It was a normal day for Gabriel. He had been in his room alone and isolated. He couldn't stand being anywhere with how he looked. He felt embarrassed for falling for a person like Desmond. He really had to stop falling for people right away. First for William, then for Desmond. It all was making his head hurt. His mother was out of town. She had been set up to work somewhere further away and would be gone for a few days because of that. He spent that time alone, barely eating and avoiding every mirror. Gabriel couldn't stand seeing his past mistakes.
He suddenly heard loud noises from outside and he walked to his window, looking outside. He only lived a few streets away from the school and could see it, though all he saw was the dorm building crumbling, crushing everything underneath the ruins. He fell back in shock, that was not normal at all, somebody must have a terrible power like he did himself. The terrified boy got under his desk in fear, not really knowing what else to do. He put his hood on and covered his ears. He was trembling, afraid of what's to come. He hoped so much that no one would break his house. He knew he had wanted to die before, but not like that, he thought.
"Please let everyone be okay... Please...I..." He stopped in his words when he realized he had seen a fifth grader with the death date of this exact date. This couldn't have been a coincidence. Gabriel felt sick to his stomach and started crying. It was because of him for sure. He brought misfortune to anyone. As soon as he read someone's death date it was sealed. No one could escape the fate he placed on them. After the loud noises stopped he slowly got out from under the desk, still trembling a lot and went over to the bathroom. He finally looked at himself after a long time. He had a corrupted halo as well as sharper pupils. But what reaiwas standing out was his deformed hand. He looked like a monster.
The boy took a gummy bandy tying his hair together into a small braid, since it has grown alot since he wasn't taking care of himself. "Does William miss me?" He asked himself as he washed his hands. "Surely he would hate a monster like me. I look so terrible... Maybe he didn't mean what he said the way I took it... Maybe he genuinely wanted to be my friend... Maybe it's not wrong for me to love him this much..." Gabriel mumbled, tears running down his face. "I hope he's okay..." He sobbed and broke down hugging his legs. It was too much for him, the burdens he carried for being responsible for people dying, the guilt of having trusted Jacob, the way he was missing William...
Suddenly a pain in his leg hit him. He felt like it was cramping hard. He started curling up in pain and screaming, but the pain never vanished. When he suddenly heard a voice in his head speak.
"Since you're more resistant than most in the army, you have to be disciplined with pain. It's the only teacher that'll fix your behavior. You will assist Lydia in war. If you don't, she will destroy you and all you will feel from now on is pain." The voice spoke. Gabriel recognized that voice as Desmond's. He held his head. "PLEASE LET ME GO... IT HURTS." He screamed and cried but all Desmond did was laugh. "You sound pathetic crying. You have to help Lydia. She's calling for you, we can't have you crying and whining like a brat if you're not gonna help. Go. Now. Or suffer the consequences." Desmond commanded and Gabriel sighed. He couldn't defeat someone like Desmond, that was impossible. Especially not if he had this kind of control over him. Gabriel got up and stumbled to the front door but then stopped. "If I do a good job, can you let me go?... Can you take that curse off of me and let me live my life?.." He pleadingly asked and Desmond chuckled. "Big request for someone like you, but why not... Only if you do a good job though, if not you shall suffer the consequences of your stupidity until eternity." He explains, his voice laced with evil intent.
