Moving houses is not easy.
It's the fact that I've lived in this house for seven years and I've gotten so attached to it, it's hard to be seeing it for the last time.
At least this new house is closer to the college I'm starting at soon.
That's not why we moved though, that's for a different reason.Anyways, I took one last look at the house and then got in the car next to my sister, looking at it 'till it was out of sight.
This new house, it's modern and all, but it'll take a lot of time to adjust mentally and be able to call it home without thinking of our now old house.
The good part of it is it's closer to town, close to the train station, has a shop literally down the road and it's closer to my college. Although it is a little further from my sister's school. Not by that much though. It was less than a ten minute drive and I got out, breathing in the fresh air, preparing for the next few years in our brand new home.
"Here we are!" my dad said joyfully.
"y/n, can you take this box?" my dad asked."Oh, hello! You must be our new neighbours! This is my son, Seungheon. He can help you unpack, right Seungheon?" a middle aged lady walked up to us from the house to the right with her son who looked like he was dragged into all this.
"Of course." the so-called Seungheon said.
"Oh, thank you very much, that's so kind of you! It's nice to meet you both." my dad said, shaking hands with both of them, and we all got round to it.
Her son was actually really cute, not gonna lie, I might've accidentally stared for a bit too long. Hopefully I can get to know him while he helps us pack.
"I never got your name." he said as we walked side by side, each with a box in our hands.
"It's y/n." I told him.
"Oh, that's a pretty name." he said, making me low-key blush. "Thank you." I said.An hour in and we've been talking non-stop. We have a lot more in common than I thought. We were unpacking in my room and with his help, to t was a breeze.
I found out that he has a passion for writing lyrics and rapping, and that his hobby is dancing and he's got a large group of friends, and that his brother is in a different city in university so he moved out, and I also found out that he's also going to be starting at the same college as me in a few weeks! That means we'll meet more often, which I'm really happy about.
Before we knew it, it was night time and we had to say bye to Seungheon.
"I'll be back tomorrow at ten then. Have a good sleep!" he said, waving and leaving to go back to his house.I could barely sleep as I already couldn't wait for Seungheon to come back in the morning so we can talk more.
I awaited the ringing of the doorbell and finally got to open it and see Seungheon's bright face at the doorstep.Today we were unpacking in the kitchen, so Seungheon got to know my parents a lot today as well. Then my sister asked for some help in her room so me and Seungheon went to help her, and he got to know her a little bit as well.
The next day was the last time he came to help unpack, even though my parents told him it was fine. He insisted, and we were all greatful for his help.
But then from the next day on, we texted day and night constantly.
Anyways, it took us about two weeks to fully be done with moving with everything packed out and set. I tried to make my room look cosy and I had to give myself a pat on the back because I actually succeeded. Credit to Sengheon too because he helped a lot.
That day, Seungheon asked me how the unpacking is going and I told him we're all finished. Funnily enough, an hour later, we get a ring on our doorbell, and it was Seungheon's parents with a plate of cookies for us as a little housewarming gift. It was very sweet of them.
They stayed over for a little bit and they had a chat with my parents. In the meantime I texted Seungheon to ask him where he was and he told me he was out with his friends, but he can "come round tomorrow" if I want.Oh my Goooodddd.
"yhhh okkk" I excitedly texted back.
Once Seungheon's parents left I asked my parents if it was okay for Seungheon to come around tomorrow, and they said he's welcome anytime so I passed on the message to Seungheon.
The next day, at around four o'clock the doorbell rang, and I could only assume that it was one person. Lee Seungheon. My lips grew into a wide smile as I hugged him warmly which he returned and we stepped in, grabbing an ice lolly each and heading to my room.
"Wow, your room looks amazing. We did a good job." he said, offering a high five which I obviously accepted.
We had a nice chat as usual, and he showed me some of his rapping live as if I was VIP at a concert (I'd only ever heard it through videos he sent me), and it was amazing. It's like his voice was intricately crafted for rapping, it's so incredible and nice to listen to. He got a bit shy afterwards but I clapped and endlessly told him how good that was which he seemed happy about.
It carried on like this nearly every single day from then on. He'd ring my doorbell at around 4 each day and we'd either chit chat in my room for hours, watch a movie or go out. Rarely would we ever do baking (and fail), though it's always fun.
During this period I developed feelings for Seungheon, like romantically, and a lot. He was just perfect, literally the standard, he's everything I could ask for, and we literally can't stop yapping to eachother. But I'm not sure if he feels the same or not...
Two months later, I was in the living room, chatting with my sister about her school life and it was 3:57pm.
Seungheon should be coming any minute now.
Twenty minutes later, nothing. Ten more minutes, still nothing. He usually texts when he can't make it and so do I, maybe I forgot to check a text?
No, he should be coming. Maybe something urgent came up.
It was getting to 5pm and finally, there was a knock on the door. I let out a sigh of relief that he was finally here. I was ready to scold him though.
I opened the door and expected to see Seungheon's bright face there and greet him with a smile but it was immediately wiped off my face because... it was the police instead.
"Hello, we're investigating an incident that happened to your neighbour, Lee Seungheon. He was injured in this neighbourhood at around 11:45pm last night. Did you happen to see or hear anything unusual in the area at that time?" the police asked.
My heart sank. Completely.
That's around when Seungheon left my place last night... Why did he not just go straight home?!"What- no I didn't see or hear anything, I'm sorry. But he did leave my house at around that time yesterday. But what happened to him?" I asked, completely panicked.
"He was attacked by a dog, ma'am."
"WHAT?! Is- is he okay?!" I asked them urgently.
"He's in hospital at the moment, ma'am, his most severe injuries were on his foot and abdomen."
"Who is it, darling?" my mum asked, her face dropping as she saw the police at our doorstep.
"Hello ma'am, we're here from Seodaemun police station, is it okay if we ask you a few questions about an incident that happened in this neighbourhood last night?" the police asked my mum, showing their IDs.I impatiently waited for my mum to be done as she drove us to the hospital. My mind was somewhere else, I was just hoping dearly that Seungheon was okay...
