As I blinked awake, the familiar haze of sleep dissipated, revealing the stark emptiness beside me. Kabir hadn’t come to bed again, and the realization sent a surge of irritation through me. Just then, I caught sight of the relentless downpour outside. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and padded toward the balcony, the sound of rain drumming against the pavement growing louder with each step. The sky was in a shade of gray, heavy clouds swirling ominously, with  flashes of lightning in between that illuminated the world for a split second. As I was watching A crack of thunder followed, sending a shiver down my spine, and I took a step back to inside, heart racing.

I made my way downstairs so that I could ask for Kabir . As I descended the final few steps, I spotted him near the entrance, his hand resting on his waist, deep in conversation with the driver. Kabir’s expression was of an annoyance ,  his gaze fixed on the stormy landscape outside. The driver responded without making eye contact, his voice low and steady, but I could tell they were discussing the day’s plans. The rain was relentless, and I could sense Kabir’s frustration at the prospect of work being delayed.

As I descended the last few steps, Kabir finished a call he was taking and he turned toward me. His gaze landed directly on the stairs,  just as he started walking toward me or I should say to the stairs . I came infront of him , I didn’t step aside; I stood my ground, blocking his path.

He raised an eyebrow, clearly irritated, and tried to move past me, but I didn’t budge. His lips tightened, and without a word, he took a step back, then moved to the side, slipping past me with fluid precision.

“Kabir,” I called, my voice sweet but with a hint of mischief.

He didn’t answer immediately, just glanced at me over his shoulder.

Bahut bura hua!” I teased, putting on my best innocent expression, though a naughty glint sparkled in my eyes. I bit my lip, trying hard to suppress a laugh as I watched the tension in his face. “Tsk tsk… Ab site pe kaise jaoge?”

The look on his face was priceless it was an angry glare to be precise but it seemed  very funny to me I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I let out a small giggle, my heart doing little flips at the thought of winning this little battle.

Kabir’s eyes narrowed in frustration. He turned abruptly, storming off toward the front door.

I stood there, practically glowing with triumph. He was stuck here, and that meant I had a whole day to work my magic. I grinned at the thought. Now I could finally get the forgiveness I needed… and who knows? Maybe even more.

“Oh my god… this rain is the best thing that’s happened to me in a while,” I whispered to myself, my heart racing with excitement. I could already feel the plan forming in my mind. After a good time of thinking about my next step ..

Turning on my heel, I practically skipped back to my room, eager to start my mission. I pushed open the door and saw the room was empty, which meant Kabir wasn’t in there. I started looking around,

And then I spotted him.

Kabir was on the floor, his bare chest glistening with sweat as he pushed himself up and down in flawless push-ups as if showing his disappointment because of rain in the form of exercise...his expression were annoyed but focus looked intact. The sight was enough to make me stop in my tracks. My breath caught in my throat. Was this really happening right now? The rain pouring outside, the storm raging, and Kabir—looking so damn perfect.
