As Jin stepped into the room, Taehyung sat on the edge of the bed, watching him with a playful glint in his eyes. Jin, avoiding his gaze, busied himself at the wardrobe, pulling out warm clothes.

"Please," Jin murmured, not looking his way, "stop looking at me like that. It’ll only add more complications to our relationship."

Taehyung leaned forward, his voice steady and reassuring. "If complications arise, I’ll untangle them myself."

Jin sighed, his voice softening. "I got swept away in the moment before... Please don’t lead me astray again. When this contract ends, we’ll both have to face the pain of it."

But Taehyung’s expression turned resolute. "I won’t let you bear that pain alone. We’ll raise the child together."

The sincerity in his voice made Jin’s heart ache, yet he couldn’t deny the comfort he felt at Taehyung’s words.

Taehyung wrapped an arm gently around Jin's waist, pulling him close as he pressed a tender kiss to his cheek. In that soft touch, Jin felt an undeniable warmth, a gentleness in Taehyung’s love that he found impossible to ignore, no matter how hard he tried.

Jin’s voice came out in a quiet murmur, almost as if speaking any louder would shatter the moment. "Tae... you’re making things harder for me."

Taehyung’s gaze softened even more, his eyes reflecting his unwavering affection.

Taehyung took Jin’s hands in his, his gaze full of warmth and resolve as he softly said, “All I want is to give you every happiness you deserve. I want to make this bond whole, to call it what it truly is. I want to marry you, Jin.”

Hearing these words, Jin’s eyes filled with tears, his heart aching with both gratitude and sorrow. “It’s my greatest fortune,” he began, his voice trembling, “that someone with such a pure heart like you... would want someone like me as a life partner.”

He looked down, struggling to keep his composure as he continued, “To have shared in this beautiful mistake with you is something I consider a blessing... but I can’t marry you.”

Taehyung’s face filled with confusion and pain as he asked, “But... why? Is it because you don’t feel the same way? Am I lacking in something? Couldn’t I keep you happy? Couldn’t I take care of you and our baby?”

Jin’s voice broke, a quiet sadness heavy in his words. “It’s not that I don’t care for you... I care for you deeply. More than I can put into words.”

He paused, the memories of past heartbreak weighing down on him. “But the flaw isn’t in you, Taehyung. It’s in me. I’m an Omega who once fell into the trap of a false love, trusting an Alpha who only wanted to use me. I loved him so deeply, yet... he never saw me as anything more than a fleeting convenience.”

Jin’s voice grew softer, the pain raw and real. “Now, I carry his child, and fate has placed you by my side as my husband. But if this becomes real, if this becomes our life, I fear…”

He looked up at Taehyung, his voice breaking. “I fear one day people might say to you, or even to our child, that you’re not truly the father. That you’re just... his uncle. And they’ll remind you that this child belongs to your younger brother, not you.”

Taehyung, with love brimming in his eyes, gently wiped Jin’s tears away. Pulling him close, he whispered, “Let them say whatever they want, Jin. All that matters is you... and this life we’re building together. No one can take that away from us.”

Jin’s voice trembled as he tried to explain, the weight of his words pressing on both their hearts. “You’re not understanding my helplessness, Taehyung.”

He paused, gathering himself. “This contract… it’s made things so complicated for me, being caught between two brothers under the same roof.”

Looking away, Jin continued, his voice filled with pain. “If I marry you, it means I’d be here with our child, in the same house as… his real father, Jungkook. How could Jungkook bear to see his own child calling him ‘uncle’ instead of ‘dad’? How could he stand not being able to give his child all the love and joy that every father dreams of giving?”

Taking a deep breath, Jin went on, “Jungkook has hurt me deeply… he’s left scars on my heart that may never heal. But none of that changes the truth—that he is this child’s father. And no matter how much pain he’s caused me, he has the first right to his baby.”

Tears shimmered in Jin’s eyes as he looked at Taehyung with sorrow. “I’m so sorry…”

Taehyung stepped back slowly, the reality sinking in. For the first time, he understood the enormity of what he had been trying to do, the pain and conflicts it would create. Realizing his mistake in trying to separate Jungkook from his child, Taehyung’s face fell, his heart heavy with regret. Without a word, he turned and left the room, leaving Jin standing alone in silence.

The quiet night passed slowly, each of them lost in their own thoughts. Jungkook’s heart simmered with resentment; the image of Jin smiling softly at Taehyung haunted him, fueling a bitterness he couldn’t control.

Three days later, Taehyung was preparing to leave for a two-day business meeting in another city. Jin busied himself with packing everything Taehyung might need, meticulously ensuring nothing was missed.

As Taehyung finished getting ready, he approached Jin, softly calling his name, "Jin..."

Jin turned around, and for a moment, he couldn’t help but admire Taehyung, who looked effortlessly handsome in his simplicity. The sight stirred something deep within him, something gentle yet intense.

Taehyung smiled, “Jin… I’ll be gone for two days. Take care of yourself and the baby until I’m back.”

Jin’s emotions overflowed. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around Taehyung, pulling him into a warm embrace and placing a tender kiss on his lips. Taehyung was momentarily surprised but then returned the kiss, his heart filled with warmth.

Jin whispered, “Go safely and take care of yourself. Don’t worry about us.”

Taehyung’s eyes softened, “Alright… I’ll call you once I’m settled.”

“Okay…” Jin nodded.

With one last smile, Taehyung left the room. Jin walked him downstairs, saying goodbye alongside Grandma, watching Taehyung until he was out of sight.

After a while, Jin decided to visit his aunt’s house, but when he arrived, she wasn’t home. So he returned to his own place. The house had been closed up for days, and dust and cobwebs had started to gather. Jin took it upon himself to clean every corner, sweeping and mopping the floors, wiping down all the furniture until everything felt fresh and spotless.

Once he was done, he stepped out to the little shop across the street to buy some instant noodles. Finally, he settled down with a bowl in his hands, savoring each bite as he relaxed.

“Wow,” he murmured to himself with a satisfied smile. “It’s been so long since I last had noodles... this tastes amazing.”

For the first time in days, Jin felt a small moment of peace, enjoying the simple comfort of his favorite food.

Meanwhile, in his office, Jungkook dialed a number with a stern expression.

“He’s left,” Jungkook said curtly into the phone. “Now, you know what you need to do.”

There was a cold, calculated edge to his voice, one that hinted he was setting something into motion. His fingers tapped rhythmically on his desk as he awaited confirmation from the other end, a dark determination in his eyes.
