Y/n's POV
We were still walking through the ship, looking for the magic circle to teleport us to the end. "Hey, mama. Why do humans hate other races so much?" I asked, looking at her.
"Humans denounce other races because they don't worship the same god. Or at least that's one of the many reasons." Mama said.
"Human are a cruel species. They follow the god Ehit and label anyone a threat if their god deems it." Tio added.
"You saw how humans treat beastmen such as myself. It's hard to determine exactly why humans are so cruel to other races, but they are." Shea noted. I sighed before a few more monsters showed up. The four of us easily defeated the monsters before gathering back together to continue looking for the magic circle. "I don't get it, but all I know is humans aren't the nicest people after seeing these images of the past." I said, looking out at all the ships.
"You're correct." Tio said, walking over to me. Everyone started talking about their experiences with humans and how they were cruel to each of their races. We eventually stumbled upon the magic circle that would teleport us out of the cave filled with ships. We teleported to a small pavilion before looking over and seeing papa carrying Kaori on his back. "Papa!" I cheered. I rushed over to him as he looked at me. "Hey, Y/n. How was it on your end?" Papa asked.
"Mama and the others told me about how cruel humans are. Actually wait, papa and Kaori are human, does that mean papa and Kaori are mean?" I asked, looking between them.
"We all know Kaori is mean." Mama said. Kaori looked at her with a glare. "Come over here and say that to my face, Yue!" Kaori shouted. Papa laughed about it before putting Kaori down as she went over to talk with mama and the other girls. "Y/n, you know Kaori and I are both good people." Papa said. I giggled as I looked at him. "I know. Papa's the best human. Does that mean since I copy papa and mama that I'm a human or a vampire?" I asked.
"Neither. You're still a mimic monster, although you're the strongest daughter in this world." Papa said, patting my head. I giggled before looking at the others. "I guess Kaori isn't too bad either." I said.
"That's good to hear. Now let's go get that ancient magic." Papa said. I nodded before walking over to the magic circle with everyone before the circle activated. "Found it, the power of restoration." Mama said. As the magic circle deactivated, a pillar rose from the floor in front of us. Like in the other labyrinths, a person appeared in front of us. "I warn you, don't cling to that god. Make your own decisions, move forward on your own feet. Only those with a free will shall be happy." The lady said. She vanished as a small token appeared on the pillar. "The proof of conquest." Papa said.
"If my math is right we've got four now. Which means we can take on the labyrinth in the Sea of Trees." Shea said.
"Yes." Mama agreed. Papa walked up to the pillar and grabbed the token. Once he grabbed the token the ground started shaking beneath us. "Oh great, this one's forcing us out, too. Yue, spatial magic." Papa ordered. Mama used her spatial magic to teleport us away from where we were. We ended up on a small platform in the middle of water. "Where the hell are we now?" Papa asked. A giant wave of water came from in front of us. Mama used her magic to create a barrier before we were washed away. Something let out a cry before we looked up, seeing the monster we had fought behind getting split up. "Oh no. We know it's unkillable and can melt stuff, but it can control water too? What are we supposed to do?" Kaori asked.
"This isn't good. Last time we attacked it with fire, but we were in an air pocket then." Papa said. The creature started attacking us as papa mentioned we couldn't use fire magic. "So instead..." Papa started.
"Hajime, you got an idea?" Mama asked.
"There's only one way to use fire underwater. We vaporize that sludge faster than it can regenerate with a barrage of bombs. Maybe we'll get lucky." papa said.
"Do you think that'll work?" Kaori asked.
"Yeah, but I need time. I'll need three minutes, then we'll obliterate that son of a bitch." Papa said.
"Kaori? What's a 'son of a bitch?'" I asked, looking at her, confused by papa's words.
"You really need to stop cursing in front of her, Hajime." Kaori said. I just looked at them, confused, before the creature attacked again. "It's gonna swallow us whole!" Shea shouted.
"If it comes down to it, I'll transform to protect everyone." Tio said.
"Damn it, I need more time." Papa complained.
"Hey! Hajime, my boy! Let me lend you a fin." Someone called. The monster was attacked by a group of fish knocking it back. "Lehman?" Papa asked. I turned to see a yellow fish with what looked like a human's face on it. "Woah, that's a cool fish. Where'd you met it, papa?" I asked, walking over to him.
"Hello missy. The name's Lehman. Your dad and I are old pals. He and that pretty rabbit lady saved me from being stuck in an aquarium." Lehman said.
"That's sounds like papa." I said, smiling at Lehman.
"So let me sure I've got this right. You need three minutes to prep and then you can take out the devourer?" Lehman asked.
"I don't know why you're here or how you heard that, but yes, thanks." Papa said.
"Hey, Shea's here too." Lehman said.
"I didn't expect to run into you, Lehman. What are you doing here?" Shea asked.
"Nothing special, just swimming around like ya do, then I noticed a huge familiar magic power. Then I sensed trouble and rushed in." Lehman explained. "Y/n, I could use some help with this." Papa said. I turned back to papa before kneeling down and channeling that papa needed into the crystal he had summoned. "Done." Papa said, as we finished with the weapons. He launched them at the monster before it hit and stuck to it. "You seemed hungry so... Eat up!" Papa said. The monster filled with something from the weapons before blowing up. Lehman shouted at papa about setting off the explosion without warning him. We ended up in the water before papa summoned the submarine which we climbed into. Mama made sure that I got clean when we used the shower on the ship. She tickled me some when she would touch my sides of just under my arms.
