I had a sparkle red Alora gown that squeezed my curves. Cleavage perky, my hair is bone straight. Neutral makeup done, eyelashes full. I can't fight the fact that I look stunning, but this is bittersweet. To attend an event where I'm supposed to smile while held captive? What to do?
"What do you do when you're backed against a wall?" She took the words right out of my mind, putting the finishing touches on my foundation. I notice her more. She seems a bit aged like Cage yet still beautiful like fine wine. "Crying isn't an option. Then I will have to start over. And that will be tragic for both of us. The only other solution is to spaz out." The lady smiled at me. "Be gorgeous while doing it. If they see, he doesn't have it under control. The deal is off." She packed up her things, keeping an emotionless expression as her crew followed suit.
"Why are you helping me?"
She flipped her hair and took a glance at Marshall. "Because I'm tired of his toys," and exit the room without another word.
The guard stood at the door. "It's time."
Marshall is beautiful in her blue velvet gown. She also looks incredible. The color matches her snow blonde hair. "Ready?" I asked her.
"As I have ever been. You look gorgeous, by the way. Red suits you."
"You too. The royal blue goes perfectly with your aqua hazel eyes."
"We are on Alpha Cage time." The guard blurted again. Her and I locked arms with empathic sights, walking out at the same time.
I need time to think of a plan. "I need to go." I demanded his attention.
"It can wait."
I turned my lip. "Fine, I'll go in this dress." I paused and concentrated.
He growled. "Five minutes."
"Good boy." I entered the bathroom to come up with some ideas on how to piss him off. Spaz out, huh? Kicking the back of a limo seat could be an option. I practice my calm chaos swings in the air, flipping the mirror off. That's doing too much. They'll take me away. It can't be obvious. I guess I could do what I've always done. Be a smart ass, well, in a different way. Okay, I got a plan. We wandered into a hall much different than the last one. It was brightly colored. Marble floors, long cream color draps, white table clothes, and rose gold dishes with floral designs. They are doing it big for the importance.
The guards separated us as they guided me closer to where Cage sat. Why on earth would he want me close to him? Anyhow, this is aligned. The best way to get him. He gave me a weird charming smile as he stood, destroying my stomach with nausea. "I prefer you to be the jack rabid wolf you've always been." His smile dropped as mine raised with pleasure, enjoying how he is attempting to keep it together. She was right. He is on his best behavior, but why?
He smiled like a politician attempting to appreciate the crowd and pulled out my chair. I sat as he lowered to my ear. "I need you to be on your best behavior. And in return, I won't torture him."
"That's fine and dandy, but the delusion in you is hard to watch. You think you can, ha." I sipped my water.
"I know what you're doing. Enjoy this fight alone." He sat, reaching for his wine to taste. The intrusive eyes near us observed as he fixed his tie, clearing his throat, ignoring me completely. They do seem important, but who are these people? I've never seen them before to even think they are anyone. He has an uncontrollable temper. All I have to do is press a few buttons. It might lead to my murder for this scheme, but you know, if I have to go down, I'm going down, making sure my middle finger is locked and pointing. Screw his bogus dinner.
My father came like a swift suit sitting by my side. "You've met my daughter? Right, Mr. Wayne?" His hand on my shoulder.
"Hmm." The man took a quicker sip, then placed his drink aside from him, dabbing his lips. "I don't think I have. My name is Andrew Wayne, and yours dear?" his hand stretched out.
I gazed at it and then at him. "Gemma Woods." I kept a straight face as John, my father, squeezed my shoulder. Then, he reached out to shake his hand. "But you can call me Gemma."
"What a polite young lady." he smiled.
I smiled back, "it's force-."
"-of nature so naturally propelled, enjoying you and the guest. I hope you're having a lovely dinner." John covers my truth with a subtle detour. I could never know what he was cooking up in that dome of his. He does it so well. Bora is a true family member, the family I used to have, the family I long for. If there is no one else, I can for sure count on him.
I lift the glass to my lips, getting lost in the water's smooth motions. "Your eyes are everything." Waynebegged for my attention as I slanted my vision upward at that bold compliment. "I never thought I'd meet a wolf with such exquisite eyes."
"And you never will."
He was taken aback. "What do you mean, you're a wolf, it's plain as day. The eyes, the confidence. You even sit up right like a doll."
"It's heterochromia. Nothing great. It's a genetic condition." I sipped my water. "With manners."
The confusion was written on his face as his chin directed at Cage. "You said she was a wolf?"
"Are you calling me a liar?" his teeth bared a low growl spitting through them that shakened me, I straightened in my seat watching him give that man a dead stare. He's on edge, realizing I have gained ground, I bet it's because of my behavior. He ain't so scary and never had been. Now it's time to stick it where it hurts.
I pulled my wig off and slapped it on the table. Cage Wife Larissa is a wonderful makeup artist. She made me appear bald as I scratched it to add emphasis on how I'm not a wolf. That man jumped out of his seat, appalled. "This is not what we agreed, Soren." He snapped his neck at him. "You've promised me a tamed werewolf. Well, she's nothing but a bald woman."
"Rude." I folded my arms.
Everyone stood up frightened. "What is this?" A woman in a plum suit clutched her purse. Cage sat there like I'd drawn his last straw. He slant his eyes at me.
I tried to remove myself from the table, but he clasped my arm. "Going so soon? I thought we were playing?"
"Let me go!"
"Hey, let my daughter go." My father tried to pry his hands open, but he slapped him, knocking him back in his chair.
"Now, where were we?" We were interrupted by a ramming engine outside. "What the hell is that?" Loud motorcycles outside causing ruckus hearing pipeshots. Everyone was startled at a stand still. "Don't just stand there! Go see what it is!" Cage demands his guards, letting go of my wrist.
