Chapter 25

Y/n's POV

Noint used her feathers to fire another spell towards papa and me, which we dodged before I aimed at Noint and fired another shot. Noint slashed my bullet with her sword, cutting it in two. "Aw, man." I complained, loading another round. She flew higher into the air before papa opened firing at her with Metzelei (the Gatling gun) trying to hit her in the air. Noint fired her feathers towards him, which he blocked with his bullets. Once the smoke from the feathers and bullets colliding faded, papa and I both fired two shots from Schlagen. Noint blocked our shots with her wings as we used Aerodynamics to get close to her before firing again. As we fired, Noint vanished from in front of us before we turned to see her behind us. "Reload, now." Papa ordered. I nodded and started reloading as Cross Bits went after Noint. Noint ended up cutting two of the Cross bits in half as she charged towards us. "She's really annoying." I complained, aiming at her. I fired another shot towards her as she teleported from side to side to avoid being hit. 

"Agreed." Papa said. Noint teleported behind us as we fired at her again. Papa and I turned to face her, but she swung her swords towards us. Papa blocked with Schlagen while I ducked before firing another shot towards her. Noint flew into the air, dodging my bullet as Papa's Schlagen exploded. The surrounding area filled with smoke until the wind pushed it away. Papa used Limit Break on himself while I did the same, since I still had all of his abilities. Noint flew towards us, raising her sword above her head and trying to cut us as papa and I dodged to the sides. I fire a shot right next to her, but Noint used her teleport to avoid being hit again. Papa and Noint clashed for a moment before he shot at her, forcing her to back off. "Her magic hasn't gone down any." I complained.

"I know. I'm not sure what she's using to keep this up." Papa said. We stared at Noint for a moment before she charged towards us again. Papa and I opened fire on Noint with her, blocking most of our shots while avoiding the rest with her teleportation. She kept swinging her swords around, leaving cuts on our clothing while we only got small cuts on our bodies. Papa and I were out of breath and losing our mana quickly. Noint was floating in front of us, waiting for the best moment to attack. As she was waiting to attack, I was looking at any place that seemed to open for an attack. Papa fired a few more shots from Donner and Schlag as Noint charged towards us. I moved in front of papa blocking her attack with my Schlagen. My Schlagen wasn't cut in half like papa's, but I could feel the force behind her attack. "Create some space!" Papa shouted. I pushed against Noint with all my strength as she swung her other sword, cutting across my chest and papa's. As I looked at Noint, I saw the damage to her swords with were cracking horizontally across them. I heard a laugh from papa as I saw Cross bits surrounding us before firing at Noint. We were hit by the explosion, leaving papa and me breathing hard before I heard a single cough come from Noint.

"We're getting somewhere, but slowly." I said, looking at papa.

"Were you hoping to take all three of us out?" Noint asked. Papa laughed as we stood up. "You freaking kidding me? What do you think you're funny? I ain't dying. You're the last person I'd die with, freak." Papa said. He opened his storage ring before grabbing Chakrams. He threw them towards Noint before pulling out three more. "Here. We're using these." Papa said, sending one in front of me. I smirked before aiming into it. Noint knocked the Chakrams thrown at her away before they moved to her sides. "Oh, is that all you've got left? Out of options so soon?" Noint started before gasping as she saw papa and me aiming into the rings. We started shooting one round after another. Noint looked to her sides before raising her swords and using them to block the bullets. "Cover me." Papa said. I nodded as I saw her swords break and papa throw Bolas to capture her for a moment. Noint increased the power of her Limit Break and started ripping through the binds that Bolas made. Papa laughed as he started charging up Pile Bunker. Once it was charged, papa charged towards Noint, placing the tip of Pile Bunker near her core before firing it through her. The stake blew a hole through Noint's stomach area and tore off one of her wings. 

I let out a sigh as papa and Noint stood in the air looking at each other as I jumped up to him. "Not bad, Irregular. You too, monster." Noint said, looking at us. The light in Noint's eyes faded as her body fell to the ground. "Call that Irregular's Fang. I hope she was impressed by it at least." Papa said.

"Doubt anyone wouldn't be." I commented. As we were standing there, the sound of an explosion rang out. We looked up, seeing a cloud of smoke rising from the mountains nearby. "Oh, boy. Let's go check out what happened," Papa said. I nodded and stored my Schlagen before following him towards the smoke. Once we were close enough, we found the church had been blown up and was in ruins. "What the hell happened here?" Papa asked. Tio and Aiko were standing in front of where the church entrance would've been. "Master, if Kaori or Yue hear Y/n, repeat some of the words you say." Tio warned.

"Don't worry about it. Oh, miss Aiko. Didn't run away, huh?" Papa said.

"I was going to drop her off, but she insisted on coming to support me," Tio explained.

"I just... I just had to do something to help. I couldn't not." Aiko said.

"Okay. In any case, it's great to see that you're both alright." Papa said, looking at them.

"So, what did you two do?" I asked, looking at the rubble. Tio and Aiko explained it was thanks to Aiko's magic that made Tio's dragon's breath stronger than ever. After Aiko explained how her ability worked, papa understood something and talked about something called methane, which I had never heard of before. "It blew us away too. The thrill. It's been a while since I've been so close to death." Tio commented.

"Okay, so not only did you destroy the barrier, but you blew up the whole church, too." Papa stated. 

"In all my long life, never could I have imagined such an innovative technique. I'm simply awestruck." Tio added.

"No, Nagumo. Don't misunderstand. I promise I didn't know it would explode like that. I just wanted to avoid half measures. Wait! What happened to the people in the church? Are they okay?" Aiko asked.

"They probably went boom with the building." I said, walking over to the rubble. 

"They seemed to be overconfident, and it was a surprise attack. A true stroke of genius. It was a huge explosion and their guard was down. It's not likely they'd survive." Tio commented. Aiko started freaking out over killing so many people which papa helped her by hugging her and letting her cry. After a couple minutes, Aiko stopped crying and papa made sure she was okay. "Excuse me, master." Tio said, getting papa's attention.

"What's up?" Papa asked, looking at her.

"There's someone there. And it doesn't appear to be a normal presence." Tio said. I looked up seeing an older man that was glowing standing on the rubble. He turned and took a few steps before looking back at us. "You think he wants us to follow him?" Papa asked.

"It seems that way. Well, master, what do you propose?" Tio asked.

"Let me think. It'd be ideal to meet up with Yue as soon as possible. Then again, we came all the way out here for the Age of God's magic. So we better go. Miss Aiko." Papa said, looking at Aiko.

"What is it?" She asked.

"You're probably not going to like this, but I need you to come along with us. I don't know what's going to happen, but I know we need to figure out who that guy is." Papa said. We followed the glowing man to a specific spot in the ruins of the church before he pointed to an area that started glowing with magic. The rubble over the magic floated into the air and out of the way. We walked over before teleporting into a room where an Age of God's magic spell would be found normally. Aiko asked what the place was before we walked into the magic circle where we got the Age of God's magic spell. It was Spirit Magic and something that could manipulate someone's soul. Papa mentioned Miledi used this magic to transfer her soul to a golem to survive for as long as she has. Papa read the requirements for defeating the labyrinth and how we were given access to the magic. Aiko mentioned how to magic was powerful and that there was probably a spell that would get them back home. Tio and Aiko brought up the fact that we needed to get to the capital to see what was going on there.
