chapter twenty nine

POV Jimin

I rub my wrists as I leave the police station, it was probably the most unserious fight scene the officers have ever watched in their whole lives, and one of them even patted my back with empathy

The first thing I do as soon as I get out is to jump in a taxi and make it to the Montgomery hotel, where my mother is staying

I can't believe that Emily prevented me from seeing my own mother, this woman lost a neuron I fear

I only have to give her name at the reception for them to guide me to her room cause apparently she was expecting me for days now

The receptionist calls her first to announce me and when the elevator stops, I find her waiting for me at the doorstep

" Omo! Jimin-ah " she says with obvious concern through her eyes

I hug her immediately and I don't know why I start to cry in her arms

She doesn't interrupt me and just cuddle me until I calm down

" I'm just...a little bit too happy to see you eomma, I'm sorry " I sniff

" Let's go inside " she proposes

I follow her inside her hotel room, and I can see how she arranged everything in the closet as if it was her own house and she was never going to leave one day

" I called you and I thought you were never going to come, I wanted to visit you at your place and realized that..."

I sigh

That she never knew where I live

" I went to the museum...but you weren't there apparently " she finishes

" I'm here now, I'm sorry if I worried you " I utter as I sit down in the integrated living room that is part of the room

" Jimin...tell me, I can see something is not going well with you " she says, wiping the last tear mark on my face

" I... I'm honestly going through a hard time right now " I say cautiously

" Is that cause your fiancée cheated on you ? " She asks

I open my mouth to ask how did she know about that but then remember that she told me Jungkook told her things

" Well... it's actually more than just that, but I don't wanna talk about Emily now, I just wanna...breath "

I don't want to go into the details about what is going on in my life right now

It's total chaos

But I don't want her to worry even more than me

I know she would just tell me to get on the next flight with her and leave LA to go back to Busan or Seoul

I could actually do that if there weren't any Suki left behind

I still need to find a way to protect her from Emily, the rest, I'll take care of it

She nods slowly

We both remain silent for a long moment, but it's not awkward at all, it was needed

" How's Appa doing? " I finally ask to change the topic

" You know him already, locked in business " she responds

We remain silent again and even though I told her that I didn't want to talk about Emily she asks

" So, are you still getting married to that woman? " She asks, pouring herself some tea
