Two days later, after Taehyung and Jimin's memorial ceremony, Jungkook sits down to lunch with his parents, his grandmother, Namjoon, and Hoseok. The meal is quiet and somber, each of them lost in their own thoughts.
After lunch, Jungkook slips away, retreating to the backyard, where he sits alone, staring off into the distance, lost and heavy-hearted.
Mrs. Kim approaches him softly. "Kookie..." she calls gently, sitting beside him. Jungkook looks up briefly, then lowers his head. She reaches out, taking his hand in hers, her touch warm and comforting.
"Kookie, there's no use in making yourself sad by thinking about what's already happened..." she begins.
Jungkook's voice is hollow as he replies, "Mom... how can I even be sad when all the memories I had with Jimin are so faded now? I want to remember what happened that day... the day when hyung and Jimin... weren't here anymore. But it's all gone... I can't remember anything."
Mrs. Kim's voice falters, her own grief slipping through, "Kookie... don't push yourself too hard. The doctor said you need to move forward. Thinking about the past will only hurt you more."
She pulls him into a tight embrace, her tears breaking free. "I've already endured the pain of losing Taehyung... I can't bear to lose you too, Kookie. Please... for me, stay away from those memories that could harm you."
Jungkook nods, his voice quiet but resolute. "Alright, Mom... I won't try to remember the past if that's what you want."

Next day afternoon at the government office, Jin is at his desk, working as an assistant to Min Yoongi, who happens to be Jisoo's brother-in-law. As Jin works, exhaustion begins to creep in, and he finds himself dozing off, his head slowly tipping forward, nearly colliding with his desk lamp.
Just before his face hits the lamp, a firm hand catches his face, steadying him. Jin jolts awake, startled to find Yoongi so close.

Yoongi glances around, his expression stern. "You know it's against the rules to sleep on the job, don't you?" he says, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes.
Jin bows his head, apologizing quickly, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... I..."
Yoongi raises an eyebrow, cutting him off. "Alright, just don't let it happen again."
Jin nods, trying to compose himself, silently vowing to stay alert from now on.
Jin still flustered as he straightens his papers, desperately trying to shake off the embarrassment. Yoongi watches him with a subtle smile, amused by Jin's awkwardness.
Yoongi says to Jin, "Book a nice restaurant nearby, and let our group members know that we'll be having lunch together."
Jin replies, "Alright. I'll message everyone in the group."
A little while later, Min Yoongi heads out to lunch with Jin and their group members. Jin trails behind, chatting with an Omega friend from his department as they make their way to the restaurant. Meanwhile, Yoongi arrives at the table and casually places his suit jacket on the chair next to him. As Jin approaches, he looks around for an open seat, and then notices Yoongi removing his suit jacket and glancing in his direction.
Jin realizes that Yoongi has saved a seat for him. Quietly, he takes the chair beside Yoongi, feeling a bit self-conscious but appreciative of the gesture. Yoongi doesn't say anything, but there's a subtle satisfaction in his eyes as Jin settles down next to him.
Jungkook and Namjoon arrive at the restaurant where they're supposed to have a business meeting. Realizing their clients haven't arrived yet, Jungkook decides to head to the washroom to freshen up, leaving Namjoon to wait at the table.
Meanwhile, in the restaurant's dining area, Jin is busy serving food to Yoongi and the other members of the team. As he leans over to place a dish on the table, one of the colleagues next to him accidentally knocks over a sauce bottle, splattering it all over Jin's crisp white shirt. Jin stiffens, looking down in dismay at the stain spreading across his shirt.
Yoongi notices immediately and says with a frown, "Jin, go to the washroom and try to clean that up."
Jin nods, embarrassed, and heads toward the restroom. Once inside, he quickly starts rinsing the sauce off his shirt in the sink, trying to scrub the stain out. As he leans over, focused on the task, his elbow accidentally knocks against the faucet handle a little too hard. To his horror, the handle breaks, and water starts spraying out uncontrollably in his direction.
The cold water hits Jin full-force, soaking him within seconds. He gasps, startled, and flails his hands, trying to block the relentless spray, but only ends up wetter than before.
"Oh God... Why me?" he mutters, feeling both frustrated and helpless. Looking around for help, he calls out in a small voice, "Excuse me... is anyone out there?"
Outside the restroom, Jungkook hears a faint voice and pauses, recognizing the familiar tone. Intrigued, he walks toward the door and peeks inside, spotting Jin in a mess of water, struggling to stop the faucet. Jungkook is taken aback, recognizing the Omega he had seen at the flower shop, now drenched and flustered, trying to fix the broken faucet.
Without a second thought, Jungkook steps inside, making his way to Jin with quick, confident strides. Jin's eyes widen in surprise as he realizes someone has come to help-someone tall, composed, and surprisingly familiar. Before he can say anything, Jungkook pulls out a handkerchief from his pocket, wraps it around the leaking faucet, and uses his strength to secure it in place. After a moment, the water flow finally stops, leaving the washroom quiet once more.
Jin, still trying to process what just happened, glances down at himself, acutely aware of how his soaked white shirt clings to his skin, revealing more of his silhouette than he's comfortable with. Embarrassed, he quickly turns his face away and wraps his arms around himself, trying to cover up as much as he can.
Jungkook, noticing Jin's discomfort, respectfully averts his gaze, giving Jin a moment of privacy. He steps back and turns as if to leave but pauses mid-step, clearly thinking something over. Finally, he shrugs off his jacket, holding it out to Jin with a neutral expression.
"Here," he says, his tone gentle but firm, "put this on."
Jin looks at the jacket, hesitant to accept such a gesture from a stranger, but Jungkook senses the hesitation. With a slight sigh, he tosses the jacket over to him, leaving Jin no choice but to catch it.
"Just take it," Jungkook says, his voice softening. "What you do with it afterward-burn it or keep it-doesn't matter to me."
Jin clutches the jacket in his hands, warmth spreading over him, though whether from gratitude or embarrassment, he can't quite tell. Finally, he slips it on, the material settling over his shoulders with a comforting weight. The scent of Jungkook's cologne surrounds him, crisp and clean, grounding him in the surreal moment.
Jungkook's eyes meet Jin's briefly before he looks away again, an unreadable expression in his gaze. Jin mumbles a quiet thank you, his cheeks flushing as he tries to gather himself, still overwhelmed by the unexpected kindness and attention.
With a nod, Jungkook gives him a final look before turning and walking out, leaving Jin standing alone in the washroom, still processing the brief but impactful encounter.
