Jin and Aunt Min were preparing lunch together. As Jin sliced vegetables, his mind drifted to the complicated feelings he had for Taehyung. The growing emotions he felt for Taehyung unsettled him, especially since he still loved Jungkook. But now, with his relationship with Taehyung ending, he wondered anxiously what the future held.
Lost in thought, Jin accidentally cut his finger.
"Aahhh..."
Aunt Min turned to him, concern etched on her face. "What happened, Jin? Oh dear, how are you cutting vegetables like this? Where's your mind at?"
Noticing how out of sorts he looked, she guided him to a chair and went to get the first aid kit. Gently, she began bandaging his finger.
Watching him closely, Aunt Min asked, "Are you worried about what we might say if we find out that your marriage is just a contract?"
Jin looked at her, shocked, his eyes widening as he struggled to find words.
"Aunt... I..."
She sighed, "When I was passing by your room, I overheard by mistake."
Aunt Min looked at Jin thoughtfully and said, "Jin... Sometimes we choose people who aren't right for us, and sometimes, unknowingly, we end up connecting with those who truly are."
"I don't know much about Jungkook," she continued, "but whenever I see him look at you, there's a fierce desire in his eyes-a need to have you, to win you over. That day, in his anger, his possessive behavior showed a hint of obsession."
"But Taehyung... he has no desire to win, no obsession to possess you. He simply wants to see everyone happy, especially you. With him, there's no demand, only a selfless wish to make you smile."
"In love, having someone isn't everything. Sometimes, true love means letting go, sacrificing your desires selflessly for the happiness of the one you love."
Her words resonated deeply with Jin, leaving him to ponder over the differences between the love Jungkook offered and the selfless care Taehyung showed.
As Jin walked out of the kitchen, deep in thought, he headed toward the living room, where Jungkook approached him. Gently placing a hand on Jin's shoulder, Jungkook kissed his forehead softly and asked, "Are you okay? You seem troubled."
Jin shook his head, responding, "No, it's nothing."
Jungkook continued, "Hyung has already applied to terminate your marriage contract. Soon, we'll be able to get married."
Jin, a bit taken aback, murmured, "Jungkook..."
Jungkook grinned, "And if your uncle and aunt don't agree, I'll whisk you away somewhere far, where it'll be just you and me."
Jin looked at him, surprised. Strangely, Jungkook's words didn't touch his heart as they once might have. Just then, Jin's gaze drifted toward Taehyung, who was outside in the yard, conversing warmly with Jin's relatives. Jin found himself unable to look away, his attention fixed on Taehyung even as Jungkook held him in an embrace and kept talking. Taehyung happened to glance Jin's way and, noticing Jin watching him, gave a gentle smile. Realizing what he was doing, Jin quickly averted his gaze and focused on Jungkook, saying, "Aren't you going to meet my aunts?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes, "Hyung's already talking to them. I don't need to. I just want to be with you."
Jin smiled faintly, "Jungkook, if you're going to marry me, you'll need to get to know them as their son-in-law, not leave everything to your hyung."
With that, Jin walked away, leaving Jungkook puzzled. What just happened? he thought, not understanding Jin's sudden change.
Later, everyone sat on the floor in a circle for a meal, with Jin between Jungkook and Taehyung. Aunt Min and Jin were serving the food when Taehyung noticed Jin's finger wrapped in a bandage. He spoke softly, "Jin, what happened to your finger? Where was your mind? Did you put antiseptic cream on it?"
