Chapter 25: An Encounter with Orcs

The next morning, Y/N and Megumin weren't questioned about holding hands, thankfully. They let go of each other's hands sometime during the night.

However...

Aqua: "Seriously, I woke up in the middle of the night because of Darkness screaming. A goddess needs her beauty sleep!"

Darkness: "Kazuma did something crazy to me... Haahh..."

Y/N: 'I feel like it's a good thing Megumin and I went to sleep.'

Darkness had fallen asleep last night on her watch, and Kazuma woke her up in a crazy way. What did he do? Well, he simply-

Kazuma: "It wasn't even that bad! Be happy I didn't do something worse!"

Darkness: "Something worse...! This perverted man could've done something even worse but didn't?!"

Kazuma: "Why do you look sad?"

Y/N: "You know why."

Everyone knows why.

Kazuma: "And you, Aqua! You said you'd wake up for your watch!"

Aqua: "Well, that clearly isn't my fault. A goddess needs her beauty sleep!"

Y/N: "You're just repeating yourself now..."

Kazuma: "I am so gonna sell that hagoromo of yours."

Aqua: "Huh? Wa-Wait, you can't! It's my holy relic! Proof of my godhood!"

As Aqua started whining and almost crying again, the party had a quick breakfast before continuing their journey.

With Darkness leading the group as the vanguard, Y/N was next in line, Kazuma behind him, and Megumin and Aqua in the back, the journey went smoothly.

Until they came to an endless plain. The road continued straight from there, but there were no trees or other cover in sight. Which meant Kazuma's Lurk wouldn't be useful at all.

Y/N: "Hmm... Wish it was cloudy. If it was, I bet my Lurk would still work."

Kazuma: "Seriously, I'm so envious..."

Y/N: "So, what you wanna do, bro?"

Kazuma thought for a moment, holding his chin.

Kazuma: "Even your Enemy Detection might be useless in such an open environment. Aside from Megumin's Explosion, your Lightning is the only offensive option we have. But..."

Without even finishing his sentence, Kazuma began taking off his adventuring gear.

Megumin: "What is this pervert doing now?"

Y/N: "He's trying out exhibitionism, it seems."

Kazuma: "I'm not! Y/N and I will walk ahead, so I'm taking off some stuff to make running easier!"

Aqua: "The pervert is coming up with believable excuses..."

Darkness: "How cunning... He's evolving..."

As his party talked about him like a new type of monster, Kazuma took off his chest plate, gauntlet, and greaves. The only thing he kept on him was a dagger. And his clothes.

Kazuma: "Look, in an open plain like this, seeing the enemy before the enemy sees you is the most important thing. So, I'll use Farsight to scout for monsters while Y/N's there just in case. If we're lucky, it gets cloudy and his Enemy Detection works in a wide range. Plus, he's strong."
