Y/n's POV

"Yeah, well, I'd like to see you try. Bring it on, puppet god," Papa said. I knew papa was smiling as we stared at Noint. Noint charged at us as I aimed at her before shooting towards her. She deflected my bullets with her swords before slashing towards me. Papa and I jumped back, avoiding her strike. "Y/n, buy me a few seconds. I'll get Tio to come get Aiko so we can deal with her." Papa said.

"You got it." I said, jumping higher into the air. I aimed down the sights of my rifle, putting Noint in the middle before firing the first shot. Noint flew up to dodge my first shot as I tracked her with my sights before firing again. She used her swords to deflect the bullet again as I growl before firing two shots in rapid succession. Noint blocked the first one before using some kind of teleport skill to avoid the second. "Couldn't avoid that second bullet?" I asked, lowering my rifle for a moment.

"I saw no need to block it, so I opted to dodge instead." Noint answered, coldly. I quickly raised my rifle, firing another shot before using Quick Step and Aerodynamics to get behind her and firing another. "That's six shots. Fourteen left." I thought, counting the shots I've taken. Noint blocked the two bullets. The first was with her swords, while her wings blocked the second. I started using the skills faster, activating each one faster than before twelve times. Every time I used that combination of skills, I took a single shot at Noint, hoping one would graze her. She turned the feathers from her wings into blades before launching them at me. The blades were stopped by something else, hitting them from the side. "Looks like you haven't been able to do much to her yet," Papa said, standing next to me in the air.

"Yeah. She's been blocking or dodging every shot." I said, ejecting the empty magazine. I dropped the empty magazine into the storage ring that I had before pulling out a loaded magazine. "How many more rounds?" Papa asked.

"Sixty, including this magazine." I answered. Papa nodded as he started shooting at Noint as well.

"It seems you still have the energy to chat, Irregular, Monster." Noint said. She charged towards us as papa and I took shots at her. She continued blocking our shots with her swords before she tried stabbing papa. Papa moved to the right at the perfect moment avoiding being stabbed. I quickly aimed and fired at Noint as she moved her head back, dodging the bullet by a few inches. I clicked my tongue as I fired again while papa's Cross Bits fired at her from above. Noint blocked our shots again. "You are defending yourselves quite well, considering the extra weight. You are both indeed too strong. Neither of you is fit to be our lord's pawn." Noint mentioned.

"Well, damn, that's a relief. I'd never want to be the kind of guy who's fit to serve that sorry jerk of a god. Sitting up on his throne, crying for attention. Thanks for the compliment." Papa said.

"Agreed." I added.

"If your goal is to anger me, it is fruitless. I have no emotions to manipulate," Noint mentioned.

"Huh? What the hell are you talking about? I'm not trying to piss you off. I'm just being honest." Papa said. Noint said nothing before using her feathers to create a magic circle. "Hellfire Tsunami." Noint said, casting a spell. I moved close to papa as he used Cross Bits protective barrier to block the attack. "We lucked out. This barrier's still a prototype. Looks like my idea to combine creation magic and spacial magic was a good one." Papa said. The sound of music filled the air as I looked around to figure out where it was coming from. "A song? Where's it coming from?" Papa asked.

"No idea." I added, looking around still. Little blue lights started pouring off papa and me as I felt slower and a little weaker. "What are these lights? What's going on, Nagumo?" Aiko asked.

"Magic, that's basically a debuff. Well, we are at their headquarters gotta have something to fight off enemies with." Papa said.

"Must be Ishtar. He is a good pawn and understands his god-given role well. I thank him," Noint said.

"Hey, I was wondering something. Sure you have time to waste on us?" Papa asked.

"Explain yourself." Noint demanded.

"Haven't you looked down lately? At this rate, the kingdom's going to be trashed. Maybe instead you should fight the demons, not spend precious little seconds on us," Papa suggested.

"If that is the outcome, then so be it. Every era must conclude at some point."

"Game over, huh? You know I had a feeling, but Ehit doesn't care about humans much. They're nothing more than playthings to him." Papa asked, clicking his tongue. Noint stayed silent, which meant papa was right about that. "He happened to side with the humans this time by pure chance. Next time? Who's too say. So is the god the demons worship secretly him? Or would it be a stand in? One he controls so he can play both sides?" Papa questioned.

"If you're right, what good would it do you?" Noint asked.

"none. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make a point. Just wanted to verify the stuff I heard from the liberators. Everything with a grain of salt, though. As creepy and weird as you are, they aren't much better." Papa said. Noint seemed pissed about something as papa stopped talking. "You know, if we're such a nuisance, you could just send us back to my world and be done with it." Papa suggested.

"Denied, Irregular." Noint said.

"Mind telling me why?" Papa asked.

"Because my lord does not wish for that. What my lord wishes for is your death alongside this monsters. You overcame everyone's obstacle, gained extraordinary strength and powerful allies, and yet, you will die before reaching your goal. You will, for that is the death, my lord wishes for you. Therefore, I ask you to perish before me. Of course, not before suffering and lamenting your pointless struggles. The best entertainment you can offer, my lord, is despair and regret. So it shall be," Noint answered, gesturing towards me.

"Man, you guys are really pushing what it means to be assholes." I said.

"Y/n!" Aiko complained.

"What? Papa says it all the time." I said. Noint readied another still this time Cross Bit's barrier broke, but protected us from being hit. There was a roar as Tio came flying towards us, using her fire breath to push Noint into the Divine Mountain building. "Master, Y/n. Are you two alright?" Tio asked.

"Hey Tio. Good timing." Papa said. We jumped onto Tio's back as papa ordered for Tio to get Aiko out of here. Tio took off as papa and I turned to face Noint. "You ready, kid?" Papa asked.

"Do you have to ask?" I asked, aiming towards Noint.
