Chapter 35

Y/n's POV

After a few minutes of trying different ways to get Mama out, Papa stood over Mama's coffin thing, just staring at her. "Well, this sucks, but at least they're all alive. And it's nice to see Yue and Tio are back in their bodies. Guess I just have to hope they can make it back on their own. I'm not worried about it." Papa commented. He sat down on the edge of Mama's coffin looking at her. "Hurry back to me, Yue. I'm waiting." Papa said. 

"I can't wait to hear Mama's voice again. Goblin-her was kind of weird." I commented. Papa chuckled before Mama's coffin started glowing. Whatever was covering her faded as Papa reached out and brushed her lips with his fingers before lifting her out of it. "Yue, welcome back." Papa said. I smiled as I looked at them. "Do you feel alright?" Papa asked. 

"Uh-huh. Hajime..." Mama answered.

"Yep. It's me," Papa replied.

"Are you the real Hajime?" Mama asked.

"I understand why you're asking. I've got a pretty good idea of what you've been through. But you'll have to be the one to decide that. Whether this is the real me holding you or just an imposter. You're going to have to make that call. If it's any any consolation, I'm certain I have the real Yue in my arms right now. Because I never want to let go of you right now." Papa said. As they hugged, I noticed another of the coffins glowing and walked over to it. Shea sat up and looked around before clearing her throat to get Mama and Papa's attention. She continued trying, but Mama and Papa didn't notice until Shea was actually coughing. "Shea's awake." I said.

"Geez, it's like nobody even wants me around. I worked so hard to come back to reality. It's like I don't even exist. I was coughing to be polite, but I might as well be a ghost." Shea complained. I walked over to her and started petting her ears. "It's okay. Mama and Papa are weird like that." I commented. Mama and Papa walked over before they started petting her ears as well. "There we go. The bunny ears. A Shea without them is just plain wrong. Bunny ears make the Shea. There is no Shea without bunny ears. In fact, she is the bunny ears." Papa said, trying to cheer her up. Shea puffed her cheek out as she complained about what Papa had said about her. Papa asked what her fake reality was like before Papa explained his. Shea explained that in her fake reality she had met Papa before her people were hunted down and how he protected them. She added that she only had to sit around and let Papa protect her, but her heart was telling her that was wrong. Papa pulled her into a hug after she explained she knew everything was worth it when she fought by Mama and Papa's side. 

Tio was next, talking about how Papa wouldn't punish her in a certain way. She begged Papa to love her in the worst way he could, but stopped when she noticed him staring at her. "Why the long cold stare, Master? Are you simply overwhelmed by my beauty?" Tio questioned. Papa walked over to her and petted her on her head. "I don't even want to know what happened in your ideal world. There's no doubt it'd make the worst of the internet cry in shame. But regardless, welcome back, Tio." Papa commented. 

"Thank you. I'm pleased I could return to you." Tio said. Kaori was the next to get up as she was panicking over something that happened in her dream. "Kaori, you closet pervert." Mama scolded.

"Shut up! I'm not some secret pervert!" Kaori screamed.

"So the good news is everyone on our side made it out. Well, except Y/n never went in, but either way." Papa commented.

"What should we do about the hero party?" Mama asked.

"Well for now. I guess we should see if they can get out on their own." Papa answered.

"How long do you think we should wait?" Mama asked.

"At least long enough for us to take a little break and get something to eat. I could use a little rest after all the magic I spent when pulling myself out of that dumb dream." Papa suggested. We started waiting, and a while went by before everyone agreed it was time to get them up. Another started glowing as Shizuku started waking up. Kaori went over to check on her. Shea and I joined her as Shizuku sat up. "Woah. It's nice to be back, but it's crazy how tired I am," Shizuku commented.

"Well, you got enough sleep. But hey, I'm happy you could join us," Papa said, smiling at her. I saw Shizuku's cheeks redden as she looked away from him and then back at him. "Oh, hey Nagumo, hi. I'm also glad too... as well..." Shizuku replied.

"Let's hear it. What happened in your fake world?" Mama asked.

"Uh, nothing at all. It was just a dream. A normal, boring dream. Trust me, it was so boring you don't want to hear it." Shizuku lied.

"Is that so? Who was in this dream?" Mama asked.

"What? Who... everyone. Everyone, last one of you, was there." Shizuku answered. I smirked, knowing that Papa was there, and she probably enjoyed her dream. Mama walked away while I walked closer to Shizuku. She hung her head, looking away from everyone. "Let me guess, Papa was there, wasn't he?" I asked. Shizuku looked at me, her face crimson red as she tried to quiet me. "How did you..." Shizuku started.

"I'll keep it a secret if you tell me some more info about your dream." I said. Shizuku looked at me for a second before shaking her head. I smirked as I turned around. "Hey Mama..." I started before Shizuku covered my mouth. Mama turned back to look at us while Shizuku explained I was just messing around. She turned us around before uncovering my mouth. "Fine. But only you and no one else gets to know," Shizuku whispered. I nodded in agreement. "I... I was a spoiled pretty princess, and Nagumo was my prince." Shizuku whispered. I smiled before nodding and walking away from her. We moved three coffins, allowing Kaori to save them using disintegration. Papa stepped forward as he looked at the three Kaori had to save. "Amanogawa, Taniguchi. There's no time for reflection. Brace yourselves, shake off the dreams and get focused or none of your hopes will ever come true." Papa said.

"You're right. We're with you." Kouki said. The magic circle in the center glowed before we walked through, entering a weird tree root system. "Something feels a tad ominous." Tio commented.

"Right? Like when we got ambushed in the Great Orcus Labyrinth." Kaori added.

"I feel it too, and there's not even any sign of monsters." Shizuku commented.

"I'm sure there's something awful waiting for us. There's no way we're already in the clear." Papa said. Something started falling from the sky above, which seemed like rain, but there was mana in it. "Yue!" Papa called. 

"Hallowed Ground!" Mama called. Her barrier activated as it turned into a downpour. Slimes started coming down from the roots. "Nagumo, you see this?" Shizuku asked.

"Yeah. They're slimes. My demon eye couldn't even detect them. What kind of stealth magic is this?" Papa asked.

"Nagumo! They're coming out of the ground!" Kouki called. I pulled out the dagger Papa had made me. I imbued it with lightning skills, frying the slimes as they coiled around me. "Papa, something's weird about these slimes." I commented as I killed another. 

"Yeah, I noticed. I'm going to have to wipe Amanogawa and Sakagami's memories later." Papa said. Papa used his weapons to incinerate the roots and slimes before Mama asked to bring down the barrier. "Let's keep it up a little bit longer to be safe." Papa said. Mama released the barrier. As I looked around at everyone before seeing Kouki and Ryutarou looking over at Shizuku and Taniguchi. I rushed over, knocking Amanogawa to the ground before knocking over Ryutarou as well. "So those damn slimes were some kind of horny chemical warfare." Papa commented before restricting Ryutarou and Amanogawa. I let out a sigh as I looked at Taniguchi, making sure she was okay. "Looks like we're the only ones not affected, Y/n," Papa commented.

"Yeah. I'll keep a safe distance to be safe." I said, stepped away from others.
