(Hello. Author here. Sorry for the long wait. I had some personal things to deal with, as well as school being busy because of exams and projects and whatever else. But even if it's busy, I won't stop writing. Anyway, on another note, this chapter is actually pretty long, even though I thought it would be shorter than usual. I don't know if it's as good as previous chapters, but I'm happy with it, so it's fine even if it isn't. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.)

Y/N's POV

This is agony.

Agony might be a bit too strong a word, actually. Then again, it's accurate enough.

I rolled in my bed again, something I had done what felt like a few hundred times already, even though I probably only did it a couple dozen times.

Even that's a lot, actually.

Is agony really an accurate word for insomnia?

... Yeah, sure it is. Especially when I haven't had sleeplessness in years.

My necklace's charm had gotten underneath me uncomfortably, so I raised myself up a little and took it into my hand.

We had returned from Megumin's village yesterday afternoon, after our date.

Despite everything that happened there, the only thing on my mind was the kiss Megumin gave me. I couldn't stop thinking about it, even though it was just a smooch on my cheek.

Although the fact that the spot on my back has been more itchy lately was definitely part of the reason I couldn't sleep. Not a big reason, though.

... Dammit, what's with her, being all romantic like that? Sure, I got her to keep pursuing her dream, but she didn't have to...

...

...

Why am I complaining, anyway? I've wanted some kind of a romantic development with her for so long, so I should just be happy.

Or maybe I'm too happy.

Annoyed, I rolled back on my back and threw my blanket off myself. Maybe I could get some sleep if my blanket was colder.

Wait. Since Megumin kissed my cheek, does that mean her feelings for me have changed for the better?

People don't usually kiss someone they don't love, right?

So... D-Does she...

The question I didn't even finish made me way too flustered, so I quickly sat up on the edge of my bed.

... L-Let's think about that later. For now, I should just get as much sleep as possible. Yeah. Sleep is good. Go to sleep.

I nodded to myself in silence and looked up.

My gaze went to my window, or rather, the curtains I put in front of it.

I like the dark, so I have curtains that block the light from outside almost completely.

However, I saw some light coming from behind the curtains, reflecting on the wall.

... Wait, no way.

I stood up from my bed and opened the curtain.

Y/N: "My eyes!"

I was hit by the bright sun and put my hands over my eyes in pain.

Turns out, I didn't sleep at all tonight. Without even noticing, too. It's hard to keep track of time in a completely dark room without a clock.

I peeked through my fingers to get accustomed to the light. A moment later, it didn't hurt my eyes anymore.
