Secrets

Secrets hide in whispered tone,
In shadows cast when we're alone.
Silent ghosts in darkened rooms,
Locked away in quiet tombs.

They slip like whispers through the night,
Buried deep, kept out of sight.
A flicker here, a glance away,
The words we don't let see the day.

Some are light, like fleeting dreams,
Falling softly, gentle streams.
Others weigh like stones we bear,
Heavy truths we cannot share.

Secrets build like walls within,
Guarding all we hold within.
They make us whole, they make us break—
A quiet burden, for our own sake.

But sometimes, when the night is still,
And courage rises, against our will,
We let them go, we let them free,
And find ourselves in honesty.
