Chapter 7: The Winter Shogun

Mere days after the fight with Beldia, the season turned to winter. In the guild, sitting at a table, Kazuma spoke with a raspy voice as he hit the table with his fists.

Kazuma: "I want money!"

Y/N: "Don't we all?"

Aqua: "Yeah, everyone wants money. Seriously though, you're way too unresourceful. Who makes a goddess like me sleep in a stable? A brute like you! You should be ashamed of yourself! If you get that, spoil me!"

Kazuma: "Don't you know why I want money?!"

Aqua: "Huh?"

Kazuma: "We're broke! Thanks to you and your damn water magic damaging the wall, none of us have any money! If Y/N didn't shoot water at you when he did, we'd be in debt! And there still aren't many quests we can do because a lot of monsters are still hiding because of Beldia and some are hibernating because of winter!"

Y/N: "Oh, speaking of winter. I woke up with frozen eye lashes today. Even my nose was frozen. I nearly died in my sleep because of that."

Kazuma: "Me too! We're gonna die at this rate!"

Due to him not having any money, Y/N had to move back in the stables with Kazuma and Aqua. He didn't like it, but it was better than being out in the streets during cold winter nights. Aqua stood up and slammed her hands on the table.

Aqua: "I can't help it! We would have totally lost if I didn't use that magic! Exalt me! Praise me! Spoil me!"

Y/N: "We could have relied on me and my water magic, though."

Kazuma: "Yeah, what he said, you attention whore! If you really think your feats were that amazing, why don't you do quests alone and get the rewards all for yourself? Better yet, leave the party!"

Kazuma got up to leave, but Aqua clung to him again on her knees.

Aqua: "Wait! I'm sorry! I apologize for getting carried away, so please don't make me leave the party!"

Darkness: "What's with all the ruckus so early in the morning?"

Megumin: "We got a nice job lined up or something?"

Y/N: "Nah, we haven't looked for quests yet."

Kazuma: "Yeah, given the situation and all."

Pretty much every other party was eating and drinking using the reward for participating in the fight against Beldia, even if they didn't do anything.

Megumin: "I see. Yeah, no one is dumb enough to take quests to fight deadly winter monsters when they've got more money than they can spend."

Y/N: "Man, I hate being broke."

Megumin: "Well, we get to fight strong monsters that are worthy of using explosion on."

Darkness: "Y-Yeah, fighting monsters that are strong and hit hard is nice. In more ways than one."

Deciding to ignore Darkness being a pervert again, the party went to the quest board which was of quests.

Kazuma: "The rewards are nice, but the quests itself are too difficult for us..."

Darkness: "Kazuma, Kazuma!"

Kazuma: "Kazuma desu."

Darkness pointed at a quest.

Darkness: "How about this? A kill quest for a pack of White Wolves. The reward is a million eris!"

Y/N: "Ooh, wolves. I like them. They're like big doggos."
