The others went back to the destroyed town to fight Lydia.
Lydia herself was already waiting for them. "I can't believe Gabriel failed. Desmond you're terrible at choosing talented people for this job, ugh." Lydia complained, sitting on some ruins. Desmond, who's voice was in her head, laughed. "Very funny. How about recruiting one? I bet you wouldn't be particularly better. Sometimes you have to take what you get." He explains. Lydia sighs. "Guess I have to do the dirty work myself, thanks for nothing." She said and saw the others approaching. "One less! How delightful. What happened to William, did he get stung by a bee?" She joked. "I guess he's grieving about his boyfriend. Unfortunate. That's why I don't love." Desmond groaned and Lydia chuckled. "Hadn't thought the two were that close, haha. Maybe Gabriel was worthy." She spoke, her voice hinting a bit of sarcasm. "The battlefield calls. Talk to you later, Des." She said and walked over to the chosen ones.
Erika stepped up to her sister, trying to look as brave as she physically can. "Sister... We're ready to fight. Just because of you and Desmond William will be unhappy for god knows how long. I don't fear about your health anymore. People like you deserve to experience losses. It could be more important for you to experience that!" Erika stated, her voice betraying her brave facade by shaking slightly. Lydia grinned. "That's fine with me. I don't worry about hurting you either. For all I know you could just die and rot and never return!" She snorted back to her sister. Erika was saddened by her words but kept her composure. "Atleast I'm not fighting alone. I have people being there for me, caring about me, fighting by my side. You're alone. Alone with a madman who doesn't give a damn about you. He didn't care when Gabriel fell, he wouldn't care about you." Erika stated holding Mai's and Kate's hand gently. Lydia frowned angrily. "You don't know anything about Desmond! He's trying to better the world! You're following the command of a insane divine creature. Isn't that the same? Of course sacrifices have to be made to achieve goals and if it's my time to die, then so be it! But I will not go without scarring you!" Lydia exclaimed raising her corrupted hand.
"Good thing you left your only protection far away! Would've been a bummer if I had to continue this cat and mouse game from me and William anymore!" She laughed lowering her hand. Erika balled her hands into fists t her sister's words. How she hated how her sister had turned out. Erika ran right towards her without any protection. Lydia seemed startled but didn't hesitate to try and touch her sister to destroy her, but just like magic her sister escaped her every attack. "You forgot about my visions. I know every movement you will make to harm me! You can't hit someone who knows how and where you're gonna hit!" She stated and Lydia growled. "Ugh why does everyone here have to be so annoying! I will wipe that smile off of your face!" Lydia groaned and Erika giggled. "Go on, try sister!"
Kate and Mai stood behind the others now. They had to remain in the back since their powers weren't of any help. Itsuki and Viktoria hadn't found their powers yet and so didn't know what to do, but Lila, also owning no power yet, jumped into the scene with her sword. She had equiped armor at the orphanage to be save fighting. She got between the two twins. "I'm at your side, Erika! I might not be as powerful, but I'm skilled with my sword, as my father was a famous sword fighter." Lila called out smiling. Erika seemed relieved. "Thank you..." She muttered..
Lydia stormed at the two trying to destroy them with her touch, but while Erika was escaping her every attack, Lila was swinging her sword right in her direction, forcing her to redraw. Lydia screamed in annoyance. "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO TERRIBLY SKILLED." She yelled out frustrated. She then spotted the four people in the back. "Or maybe I'm just aiming at the wrong people." She whispered to herself and ran past both Erika and Lila and dashed towards the four, who were immediately shielded by Kate and tried to touch them. "STOP! YOU'LL KILL THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT MIGHT STILL CARE ABOUT YOU!" Kate yelled out and that made Lydia pause. "Care about me? Where were you when I actually needed you? When I was despairing, not knowing what I could do to feel better about myself. How could I even feel better about myself with my stupid sister being the kindest person on earth?! She gets everything! I never get anything. I'm just the evil and mental sister." Lydia stated and stared at them with pure hatred. Kate looked at her and slowly stepped forward embracing her. "Just because you're viewed that way doesn't give you a reason to act according to it making yourself look like a worse person than you actually are... Your sister loves you. We love you. You were just always so distant and resentful... We didn't know how to approach. Thanks for sharing your worries." Kate spoke calmly, being gentle with her. Lydia saw this as the perfect opportunity to destroy her but suddenly she hesitated. She had never felt so conflicted. She wanted to hurt Kate, but at the same time she enjoyed being understood. She lowered her hand.
