One day has passed Erica sat on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the divorce papers that lay on the floor beside her. . Her fingers were lightly pressed against her more than a month pregnant belly , as if trying to shield the child from the chaos that surrounded her. Tears streaked her face, her body trembling with sorrow and confusion.

Her mind reeled as she thought about Kabir. The accusations, the heartache. But there was a gnawing feeling in her gut, a question that wouldn't leave her alone: The miscarriage, the money paid... Samaira , Everything was moving in her mind But for now, she could barely keep her thoughts straight as the silence in the room was broken by Diva's voice from the hallway.

"Di, someone is asking for you downstairs."

Erica wiped her eyes quickly, trying to gather herself. She didn't want anyone to see her like this-vulnerable, broken. But there was no time to compose herself. She stood slowly, her legs unsteady, and made her way down the staircase.

As she reached the bottom, her gaze fell on Tai was standing there with a distant expression on her face.

"Tai... you're here?" Erica said, surprise and relief mingling in her voice.

Tai's eyes hardened. "It would be better if you don't call me 'Tai,' let it remain for Kabir baba only." Her words were sharp, as though cutting through a veil of pretense.

Erica's brow furrowed in confusion. "Why are you saying this, Tai?"

Tai's gaze was filled with a sorrow that Erica had never seen before, a mixture of disappointment and disbelief. "When you came to the Randhawa mansion, I thought... you would take care of my Kabir. You would love him. I told you how his life had been shattered, how much he deserved someone who would stand by him. I thought you were that person. " Tai paused, taking a breath as though the words were heavy on her chest. "And now look at what you've done , after surekha madam's death I never even saw tears in his eyes and today I saw him crying , pleading in a vulnerable state , I can't even explain how bad I felt ....I don't want to get into your husband-wife problems, Erica. But how could you put such a shameful blame on my Kabir?"

Erica's heart sank. "Tai, but... it's true. The servant Rakesh... Kabir gave him money for my miscarriage, and-"

"Enough!" Tai's voice cracked like thunder. "Shut up. Don't you dare put such filthy blame on my son!" Her words were a lash that struck deep. "Yes, your miscarriage was no accident. But Kabir had nothing to do with it." Tai's voice softened for a moment, but her eyes were full of fire. "In fact, I'll tell you something you don't know. Smriti madam ... she's the one who-"

Tai turned abruptly, her eyes locking with the doorway. Erica didn't have time to react before Tai grabbed the wrist of another woman, a servant, and pulled her into the room.

"Tell her, Sunita. Tell her everything," Tai ordered.

The woman-Sunita-stood there nervously, wringing her hands. "Madam, I... I didn't want to say anything. But when I saw how badly Kabir sir was suffering, I couldn't keep quiet anymore."

Erica looked at Sunita, her pulse racing. She had no idea what was happening, what was coming next.

Sunita lowered her gaze, then spoke, her voice barely a whisper. "I was working upstairs when I saw Smriti madam deliberately pull the carpet from her feet. It happened so fast, I couldn't stop you in time. You fell, and I couldn't reach you. I wanted to help, but it was too late."
