The next day, Taehyung and Jin set out together to attend the wedding.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was still at Lisa’s house, asleep. Lisa, freshly showered, was preparing breakfast and went to wake him up.
“Sir, please freshen up and have some breakfast. I made it for you,” she said gently.
Jungkook opened his eyes, turning away with a cold, dismissive look.
“Please, sir…”
Suddenly, Jungkook pulled her close with a firm grip, his voice harsh, “Focus on why I’m here, not on playing the role of my wife.”
Lisa stammered, “Sir… I was just…”
“If you can’t handle that, then I’m leaving. I don’t have time for this,” he said bluntly.
Lisa, hesitating, began to engage with him intimately, and Jungkook closed his eyes. But instead of focusing on the moment, he saw Jin’s face in his mind. Frustrated and driven by a blend of anger and passion, he became more aggressive.
Lisa, with tears, murmured, “Sir, please… you’re hurting me.”
Lost in his anger and thoughts of Jin, Jungkook muttered, “You’re driving me crazy, Jin…”
At the wedding, Jin and Taehyung arrived, congratulating the bride and groom and taking a few photos with them. Afterward, they sat at a table together. Jin looked around, feeling a genuine warmth seeing the bride and groom so happy, surrounded by their families.
Taehyung, noticing Jin’s joy, brought him a plate of pastries and a glass of strawberry juice. “You and the baby must be hungry,” he said with a soft smile.
Jin nodded, “Hmm… but not too much.” He quickly finished the pastry and was just about to sip his juice when he noticed a couple at a nearby table sharing food from the same plate. Suddenly, Jin felt a bit embarrassed for eating everything himself.
“I'm sorry for finishing all the pastries on my own. I didn’t even ask if you wanted any,” Jin said, looking sheepishly at Taehyung.
Taehyung smirked, folding his arms and looking at him, “Well, at least you remembered that I’m here too and that I get hungry.”
Feeling even more embarrassed, Jin said quickly, “I’ll go get another plate for you.”
But Taehyung, with a soft smile, noticed some cream on Jin’s lips. “If I told you that you ate my share of the pastry, would you mind if I take yours?” he teased.
Jin, smilingly, replied, “Of course not, go ahead.”
Taehyung leaned in, Jin’s heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected Taehyung to get so close to him, and in that brief moment, he felt a mix of curiosity and nervousness. Taehyung’s lips brushed against his gently, brushing a small smear of cream off Jin’s lips.
Jin’s eyes widened, his face turning red in surprise. Taehyung drew back with a teasing smile, his gaze warm and gentle.
“You missed a little cream,” Taehyung said softly, a hint of playfulness in his voice.
Jin felt a wave of warmth rush to his cheeks, unable to meet Taehyung’s eyes as he looked down, a shy smile appearing on his face.
As Jungkook was getting ready to leave, his phone buzzed with an urgent call from his informant.
“Sir, I have news. There’s a deadly attack planned on Taehyung Sir. The Kangwa Company wants him out of the upcoming projects, and they intend to use force to make him withdraw.”
Jungkook's heart raced. “I’ll figure out what to do. In the meantime, keep a close watch on everything.”
“Sir, one more thing. Taehyung is with Jin. They went out to a wedding this morning.”
The mention of Jin sent a chill down Jungkook's spine.
Frustrated, Jungkook quickly tried calling Jin, but his call wouldn’t go through. He realized Jin must have blocked him. He tried Taehyung next, but his phone was on silent and went unanswered. Feeling a surge of panic, he threw on his jacket and rushed out to his car.
Meanwhile, as Taehyung and Jin were driving back, Taehyung spoke softly, “I wish I could be your first and last love. I want you to be happy, only ever with me. It hurts to see your love for Jungkook in your eyes. I want to break all boundaries to have you.”
Jin was taken aback by Taehyung’s words, about to respond when suddenly their car was jolted by another vehicle crashing into them.
“Are you okay?” Taehyung asked, concerned.
“Yes, are you hurt?” Jin replied, worry evident in his voice.
Just then, more than ten cars surrounded them. Jin’s eyes widened in fear as he saw armed men exiting the vehicles.
Taehyung remained calm, recognizing the situation for what it was. “Jin, stay low and don’t get out of the car until I say so. Do you understand?”
Jin grabbed Taehyung’s hand in panic, “They’ll hurt you!”
“Just trust me. No matter what, don’t leave the car,” Taehyung urged, his grip firm on the steering wheel.
Reluctantly, Jin nodded but couldn’t shake his fear.
Taehyung stepped out of the car, facing the leader of the armed men, who approached menacingly.
“Withdraw your name from upcoming projects, or you’ll pay with your life,” the leader warned.
Taehyung smirked, “You think sending twenty men will intimidate me? I’m not backing down from this project. There’s no way.”
The leader’s eyes narrowed, frustration evident. “Fine. Let’s end this, then.”
With tension thick in the air, the situation escalated, and Taehyung prepared to defend what was his, knowing that Jin’s safety depended on his next move.
As the tension escalated to a breaking point, five or six men surged forward, ready to overwhelm Taehyung. But he was a force of nature, seamlessly transitioning into combat mode. Each movement was calculated, each strike a testament to his training. He sidestepped the first assailant, disarming him with a swift twist of the wrist, and then unleashed a flurry of precise blows that sent his attackers crashing to the ground, one after the other.
Yet, in the midst of this chaos, the leader saw his opportunity. With a sudden, brutal motion, he smashed the window of Taehyung's car. The sound of shattering glass echoed like a gunshot in the tense air. He lunged inside, grabbing Jin by the collar and yanking him out with a fierce grip, yanking him away from the safety of the vehicle. Jin gasped, shock and fear flooding his senses as the cold steel of a gun pressed painfully against his temple.
“Get back, or I’ll blow his brains out!” the leader shouted, his voice thick with venom, eyes glinting with cruel satisfaction.
Taehyung felt his heart drop, panic flooding through him as he took an instinctive step forward. “Let him go! You want me, not him!” he shouted, desperation threading his voice as he locked eyes with Jin, who looked terrified and vulnerable.
The leader's expression twisted into a sinister smile. “Your life for his, Taehyung! Make your choice,” he taunted, the gun pressing harder against Jin’s head, causing Jin to tremble, tears welling in his eyes.
“Taehyung, please…” Jin pleaded, his voice barely above a whisper, filled with dread.
Each second stretched into an eternity as Taehyung clenched his fists, the weight of the moment bearing down on him. “I won’t let you hurt him!” he shouted, his voice a mixture of rage and fear.
