Chapter 41

A/n: So we've reached the end of season 3 and will be moving onto season four when it comes out. So keep an eye out for that eventually.

Y/n's POV

We walked up to the steps leading up to the mansion before the front doors opened, as a man stood in the doorway looking at us. He had sky-blue hair, red eyes, and his presence reminded me of demons. He just looked at us before Papa walked up the steps, entering the mansion while we followed behind him. As we headed inside, a set of doors opened for us between the staircases that led to the second floor. We headed inside, coming to a stop outside another set of doors. Papa looked back at everyone before ordering that we should go. He opened the doors before we stepped into the center of the room. The magic circle to give us the ancient magic activated before I cried out in pain. I could hear Mama and Papa crying out in pain as well, while everything else was muffled. After a few seconds, everything went black.

When I did finally open my eyes again, I saw a ceiling above me and felt something warm on top of me. I looked down, spotting that I was in a bed and covered with a blanket before I heard a door open. To my right, Taniguchi was standing there before smiling as she saw me awake. "Oh, good, you're awake." She said, letting out a sigh of relief. I sat up and looked at her. "How long was I out?" I asked.

"You passed out yesterday, although it was close to night from what I remember, so really you just fell asleep for the night." Taniguchi answered. I nodded and got out of bed before grabbing my clothes and changing into them before following her out to the living room where everyone, but Mama and Papa, were waiting. Eventually Mama and Papa joined us before Sakagami spoke up. "Uh, are you two okay? You look a little dishevelled." Sakagami asked, looking between Mama and Papa.

"Is it really that difficult to figure out?" Taniguchi asked. Sakagami got hit in the head with something from Papa since his eyes lingered a little too long on Mama. "That's the price you pay for leering at Yue," Papa said.

"Come on. I barely looked at her!" Sakagami shouted.

"Feeling jealous? Aren't you just the cutest?" Mama Commented. She leaned over and gave Papa a side hug. "Come on! Do you two really not see how selfish that was? We were sick with worry and all you cared about was banging!" Shea shouted.

"Shea's right. It really worried me to see you like that. Plus, what about Y/n? She passed out like you two did." Kaori pointed out. Mama and Papa looked at me before I just nodded. "She's totally fine. Besides, I doubt that would've taken her out for long." Papa confirmed. 

"Same here. You could've at least let us know that you two were okay. Taniguchi was lucky enough to see Y/n wake up." Shizuku added. Papa started giving the excuse that Mama was the reason he didn't think about it, while Mama did the same, but using Papa as the excuse. Shea complained that acting as if they felt bad was worse. "Let's just drop it. We'd drive ourselves mad to try to get them to care," Kaori commented.

"Now that I've accepted my feelings for him, this is a little more damaging." Shizuku commented. Tio came in and was excited to see that the three of us were okay. Shea apologized to Tio for not telling her sooner before Tio started acting perverted again. "What happened to you three yesterday?" Kaori asked.

"Yeah, the way you three were screaming then lost consciousness, it must've been something serious." Shizuku added.

"Kind of was. And it sure felt like it. In the simplest terms, our minds were overloaded with information." Papa explained.

"Is that what that was? I thought we might be attacked, but didn't want to startle anyone." I commented. Tio was shocked to hear that the three of us could not withstand it before asking if we had knowledge of concept magic. "Spot on, Tio. You are smart for a raving pervert." Mama answered. Kaori asked if we could go back to Japan at any time now before Papa started talking about how the knowledge worked. He started going through each ancient magic that we've learned and how it truly functions, since it was different from how we thought it worked. They were talking about ways to create a magic item that would allow people to traverse worlds. "Do you intend to try and create that item now?" Tio asked.

"Yeah. Laying it out like that helped clear up some things. I can't wait to give it a shot." Papa said.

"Nagumo, do you think it'll take some time to create it? If so, I think I should set out now to find Eri to bring her home with us," Taniguchi asked.

"This shouldn't take us that long. So stay put." Papa answered. Taniguchi nodded before mentioning getting some more rest before mentioning practicing Metamorphosis magic. She asked what the others were going to do after they left the labyrinth before they each said they'd join her in retrieving Eri. "That's amazing, thank you guys. Oh, we should probably discuss Kouki."

"Oh yeah, that guy? Where is her anyway?" Papa asked.

"So you noticed his absence. He's still passed out in one of the other bedrooms. It might take a while before he wakes up." Shizuku confirmed.

"Alright. Not that I really care. We'll cast the spell in the room with the circle. If we're still working when he wakes up, do not let him interfere." Papa ordered. Sakagami questioned about why he'd mess with something like that, but Papa mentioned he just wanted to be safe. "Y/n, we'll need you to," Papa said. I nodded, following them into the back room where we started casting the spell. The spell mostly just required us all to be touching the item that was going to be used as the base of the concept magic while channeling our mana into it. The magic was settling into the stone we were using as the base for our Concept Magic, but Mama's control was overpowering Papa's and my magic. As Papa's willpower took shape as the stone changed in our hands. We opened our eyes looking at each other. "Open a door to the place we most desire." We said. The spell finished as more of our magic was drained before I stumbled back. "Oh God, what happened to them? Are they alright?" Someone called. I blinked as I tried to focus my eyes before seeing Kaori and Shea rushing over. Shea asked Kaori to check us before she moved over to me. "Are you okay? What happened?" Shea asked.

"It's okay. These two are all right. They used up a ton of their mana, though. They only lost consciousness." Kaori confirmed. Shea looked at me as I nodded, sitting down on the ground, exhausted from the use of the Concept Magic. Kaori shared some of her mana with Papa and Mama as they woke up before Papa asked if we did it. "Where's the artifact?" Mama asked. Kaori held it out to them as she mentioned she shared her own mana with them. Papa checked it over before confirming that it the power in it felt like the compass that we had. He stood up before turning the key in the air, revealing that the artifact worked. "We did it. We have an actual way home, guys!" Papa called. The group headed out to the living room as we discussed what we were going to do next. Our plan was for us to stay and recover our mana. Papa asked why Tio and Shea weren't going home, which Tio mentioned using metamorphosis magic with her dragon form, and Shea commented on how she didn't want to see that princess. A while later, we all gathered again, ready to set out for our next journey in gathering our friends again. As we prepared to leave, the lake in front of the mansion turned to ice as a dragon made of ice was formed in front of us. We climbed on and started flying off towards the northwest of the Schnee snow plains.
