Chapter 30: Final Explosion

(Hey, author here. Again, sorry for the long wait. Again. I'm not sure why it takes so long to publish a new chapter, but I promise I'll keep writing until the end. Might take a while, actually. Anyway, I thought this chapter would be shorter than most, but it turned out to be longer than expected. Also, I'm personally really happy with the result, so I hope you enjoy, too.)

3rd person's POV

Y&K: "What the hell."

A few hours after the sun rose, Y/N and Kazuma were dumbfounded when they saw the state of the village. Megumin was with them, carrying a basket filled with food.

Y/N: "Bro, is that a demon? With six arms? Rebuilding the village?"

Kazuma: "Along with golems... They're using spells to blast away the debris!"

Megumin: "What are you two so surprised about?"

The village that was almost destroyed just last night was now being rebuilt at an insane speed. One house was already repaired to its former glory.

Helping with the construction were golems cut from boulders and a six-armed demon wielding tools in each of its arms.

And so, understandably, the two from the modern world were shocked like never before. Maybe.

Y/N: "Megumin, what the hell is this? How is this so fast? The houses were literally destroyed. Almost, at least."

Kazuma: "Yeah, how is reconstruction so fast?"

Megumin: "What do you mean? I don't know how long reconstruction takes in other cities, but you shouldn't compare us to them."

Y/N: "... So, how long until the village is back to normal?"

Megumin: "Three days."

Y/N and Kazuma went silent. They looked at each other with disbelieving expressions. Both of them were thinking that the Crimson Demons were broken as hell.

A short silence spent watching the six-armed demon fix up a roof in record time later, Kazuma spoke up, aiming his finger at the basket Megumin was carrying.

Kazuma: "By the way, what's with the basket?"

Hearing that, Megumin took a quick look at the basket and was about to speak up, but was interrupted by Y/N holding his index finger against her lips. Obviously, Megumin blushed slightly at this, due to the suddenness of it.

Y/N, after tilting his head forward with his eyes closed dramatically, looked at Kazuma with a serious expression.

Y/N: "I scored a date, brother."

Kazuma: "Good job, brother."

Kazuma replied with an equally serious expression. The two brothers then bumped their fists together and then did a secret handshake.

Hearing this, Megumin snapped out of her flustered state and looked a little annoyed as she swatted Y/N's hand away.

Megumin: 'Men are so weird...'

As Y/N looked back at Megumin for swatting his hand away, Kazuma spoke up.

Kazuma: "So, does this mean you two are already past the 'more than friends, less than lovers' stage?"

Both Y/N and Megumin froze at Kazuma's question for a second before looking at him with small blushes. Flustered, the lovies stuttered as they tried to explain the situation, but soon realized they hadn't even discussed that.

As such, they looked at each other with flustered blushes.

Y/N: "W-Wait, what's our r-relationship status now? O-One date ins't- isn't that serious, right?"
