Chapter 20: A Deadly Poison Slime

Crowd: "Slay the demons! Defeat the Demon King! Slay the demons! Defeat the Demon King!"

DLFY: "That witch who claims the name of a goddess!"

ABWFY: "Who gave you permission to dye your hair blue?!"

Man 3: "Tie her up! Take the wench and tie her up!"

He has some kind of a bondage fetish. I just know he does.

Anyhoo, the crowd is getting madder and madder. Currently, they look like they're about to break into the inn and kill Aqua. They're also calling her an impostor. (I hate this word.)

Crowd: "Impostor! Impostor! Impostor!"

Y/N: "How the hell are we floating on this thing?"

To escape, Aqua jumped down the roof, held her hagoromo over her head, and it somehow became a balloon. Or something. The rest of the group jumped onto it and they floated away. Or, well, slowly descended away while Aqua cried with a pathetic and pitiful face.

Crowd: "The Aqua impostor's running away!"

Is this the equivalent of venting?

After landing on the ground, the group hid in an alley, while the angry mob was searching for them.

Mob: "Find the Aqua impostor!"

Y/N: "Y'know, since it's night and we want to hide, it would be very easy with my Lurk skill. We'd be completely unnoticeable."

Kazuma: "True, but then we'd all have to be in physical contact with you. Would be pretty hard to move and stuff."

Aqua: "Yeah, and I don't wanna touch you. You're icky."

Y/N: "How am I icky?! Megumin, am I icky?"

Megumin: "Uh... No. You're not icky."

Y/N: "See?!"

Kazuma: 'I don't think a testament from someone's lover counts as an acceptable testament.'

It does not. HOWEVER, these two are not dating. Yet.

Aqua: "Anyway, I think the water source is the problem."

Short silence.

Megumin: "Makes sense."

Aqua: "If I can purify that, the hot springs should all turn back to normal. I'll cut off the rotten smell at the source."

Man: "There she is! I found the wannabe!"

The angry mob found the group, so the group ran.

Kazuma: "Do you really have to save these people?!"

Y/N: "Can we just let them perish?"

Aqua: "But they're my darling faithful..."

Aqua is most definitely a reverse simp for her followers. Anyhoo, their pursuers are quite persistent. It's difficult for the party to lose them.

Y/N: "Oh, that's it! Everyone, grab either me or someone else who's touching me!"

That sounds so wrong. Nevertheless, with Megumin being the first and most enthusiastic, everyone did as told. Y/N used Lurk, making the whole group invisible. It's the middle of the night, with the only source of light being the pursuers' torches, so there was no way they'd be found.

Kazuma: "I am so envious of your mana, bro."

Y/N: "Git gud."

Aqua: "All right, looks like they lost us. Now, everyone, to the water source!"
