"You're right." Erika stated. "I have lost both my parents as well...but not as much memories as you do, so I moved on. I don't like being reminded of it." Erika explained looking a bit afraid. Mai was confused by her behavior. "What happened to them?" She couldn't stop herself from asking because curiosity got the better of her. Erika couldn't help but shed a tear. She looked at her clothes in silence. "My parents were rich and famous..." She muttered. "Right! I remember seeing them in television as a kid!" Mai stated and Erika nodded. "They had a lot of TV appearances and well someone disliked them... They were killed by an assassin in front of Lydia's eyes. I don't wanna know what she is going through her entire life. But she most definitely isn't fine after seeing that." Erika said. "All we have left from our parents are my mother's necklace, that I decided to wear in memory of her and our father's scarf that Lydia wears and can't even sleep without, poor girl.." Erika informed Mai and looked as though she felt really bad for her poor sister.
"Must be hard seeing the entire process of a parent dying... I was unconscious quicker than I saw anything." Mai mumbled looking down sadly. "Is that why Lydia's distancing herself from everything and everyone? I mean except for the fact she's around Desmond sometimes she is alone all the time." Mai wondered. Erika looked at her lap. "I wish I knew. She hasn't spoken a word to me in ages. I really love her as a sister but I think she's going through a rough phase right now and I cannot help her with anything. It bothers me." Erika explained. "She's not a bad person. She has just experienced things, she shouldn't have." Erika stated her eyes portraying the good image she had of her sister.
At Desmond's house, Lydia sat on the kitchen floor, wanting to be alone for a while. She hugged her scarf. It was the only memory she had of her lovely father. She looked so much like him, genes are terrifying. "I will be greater than anyone else one day, papa. Me and Desmond will be powerful together and then she won't be the golden child anymore. I'm gonna watch her innocence get ripped away from her when I let her face with my anger and powers." Lydia mumbled to herself and tied her scarf back around her neck.
She wasn't lying, she had power no one knew about. Power she even kept it secret from Desmond since she wanted it to be a surprise in the war later on for everyone. She had the power to destroy everything that she touched. A reason why she always wore gloves, since fabric was the only thing not crumbling under her touch and it helps her actually touch other things. The girl grinned, through Desmond's corruption her touch had been strengthened. It took less time for her to complete crumble a flower now.
"Seeing this flower die down is nice.." She whispered while testing her power on yet another flower. "But the flower I wanna see withering away is you, my dear sister." She stated dropping the remains of the dead plant on the ground and stepping on them.
She looked at herself in the mirror. Her appearance had changed, especially her eyes. They had some kind of light in them that shines brightly whenever her anger got fueled. Lydia decided to tie her hair together, she had to get a more practical hairstyle to fight later. She went for some braids, still keeping her bangs normal though. "This should be fine!" She figured and decided to show it to Desmond. "Hey Des, it's starting soon isn't it? I'm so excited, our life work finally paying off." Lydia almost jumped with excitement. Desmond just chuckled in a monotone voice. "Yeah, I was thinking in two hours maybe. Rachel is also getting ready. We have talked about the plan and the two days of preparations are over, this just has to work. You and I, Lydia. We will be the most known and most feared people to exist." Desmond exclaimed, spreading his arms to emphasize his statements.
Lydia giggled, Desmond's spirit and motivation for the action was nice to see in her opinion. "You and I Desmond. No backing out and no betraying, alright?.." She asked holding out a hand as if offering a deal. Desmond put on his gloves before shaking it. He had always been unhappy with direct, physical hand contact. "Yeah. No backing out. That also counts for you. No matter what happens, no matter what your sister tells you, you will keep holding in my plan." He agreed with her, his voice sounding threatening.
Rachel suddenly stepped downstairs. She had a hairstyle that was going over her eyes, almost covering them. She also almost only wore long black clothing that covered her entire arms and feet. "You look pretty, Rachel." Lydia commented giving her a small hug. Rachel laughed softly. "Thanks Lydia. I'm scared, but we're a team. We're an alliance and we will succeed, I'm sure." She tried staying positive. Lydia gave Rachel a last pat on the shoulder before Desmond started dragging her to the front door, holding onto her shoulders tightly.
"Call out the war. You know what to do, you practiced the text. We will all get in position and then we can finally get started and you will be the one to begin it." Desmond whispered in her ear and gave her a slight push out the door.
Rachel looked forward bravely, she was actually going through with it.
Erika and Mai, who had still been sitting together, heard a weird singing voice coming from outside. They stood up and walked to the window to spot the black clothed figure singing tunes, walking with slow and steady steps and turning to the clock. "Uh, what's that Erika?" Mai asked nervously and Erika got concerned as well. "I don't know, Mai.."
Rachel spread her arms trying to get all the attention possible on her. She had speakers that would help her with that. When 6:00 pm arrived, she turned it on and started speaking.
"We, the alliance of a new era declare war with the rulers! Desmond is the only true superior being. Accept that or suffer the consequences..."
