"Emilie, can I talk to you for a minute please?" My English teacher asks as we all begin to walk out of the classroom. I raise my eyebrows at her and walk over to her desk as everyone else walks out of the room, making brief eye contact with Stefan as I do so.
"Yeah, of course." I say, stopping a few feet in front of her desk and looking at her.
"I saw something in your bag earlier. Some painkillers?" She questions, raising her eyebrows slightly and looking at me.
"Yeah, I've just got a headache." I say, quickly coming up with any excuse I can. I was planning on taking a few too many of those in the toilets at lunchtime. I took them out of the cupboard in the kitchen without Charles knowing.
"I'm going to have to call home, it's dangerous for you to have that many painkillers on you." She explains, giving me a slightly sympathetic look.
"Please, miss. Please don't call Charles." I sigh, throwing my head back slightly. If he finds out I've taken this many painkillers from the medicine box, he'll never let me have any ever again.
"I have to, Emilie. Go to the principal's office and I'll call him to pick you up. You can't stay at school if you have that many painkillers on you." My teacher sighs, shaking her head slightly and typing on her laptop to find Charles' contact number.
I let out a sigh and walk out of the classroom with my backpack slung over my shoulder, being met with Stefan stood outside the door waiting for me.
"What was that about?" He asks, walking beside me as I head towards the principal's office.
"I'm being sent home. Apparently I'm not allowed painkillers in school." I state, shrugging my shoulders slightly, not really wanting to speak to him. Since I've been speaking to Stefan more often, Theo has stopped spending all day with me. I feel like we have drifted apart, I miss him.
"That's stupid." He scoffs, furrowing his eyebrows at my statement as we quickly reach the principal's office. "Well, tell me how it goes." He adds as I stop outside the door.
"I will do." I give him a small smile before knocking on the door and pushing it open, walking into the office.

I look down at the ground as Charles sits on the chair beside me and Max stays stood up behind us. Charles grabs my backpack from next to my feet, beginning to search through it for the painkillers I stole from the cupboard.
"Care to explain?" He raises his eyebrows at me, holding up the four boxes of painkillers he found before handing them to Max. I just shrug in response, refusing to look at him as I earn a small sigh from both Charles and Max.
"I want a reason. Now." Max states firmly, placing his hand on the back of my chair and leaning forward slightly.
"I don't know, I'm sorry." I apologise, tears pooling in my eyes. I wanted a way out of all the pain. I thought that this would be the easiest way. Charles notices my tears and slightly shaky voice, leaning his head down slightly to look into my eyes.
"Hey, come here." He says gently, holding his arms out to the side and standing up off his chair. I get up and wrap my arms around his torso, sobbing into his chest as he hugs me tightly. Max wraps his arms around the both of us, pulling us both into a massive group hug. I feel safe with them, like nothing can hurt me.
"I'm sorry about all this. I promise you, she won't bring painkillers to school again." Charles says to the principal as he releases me from the hug and looks down at the principal sitting at his desk.
"It's alright, just make sure it doesn't happen again, okay?" The principal states, looking at me and raising his eyebrows slightly. I nod in response and look down at the floor, not making eye contact with anyone.
