Chapter 4: A Furious Dullahan

Around noon the day after the cabbage harvest, Y/N and Kazuma were in the guild. Kazuma, wanting to expand his skill list, learned a skill which allows him to use elementary magic. Y/N learned it too, although he felt he was just copying what his bro does. But Kazuma assured him that it's fine, since they're both the same job and the weakest in the party.

Kazuma: "Alright, I'll try it out. Create Water!"

Aiming at an empty class, he extended his hand and a stream of water came out from his palm. It filled the glass which Kazuma then drank.

Kazuma: "Not bad."

Y/N: "How is this skill supposed to ever be useful?"

Kazuma: "Well, we won't run out of water, at least. Hey, aren't you gonna try?"

Y/N: "Nah, I feel like it'd be more like a firetruck hose. I gotta figure out a way to weaken my skills."

Kazuma: "What about using less mana?"

Y/N: "I've been thinking about that, but I don't exactly have that much control over my mana yet."

Kazuma: "Why not ask Aqua?"

Y/N shot Kazuma a glance, asking "Seriously?", and Kazuma realized why he hasn't.

Kazuma: "What about Megumin? She's an arch wizard, so she should be able to help."

Y/N: "Well, I would, but at the moment..."

The two turned to look at Megumin, who had upgraded her staff with a crimson red crystal. For some reason, she was holding it close to her body and snuggling it. She was holding her face against it while rubbing it against her inner thighs, all while saying something about the manatite staff brimming with magical power. She was also blushing and panting a little.

Kazuma: "Okay, I get what you mean."

Y/N: "Hard to believe she's being more perverted than Darkness right now."

Speak of the devil, Darkness approached them wearing her repaired armor.

Darkness: "Look, Kazuma, Y/N! I repaired my armor the reward I got for the cabbages, and it's so shiny and new! Doesn't it look good?"

Y/N: "Like something a spoiled rich kid would buy every other week."

Kazuma: "Agreed."

Darkness looked offended for once.

Darkness: "Hmph. Even I want some genuine praise sometimes too, you know? I expected this from Kazuma, but looks like even you can be a savage, Y/N."

Y/N: "Please stop blushing and panting like that."

Aqua: "What did you say?!"

Turning to look at the voice, the four saw Aqua yelling at Luna for whatever reason.

Aqua: "Hey, what's the big deal?! I caught so many cabbages, so why am I getting so little money?!"

Luna: "W-Well, uh..."

Aqua: "What?!"

Luna: "Most of what you caught was actually lettuce..."

Aqua: "Why is there lettuce mixed in?!"

For the first time ever, Y/N felt a tinge of pity for the blue thing that calls itself a goddess.

Darkness: "Lettuce does have a low redemption rate."

Kazuma: "Really? Well, guess Aqua just had bad luck."

Y/N: 'Oh, she's coming here. Can't be good. Should I dip again?'
