Chapter 28: A Weapon that Might Destroy the World

(Hey, author here. First off, I'm really sorry it took me over a month to write this. Summer break hit me harder than I thought and stuff happened. I didn't think I'd be as busy as I was, honestly. Again, I'm sorry. But anyway, this is another longer chapter, so I hope you enjoy.)

Kazuma: "Cut it out! Get your dick off of me! You wanna die?!"

Kazuma, who had been shouting similar things for a while now, was finally put down on the floor by Sylvia's tentacles. Still traumatized, Kazuma fidgeted on the floor in front of the entrance to the underground facility where the "weapon that might destroy the world" is sealed.

Sylvia: "Settle down! You don't have to worry. I'm not going to try anything. I managed to shake the others off my tail, so I'll let you go."

Y/N: "Nah, I'm still here."

K&S: "Huh?"

Out of nowhere, Y/N appeared next to Kazuma and Sylvia, standing casually like it was just another day. Or night, since it's night time. Even his sword is sheathed.

Kazuma: "... What are you doing here?"

Y/N: "Figured I'd follow you. You know, since you got abducted and stuff. So I guess I'm saving you?"

Kazuma: "Then don't act so casual!"

Completely ignoring Kazuma, Y/N turned to the baffled Sylvia.

Y/N: "Just so you know, Sylvia, I wasn't at my strongest back there. But now, if you try anything, I will take you down myself."

Sylvia: "I just said I wouldn't try anything... Wait, no! You use big words, but do you have the strength to back them up?"

Y/N: "Of course I- Wait!"

Suddenly, Y/N turned to Kazuma with a look of realization, while Kazuma stared at him with a confused expression.

Y/N: "Kazuma, you should have done the thing we practiced! You know, the... the summoning thingy!"

It took Kazuma a couple of seconds to make sense of Y/N's words, and when he did, he felt the urge to smack him. He held his fist in front of him with an annoyed expression.

Kazuma: "I am not summoning you like Mahoraga!"

Y/N: "But it would be so cool! We practiced it already!"

Kazuma: "I was drunk! Besides, I refuse to do it in front of actual enemies!"

Y/N: "You suck!"

Utterly dumbfounded, Sylvia looked at the two bros arguing about something that, to her, sounded meaningless. Soon, Kazuma had enough with Y/N and decided to start ignoring him, turning to Sylvia.

Kazuma: "Don't take this actually insane dude seriously. He's delusional, has suicidal tendencies, and has a lot of other problems."

Sylvia: "I-I see... That's a rather crude way to talk about your friend..."

Kazuma: 'Maybe. Why am I friends with him again?'

Because you two happened to die at the exact same time and meet in the afterlife. Anyhoo, Kazuma finally got around to take a look at the place they were.

Kazuma: "What's this place, anyway?"

Sylvia: "The Crimson Demon village's underground storage facility. My objective is to find the ancient magic weapon that's hidden here."

Kazuma: "A magic weapon?"

Y/N: "Oh, right. You didn't come with us. According to Megumin, a 'weapon that might destroy the world' is sealed here."
