Chapter 12: A Shy Arch Wizard

(Quick thanks for 2k reads. Really, thank you. This chapter took longer than usual because I just couldn't decide some of the things in this, but this is the best I could come up with, so roll with it. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.)

Aqua: "Achoo!"

Sitting on the living room floor were Kazuma and Aqua. The house was cold and empty, and Aqua desperately tried to warm herself with her hagoromo and a few pathetically small twigs in the fireplace.

Aqua: "So cold... Warm me up... Please..."

Y/N was using his cape as a blanket and his hoodie, which he fought oh so hard for, as a pillow, as he tried to sleep.

Aqua: "Y/N, let me use your cape, too. I'm cold."

Y/N: "Shut up. I'm trying to sleep."

Aqua: "Pleaseeee, Y/N..."

Y/N: "Stop whining! If you're cold, just exercise or something!"

Suddenly, Kazuma yelled while holding his head with his hands and kicking his feet in the air.

Y/N: "Shut up, Kazuma! I'm tryna sleep!"

Aqua: "What's wrong with you, yelling so suddenly?!"

Kazuma: "Don't you two get it?! Darkness went to that lord's place yesterday and hasn't come back!"

Y/N: "So?"

Kazuma: "She's probably..."

With a sudden realization, Aqua joined Kazuma in his yelling.

Y/N: "Oh my god, shut up! You're overreacting, both of you!"

There was a sudden meow sound coming from the door, and Y/N set a world record for how fast someone got up from a lying position.

Y/N: "Kitty!"

Megumin: "H-Huh?"

Megumin had brought a cat home. A cat with a red cross on its forehead and small wings on its back, its fur black. Y/N, without saying anything, took it from Megumin and started petting it with a happy, content smile. The cat liked this, and it purred.

Y/N: "Hehehe..."

Megumin: "H-Hey, Y/N..."

He didn't answer his bestie, and focused on the cat in his arms. Ever since she entered the room, Megumin had had a pleading look on her face, but now it had turned into a cute, blushing smile.

Kazuma: "What's with the cat, Megumin?"

The smile disappeared as she remembered what she wanted to ask.

Megumin: "Oh, um... She shouldn't cause much trouble, so-"

Y/N: "We can."

Kazuma: "Don't just answer before she finishes asking."

Y/N: "We can."

Kazuma: "..."

Megumin: "Um, why are you saying we? It's my cat, Y/N..."

Y/N: "Our cat."

Megumin: "H-Huh?"

As what Y/N said was mighty bold and could be taken in the wrong way, Megumin blushed again.

Kazuma: 'These two are dating without dating.'

Kazuma went to give the cat a few scratches under its chin, which it liked.

Kazuma: "Well, I guess Y/N's set on keeping it."

Y/N: "Absolutely."

Megumin: "T-Thanks... Hey, Y/N. Do you think you could... give her back?"
