forward, and may you choose its destination. This I pray for from the bottom of my heart." The woman said before turning back into vines and disappearing back into the tree.
"Yue, do you think you can augment spatial magic with evolution magic to travel to a different world?" Papa asked.
"Sorry, but no," Mama answered. She sounded upset with herself since she couldn't do something like that. "It's cool. That's what I figured. It's still worth checking, though. We just need to get the last ancient magic. As soon as we do that, we're all set." Papa answered. Mama seemed upset about something as I walked over and grabbed her hand. "Hey, cheer up. I know you'd do it if it were possible." Papa said. Mama and I looked at him, seeing him smiling at us. "You good?" Papa asked. He walked off before Kouki stopped him. "You know about using concept magic to, you know..." Kouki started.
"To get home? I think it should work. I mean, at the very least, the compass should show us the way." Papa answered. The four who had joined us all seemed a little down. "Um, does that mean... if it works and you find a way back? Sorry, not if, but when you do..." Taniguchi started.
"Everyone relax. Unless there's a maximum number of people I can take, you're all coming home with me, okay?" Papa answered.
"That's amazing. Thank you so much, Nagumo!" Taniguchi said. Papa questioned them about their expressions and voices. They all failed to pass the test and gain the magic except for Shizuku. After they confirmed that three of them didn't pass and Shizuku could use the magic, Papa suggested we head back to Verbergen while asking for Mama to heal him. Each of the girls suggested different ways to help him recover before I rushed over to Papa. "Can I ride on your shoulders?" I asked. Papa chuckled before lifting me onto his shoulders. "Here you go!" Papa called. We left the labyrinth and started heading towards Verbergen. When we got there, the granddaughter of the elder, Altina, had some food prepared for us and started trying to feed Papa while I quickly ate my fill. Shea was upset with Altina as she watched from across the table. "Don't let manners hold you back. Here you go, Master Nagumo," Altina said, trying to feed him. Shea started demanding that Altina give Papa some space. Altina just smirked about it before Shea got up, marched over to Altina and gently slapped her. Altina held her cheek for a moment before spinning around and falling to the floor with her legs spread apart. Kaori covered my eyes as I tried to see what exactly was going on. "Just to be clear, Altina is the granddaughter of the Ulfric elder, is she not?" Shizuku asked.
"So doesn't that mean Shea just slapped the Princess of the Forest then?" Kaori asked.
"Regardless, I'm more distracted by little miss innocent's provocative choice of undergarments." Tio commented.
"All princesses are secret perverts of some kind." Mama answered.
"Does that mean you're one, Mama? Since you used to be a princess?" I asked, looking towards where her voice came from. It was silent for a moment as my words hung in the air. "It's true." Papa whispered. No one else reacted, so I assumed Papa had said that quietly enough for me and Shea to be able to hear. "Are we going to get in trouble?" Shizuku asked. Everyone was a little panicked as they all looked at Altina. Shea kept trying to get Altina to back away from being close to Papa before Kaori finally uncovered my eyes. Papa got up and talked with Shea about whether she felt Mama was a rival before she confirmed she wasn't. Papa also pointed out that Altina was after Shea and wanted to be her friend instead of being after him. Altina mentioned that Shea and she were similar and how she noticed she was getting more attention from Shea whenever she was near Papa. "Since Papa's so strong and could be seen as a king of sorts, does that make me a princess?" I asked.
"Yes. You and Myu are princesses." Mama confirmed. I cheered until my energy finally ran out, and I fell asleep on the table.
