Erica walked into the Lifeline Hospital, her heart pounding with an urgency she couldn't explain. A sense of foreboding that clung to her like a second skin.Erica pushed through the sliding glass doors of Lifeline Hospital. a storm of emotions swirling within her. She had to know the truth about Samira ,She clutched the report tightly in her hands, She needed answers.
Finding her way to the reception desk, she asked for the doctor mentioned on the report . The receptionist directed her to the cabin , and soon enough, she stood before a woman in a white coat who looked up from her desk with a professional smile.
"How can I help you?" the doctor asked, her voice soft but polite.
Erica wasted no time. "This report is your patient," she said, placing it on the doctor's desk with trembling hands.
The doctor took the report without a second glance, scanning it quickly before meeting Erica's gaze. "Yes! Samira Ahuja is my patient," she replied, her tone indifferent, as though it was another routine file.
Erica's chest tightened. She couldn't breathe. This was real.
"Is there any problem?" the doctor asked, seeing Erica's sudden shift in demeanor.
Erica forced herself to meet the doctor's eyes, her voice cold as she asked, "Is this report true?"
The doctor frowned at her question but answered, "Yes, and What kind of question is this?"
Erica's hands trembled as she leaned forward, urgency creeping into her voice. "Can you tell me the details of her pregnancy? Is she pregnant even now?"
The doctor's face stiffened. "Sorry, I can't discuss my patient's details with any outsider."
"Look... it's very important. Please, you have to tell me everything. It's a serious matter," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper.
The doctor hesitated, eyes narrowing as she sized Erica up. Perhaps it was the desperation in her voice or the sheer force of her presence, but after a long moment, the doctor relented.
"Samira was pregnant," the doctor began, her voice clinical but not unkind. "But now she is not. She opted for an abortion about 14-15 days ago here."
Erica felt the world tilt beneath her feet. The words pierced her heart like a thousand knives, but she couldn't stop herself from asking the question that had already formed in her mind. "Was there anyone with her during the abortion?"
The doctor nodded, her expression softening. "Of course. Her partner was here. He handled all the formalities. He was very supportive."
Erica's stomach lurched. "Do you know him?" she asked, her voice trembling now.
"Of course! It's Kabir Randhawa ," the doctor said casually, as if speaking the name of a well-known figure was nothing extraordinary. "He was here the whole time, by her side. He seemed very caring... a very supportive partner, I must say. He was there for her, every step of the way."
Erica felt the room spin around her. Kabir. Her Kabir. The man who had told her over and over that she was his everything, had been with another woman.
"I guess samaira didn't want the baby.... otherwise he seemed very sweet."
Erica's voice cracked as she spoke, barely able to hold herself together. "He made her the villain, didn't he? He made it seem like it was her choice, her fault..."
The doctor glanced at Erica, her face unreadable. "I don't know about that. All I can tell you is what I saw. He seemed like a man who truly cared for her."
Erica's chest tightened, a jagged tear ripping through her heart. She had been fool all along -Kabir was good at this. He was good at making everyone around him believe his lies, at hiding the truth behind a facade of care and concern. He had played her, just as he had played Samira.
Tears blurred her vision, but Erica didn't let them fall. She had no more tears left for him. No more time to waste on a man who was never hers to begin with.
As she turned to leave the room, her steps slow and heavy, the weight of the truth crashing down on her, Erica whispered to herself, "He never loved me. Not really. Not the way he made me believe."

The grand mansion loomed before Erica. Each step she took felt heavier than the last. As soon as she crossed the threshold, Anay rushed toward her, his voice a rapid-fire barrage of concern.
"Erica! Where have you been? Dad was asking for you! I called you so many times!" He paused, his tone shifting to a casual note. "By the way, your husband is coming home this evening."
"Anay, we were friends once, before everything changed. You said that day you would be honest with me. So tell me, what kind of documents do you have regarding Kabir?" Erica said in a gloom
Anay's face twisted in shock. "How do you know about this?"
"Just tell me the truth, Anay!" she urged, desperation lacing her voice.
"I don't want to break your heart, Erica!" he replied, his expression clouded with concern. "The truth is... it's going to be hard for you to digest."
"Show me the documents! Damn it, can't you understand?" Erica's voice rose, echoing off the mansion's high ceilings.
Anay nodded slowly, his demeanor shifting as he gestured for her to follow him. He led her to his room, the air thick with tension. He retrieved a file, casting a glance at its contents before handing it to her.
Erica's hands trembled as she opened the file, her eyes scanning the contract inside. The words blurred as she read: after acquiring the entire property and business, Kabir would divorce her. His signature was unmistakable, a stark reminder of betrayal. Tears streamed down her face as she succumbed to the weight of the revelation.
"Erica, I'm so sorry!" Anay reached out, but she recoiled, the pain too raw for comfort. "I never wanted to hurt you like this. But the truth about your husband is... it's ugly."
"You know Erica when samaira told me that Kabir made plan for your miscarriage I wanted to tell you everything.. remember I came to you ..but you were so fragile and totally blinded by him ...so I didn't said anything.
Anay's expression softened, guilt etched across his features. " but I investigated, Erica. I found the truth. Look."
He thrust his phone toward her, revealing a video. A servant, bruised and battered, sat trembling in a chair. Anay gripped the man's hair, his voice a thunderous demand. "Tell me how Erica fell! Tell me the truth!"
"Ka...Kabir sir... he paid me to make it happen," the servant stammered, desperation in his eyes. "I didn't want to do it, but he threatened me. I tried to stop it, but...he did listen ..i tried many attempts but all faild but somehow the carpet plan worked.please leave me Anay sir ...I am a poor man I can't fight him"he said joining his both hands in a tumbling voice".
"I.....I.... made this video actually to...to blackmail Kabir but before I could do it , this happened he said in a hesitated voice
Erica's heart sank as she watched the confession unfold, the reality crashing down around her. The phone slipped from her grasp, clattering to the floor as she dissolved into tears.
Just then, Smriti entered the room, her cheerful greeting faltering as she took in the scene. "Anay, have you ea-"
"What happened? Erica, why are you crying?" Smriti rushed to her, concern etched on her face as she held Erica's shoulders.
"She found out about Kabir and Samaira," Anay said quietly, his voice heavy with sorrow.
"Oh, my baby!" Smriti enveloped Erica in a tight embrace, her own tears spilling over. "I know it's hard for you, my child, but we all knew the truth . I tried to give you hints, but you never understand ."
Erica leaned into her mother-in-law's warmth, the comfort of the embrace a small solace amidst the storm of betrayal swirling around her. The truth was out, but the heartache had only just begun.
