---------------------------------------------------------Two months went by just like that Kabir and Erica were inseparable. Kabir became clearly emotionally dependent on Erica, and everyone around them could see the change in him. Their relationship was in its full elements there was a lot of fun , teasing, flirting , care and obviously lots of sex. It was lovely all around.
---------------------------------------------------------
In the bathroom, Erica stood before the mirror, her heart racing as she stared at the pregnancy test resting on the counter. The seconds felt like hours as she waited for the results, her breath hitching in her throat. Slowly there appeared two lines , bold and undeniable. Her hand trembled as she picked up the kit. She was pregnant. Emotion swelled within her, a mix of fear and happiness.
With shaky legs she came outside in her room she took a moment to soak in the feeling and then moving to the window. She dialed Kabir's number, her heart pounding as she waited for him to pick up.
"Hello... Kabir," she said, attempting to keep her voice steady.
"Yes, baby..." His voice was warm, a balm to her frayed nerves.
"Kabir, where are you?"
"I'm outside for some work... I'm driving," he replied, the sound of the engine humming in the background.
"When will you come back?" she pressed.
"In an hour or two... why?" he asked.
"Nothing... just come early. I'm waiting for you," Erica said, ending the call with a sense of foreboding settling over her.
Erica sat on the edge of the bed, her mind racing back to her previous pregnancy, the vulnerability washing over her like a cold shower. One hour passed, suddenly the door swung open, and a servant rushed in, breathless.
"Mam... there.....there's a.... call....... They are saying .......Kabir sir met with...an.... an accident," the servant stammered, eyes wide with fear.
The ground felt like it had vanished beneath Erica's feet. Panic surged through her veins as she ran from the room, her heart pounding like a drum. She raced down the stairs, her mind a chaotic storm of dread and disbelief.
In the living room, she found Rajeshwar and all the family members clustered around, their expressions grim.
"Uncle... How... how's Kabir
..tell me he...is ..he is fine right?" Erica's voice was frantic as she grasped Rajeshwar's shoulders, shaking him gently, desperate for answers who was standing like a statue."Kabir.... is...is in a very
..critical ...con...condition," he stammered, his voice breaking. The words fell from his lips like stones, heavy and broken.Erica's world shattered in that moment. She felt the icy grip of fear clutching her heart. The thought of losing him was a darkness she couldn't bear to face.
Rajeshwar knelt on the ground, his body wracked with sobs. "Nothing should happen to Kabir... nothing!" he cried, his voice cracking with desperation. "He's the only memory of Surekha I have. I won't be able to live without him!"
Seeing his unforeseen state Anay knelt beside his father, wrapping a steadying arm around his shoulders. "Dad, you can't be weak. Get up! We have to go... he'll be fine. Be strong okay!!!! Please, let's go to the hospital !" With a gentle but firm tug, Anay pulled Rajeshwar to his feet. Together, they stumbled toward the car .
Smriti and Erica were sat inside, their faces pale and drawn. Anay helped his father into the backseat before rushing to his own car. the engine's roar echoing as the car went away .
he reached to his car and was sliding into the driving seat, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He fished it out, glancing at the screen, and felt a surge of irritation rise within him. "Anay sir , send our remaining payment," a cold voice came from the other side .
"What payment?" he snapped into the phone, his voice laced with fury. "He's still alive, you fucker!" Anay yelled in annoyance.

Flashback (One week ago)-
------------------------------------------In dimly lit room Anay slammed a photograph onto the wooden table.
"Here is the photo," Anay said, his voice taut with impatience.
The man across the table, a burly figure surrounded by a few henchmen, picked up the picture with a sneer. "We don't need a photo, Mr. Randhawa. We know him... he is Kabir Randhawa after all."
Anay leaned closer, his eyes narrowing. "I'll give you fifty lakh. Just get rid of him. I can't stand him any longer."
The man chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "That's too little for such a big job, mr. Anay . I want eighty lakh."
Frustration bubbled within Anay. He exhaled slowly, trying to keep his composure. "Fine. forty now, and forty after the job is done. But it has to look like an accident. Do you understand?"
The man leaned back, contemplating, his henchmen watching with predatory interest. After a moment, he nodded slowly. "Accident. You have a deal."

Present day-
---------------------All the family members including Erica's family reached the hospital.
Suddenly, the double doors swung open, and a doctor stepped into view, his face grave. "He is very critical," he said, his voice steady but laced with urgency. "He has severe injuries to the head. We're taking him for surgery. I can't say more right now."
Rajeshwar's heart sank as the words hung in the air. Behind him, Erica's mother trying to handle Erica , but Erica stood frozen, her face pale and her eyes wide she was too traumatized to respond.
As the doctor turned away, a nurse approached Rajeshwar with a small bag of belongings. "These are his," she said gently, handing it to him Rajeshwar was too devastated to respond Anay came forward and took it.
Erica's sister held her tightly, whispering reassurances, while her mother rubbed her back soothingly, trying to strengthen her. But Erica remained in a trance, staring blankly at the ground. Kabir voice of their last call was ringing in her ear she broke down profusely as the thought of loosing him grappled her with strength.
---------------------------------------------------------
4 hours later-
--------------------Rajeshwar paced the waiting area, his hearts racing with anxiety. Erica and other family members were also sitting in a panic state . After what felt like an eternity, the door swung open, and the surgeon emerged, his scrubs stained.
"We performed the surgery," he announced, drawing their attention like a beacon. "He is out of danger now. But Regaining full consciousness will take time; the wounds are quite deep. It's truly God's will that he survived such a fatal accident."
Anay's jaw clenched listening to this ....but Rajeshwar broke into a relieved smile, wrapping Anay in a firm embrace. "He's going to be okay," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. Anay hugged him back giving him a fake smile
Erica sank onto a bench, her hands instinctively covering her mouth. Tears streamed down her face, each sob a release of the tension that had built up over hours of waiting. It was a crying of relief as if the very act of crying could wash away the fear that had gripped her heart.
"Erica! Please ...Calm down... he is fine," Anay said softly, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. . She looked up, her eyes brimming with tears .
