Chapter 19: A Date?

Later on in the day, Kazuma arrived at the Axis cult's headquarters with Darkness, who's panting for some reason, in tow. Meanwhile, Kazuma was furious.

Kazuma: "Damn it! I wanna talk to whoever's in charge! I'll give them a piece of my mind!"

A priestess approached a huffing and puffing Kazuma.

Priestess: "Oh, my! Whatever is the matter? Are you here for conversion? Baptism? Or... me?"

Kazuma: "Y-You?"

When the priestess got right up to his face with a cute smile, Kazuma immediately got flustered. Seeing his reaction, the priestess laughed in his face.

Priestess: "I'm just joking! Come now, don't take me seriously! Are you all right in the head?"

Kazuma: 'What do I do now? I wanna introduce my fist to her face!'

Priest: "Anyway, our high priest, Zesta-sama (Zesty-sama), is out screwing around while proselytizing..."

Kazuma: "Wait, what did you just say?"

Priestess: "That is, he is out spreading the glories of Aqua-sama's name. I'm sorry, but you'll have to come back another time."

Kazuma: "Hang on, did a guy with a sword in his left hand, a magic user and an arch priest come here?"

Priestess: "Oh, if you're looking for them..."

She looked to the side.

Kazuma: "..."

In a corner, Y/N and Megumin were leaning against each other, both looking like they're traumatized and registration forms stuffed in their collars. Chicken Vienna Sausage was sitting next to them and staring at them. Also, Megumin was hugging Y/N's arm.

Kazuma: "Huh?!"

Priestess: "Also, the woman you came here with is being stoned by kids."

Kazuma: "Oh, c'mon!"

Kazuma quickly ran outside and found Darkness crouching in front of a wall, guarding her head as a group of kids threw stones at her. He quickly shooed them away.

Darkness: "Kazuma..."

Kazuma: "What?"

No need to sound so annoyed.

Darkness: "Even the women and children in this town are pretty advanced."

Okay, maybe there is.

Kazuma: "Take off the Eris sect charm already! You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?!"

Darkness: "I refuse."

Back inside

Kazuma brought Darkness back inside and placed her standing next to the dense couple. He then turned to Y/N.

Kazuma: "Hey, Y/N."

Y/N: "..."

Kazuma: "... Y/N?"

Y/N: "... Huh? Oh, Kazuma. What's up?"

Y/N had been in a kind of trance and snapped back to consciousness after Kazuma shook him a bit.

Kazuma: "I should ask you what's up, but... Where's Aqua?"

Y/N: "In the confessional. She's been there the whole time, and she refuses to come out."

Kazuma: "Uh-huh... Okay, you're coming with me."

When Kazuma pulled Y/N away from Megumin, Megumin began shaking a bit harder. Noticing this, Kazuma did not care at all and dragged Y/N with him to the confessional. Megumin was left behind, mumbling incoherent things as well as Y/N's name.
