After a week of hospital stay, Kabir finally returned home.

As the car pulled up to the entrance, he could see the entire mansion had been decorated with Flowers, candles, and fresh drapes hung in the windows. His father, Rajeshwar, had obviously spared no expense for his return.

Kabir's eyes scanned the grand foyer as he stepped inside. The house felt alive, yet there was an unsettling stillness. His gaze flicked across the mansion, landing on his father, who was standing nearby, smiling with a warmth .

"Where is Erica?" Kabir asked, his voice hoarse from disuse, his eyes searching the corners of the room.

Rajeshwar, trying to maintain an air of calm, smiled gently. "She must be around, Kabir. But first, you should go to your room and rest."

Kabir slowly moved his feet toward the staircase. His body still ached. But his mind-his heart-only had one question. Where was Erica?

Once in his room, Kabir collapsed onto the bed, his exhaustion overwhelming him.

He called out again, his voice barely a whisper. "Tai, where is Erica?"

Tai, appeared at the door, concern written across her face. "Baba!" she exclaimed softly, . "She is... she is making something for you, Kabir. Just rest, she's coming."

Kabir blinked slowly, trying to focus. His body screamed for rest, but his mind refused to let him. "Where... where is she, Tai?" he asked again, his voice more insistent this time.

Tai sighed, knowing Kabir's condition and his emotional need. She placed some medicine in his palm. "Take this, Baba. You need to sleep. She'll be here when you wake up."

Kabir reluctantly swallowed the medicine, his eyelids growing heavy. The world around him blurred into nothingness as he slipped into sleep.

**Hours Later**

Kabir awoke, groggy and disoriented. He glanced around, his heart pounding as the room seemed emptier than before still no sign of Erica.

He pushed himself up from the bed, his legs unsteady. With faltering steps, he made his way to the door, desperate to find her.

"Erica!" His voice cracked as he called out. "Erica!"

He wandered down the hallway, his footsteps echoing in the silent mansion. "Erica!" His voice grew louder, more frantic.

But there was no response.

Just as he reached the staircase, a familiar voice came from behind him.

"She's not here."

Kabir turned, Smriti standing at the top of the stairs, her expression somber. His frustration boiled over. "What do you mean? -where is she?"

Smriti slowly descended the stairs, her face etched with worry. "I mean, Kabir," she said softly, "after your accident... Erica was devastated. She couldn't stay here. Anay-" She paused, her eyes clouding with sadness. "Anay really took care of her. You know, in ways that none of us could. But for the last two days, she's been completely exhausted from everything... and this morning, she left."

Kabir's mind reeled at her words."She left?" he repeated, the disbelief in his voice palpable.

Smriti shook her head, her eyes filled with fake sorrow. "She couldn't stay, Kabir. I think She needed space."
