As Tiffany began walking, deep under Nele's control, the other followed her. Everyone but Lydia. "Hey sis, are you feeling alright? Why are you not coming with us?" Erika asked worried as Lydia let out a long breath. "I don't think I can actually manage to face Desmond. I'm not in the mood to see him, one could say. It's... We've been partners for so long and now I betrayed him and I don't want him to attack me or something... I don't know. I know it's not right to let you go alone, but..." She explained and Erika hugged her. "We understand. It's alright, we can do this. How hard can this be?" Erika tried to be positive and the smiled at Lydia. "I totally understand you. I will not force you to go. Don't worry. " She assured her and Lydia nodded. "Thank you... I'll... I'll go then I guess. See you?" She asked Erika, who waved. "See you! Don't eat dinner without me." She joked before leaving with the others, while Lydia went in the opposite direction, the way back to the orphanage.
Tiffany guided them a long way up a hill. They all followed slowly growing tired. "Desmond's really hiding well, huh?" Mai groaned while Erika was out of breath. "I guess so. Nele, you sure this worked?" Erika asked. Nele gave a thumbs up. "Yeah... I can control the entire cult, so controlling an 8 year old isn't that hard." She stated and Erika let out a bitter chuckle. "Great, it's like Desmond knew this was gonna piss us off."
After around 20 minutes of trying to get up the hill, they finally reached the top. On there was Desmond just standing there, nothing special on him. When he saw them he immediately went to Tiffany. "I know what you did to her." He spoke coldly. "I already felt she wasn't in control anymore. Ha, I guess it's also fun this way, so I let her bring you here." He explained and bend down to Tiffany. Erika, Mai and Nele all were too afraid to say or do anything as they did not know what he was planning. "Snap out of it." He muttered with disappointed creeping into his tone as he snapped his fingers. Tiffany immediately regained control and looked around. As she figured out the situation she turned to Desmond. "I-I'm sorry... I failed.." She stuttered but instead of being mad, she was met with Desmond's manic grin. "It's okay. This also works just fine. You did enough, go home now!" He instructed and Tiffany started leaving the hill, her head lowered. Desmond sighed, his apathetic face returning.
"H-How did you just remove my control..." Nele asked carefully being dumbfounded. Desmond chuckled. "My power can interfere with yours. I can also spook around in her mind. I might just be able to control her arm, but I can surely free her of someone else's control." He explained slowly pacing around the hill. Erika stepped forward. "You have to stop this madness, Desmond. People are dying because of you. Do you not care about the lifes you ruined?" She asked in a serious tone of voice. Desmond rolled his eyes. "1 or 3 small deaths don't mean anything. Though it surely gives people the impression we're being serious. It causes fear..." He stated not facing them. "1 or 3 deaths don't matter? Do you even hear yourself? You're a madman! An absolute lunatic! People died. People that others hold dear. And that only because of you! You're a monster!" Erika yelled and stepped closer. "Of course people with lower IQ than a snail wouldn't understand my ideology, so why even care explaining. Let me ask you this, don't you think this god is using you? All of you are being used for a sick form of entertainment, I hope you realize that." He exclaimed raising one of his arms indicating the importance of his speech. Erika took a deep breath. "If we're asking questions, let me ask this. Is it worth risking innocent people's life to achieve power? You're scaring people to force them to follow you in your sick ideology, you end people's life for am existence as a dictator! Is it that what you want? She questioned angrily. Desmond turned around, facing her calmly. "If that's what it takes to have the power this thing has, then so be it! Then I will be a dictator, a monster, an object of your hatred. But please view [Redacted] the same." He spoke in a monotone voice, lacking any form of empathy.
