From Mimic to World's strongest daughter

Chapter 33

A/n: Short chapter, not much happens in the episode this is based on.

Y/n's POV

We freed all the slaves before putting Emperor Hoelscher in cuffs and got everyone onto Fernir before taking off and heading towards the Seas of Trees. Cam wanted us to travel towards the Beastman nation Verbergen. "That's the Altena Sea of Trees below. Home of the beastmen. It stretches along the eastern side of the continent. Deep within the forest is Verbergen. The nation of the beastmen. Despite that, the Haulia tribe has been forbidden from entering." Cam explained. 

"Why's that?" Lily asked. 

"The council of elders views our tribe as heretics. They even went so far as to order our wholesale execution once." Cam added.

"What? All of you?" Lily asked.

"It's nothing to worry about. That order has been canceled since we're considered associates of the Boss," Cam answered.

"Oh good. What's the council of elders?" Lily asked.

"It's a governing committee composed of the leaders of each beastman tribe." Cam explained.

"Does that mean it's the highest decision-making council of the nation?" Lily asked.

"It is. If you have any negotiations you want to discuss, you should speak with one of the elders, Ulfric." Cam explained. I sighed, bored that we had nothing to do while flying to Verbergen. "Hey, Hajime Nagumo," Emperor Hoelscher started. Papa looked up at him. "How about you make one of these flying vehicles for the empire?" Hoelscher suggested.

"Are you joking?" Papa asked.

"Don't give me that. It's clear you helped the Haulia with their uprising. No reason you can't help me out." Hoelscher said.

"Not my problem." Papa answered.

"I'll pay you whatever price you ask, or if you want women instead of money. I have a daughter who has just reached marrying age." Hoelscher added. Mama offered to turn him to ash, Shea offered to crush his skull, and Kaori just asked if he was trying to be funny. "Don't put Nagumo in the same scummy category as you." Shizuku added.

"No way! I absolutely won't allow it!" Lily shouted. Everyone looked at her, confused by her sudden confession, before she asked to be ignored. "Come to think of it, you looked quite content when you were dancing with him at the ball." Hoelscher said.

"You are greatly mistaken. There is nothing between me and Nagumo. Right? Please back me up here." Lily asked, looking towards Papa.

"She's right. My imagination can't even stretch that far," Papa said, backing her up.

"I thought Papa and Lily did really well together." I commented. It was quiet for a moment as I saw Mama, Shea and Kaori looking at me upset. I looked away, ignoring the conversation as Papa started talking about the political stuff that Lily might need. "Long story short, Lily doesn't have to marry into your savage family." Papa said, looking at Hoelscher. Everyone was happy for Lily, while I thought that she'd be nice with Papa like Mama and Shea were. "And there you have it. Princess Liliana is back on the market. I can use my clout to help broker a deal if you want," Hoelscher suggested.

"What? Excuse me!" Lily called. Papa confirmed that in exchange for Hoelscher's services that he'd have to give up or make a new plane for him to have. "I don't see any kind of upside for me. All I see are downsides." Papa commented.

"Oh, come on. She's still a princess, isn't she?" Hoelscher reminded.

"Let it go, man. I've already got what I need, and I don't want that." Papa said. I giggled as I saw Lily complaining about being ignored even when she was in the same room. "Be honest with yourself. There's got to be something you want. You're human after all." Hoelscher said. Papa got up, moving behind Shea and Mama before resting his hands on their shoulders. "As you can plainly see, I've already got what I want in my arms. So what's left that I could ask for?" Papa asked. We passed over part of the forest, which had been burned down, as Tio commented on the fact that people shouldn't set a forest on fire. "Yeah, yeah. I'm a monster." Hoelscher commented. We continued our path into the Sea of Trees before finally landing in a spot close to where Verbergen is. Once we landed, the beastmen got off the ship first before running to their families. We all got off the ship before looking around at the trees that Papa had crushed with the ship. Kaori was able to heal the forest with some magic before the people of Verbergen started worshipping Kaori. It was getting late as I held Mama's hand to keep myself from falling asleep standing up. "Need some sleep?" Mama asked.

"Yeah. I used to stay awake whenever I needed to, but being with Papa and everyone, I've adjusted to human standards." I answered. Mama pulled me over to Papa before tapping his shoulder. "What's up, Yue?" Papa asked, looking back at us. 

"Y/n's falling asleep, and she needs someone who can carry her easily." Mama answered. Papa looked at me before nodding and lifting me onto his back. I gently wrapped my arms around his neck before resting my head on his shoulder. "From what I know, there's not much happening, so sleep as long as you want," Papa said.

"Thanks, Papa." I said quickly, falling asleep against his back
