~~43: ENHYPEN Jungwon - Have It (Vampire AU) Pt.1~~

Jungwon's POV
"Dad I'm home!"
"Son, how come you're back so late? Have you finally found yourself a mate?"
"No dad, it's just no one smelled really fresh tonight for some reason. I ended up drinking some bartender's blood before some other guy got to him first. Honestly I should've let him take him, he wasn't even that tasty."
"Well, in the end all that matters is that you had dinner right?"

I just got back home from hunting in my city for some blood on a Saturday night. I have to do it every other night until I find myself a trustworthy and willing mate who I can take blood from regularly. Getting a mate takes quite a bit though. You have to find someone who's willing to be your mate, someone who's right for you and someone who's blood you actually like and could drink from regularly and not get tired of it. That's very important. Then you have to mark then with a permanent bite mark somewhere on their body where it's visible. To do that, the vampire must keep their teeth in their mate's skin for atleast ten seconds, staying completely still and digging their teeth in as deep as they can and yes, it is very painful for the mate and yes it does sting a bit, but it's just how it works.

It ain't that fun I can't lie. Some nights when no one's blood smells good then it's just boring, but when everyone's smells good then I'm indecisive.

It's tough, being a vampire. Sometimes I hate it but then again sometimes I love it.

"I'm off to bed now dad. Night." I said to my dad before heading to my room to sleep. I took a shower before going out hunting 'cause I figured I'd be sleepy afterwards anyway.

Two nights after that, I did the same, went round searching for fresh blood. I don't know why but that night, I was extremely hungry. I was trying so hard to contain myself. I think my eyes were even red the whole time while searching. But it's fine, people know about vampires, it's nothing rare or new.

I searched for about ten minutes and again, no one smelled that good. Then I went into a car park and suddenly, the sweetest smell hit my nostrils. It smelled like heaven. I followed the smell as I felt my fangs coming out without me having to extract them. When I reached the smell, what I saw was something I never wanted to see, ever.
"Hey, get off her you asshole!" I yelled.

I witnessed a girl being assaulted by some guy who looked higher than the goddamn clouds.
I picked him up by his collar and you could immediately see his eyes shift to being filled with horror.
"Don't ever assault a girl. People like you deserve nothing but bad, bad shit. Consider it karma."
I said to him in a stern voice and then digging my teeth into his neck as he bled out on the floor, not saying a word after that.
"And your blood tastes fucking revolting anyway." I said as I tossed him away a couple meters away.

I looked over and the helpless girl looked terrified. Oh fuck, I must've intimidated her even more. Shit, she's the one who's blood smells so amazing..
"Are you okay?" I asked in a much softer voice now, trying my hardest to contain myself. I don't know if my eyes were red at this point 'cause I could still smell her blood, but it was actually easier for me to contain myself this time 'cause I saw this girl in such a terrible state.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise. And he won't anymore either." I said, looking over at the guy laying in a pool of his own blood.

"Th- thank you so much" she said in a shaky voice before hugging me tightly.

I actually got a bit surprised by this move because I don't even remember the last time I hugged someone. My friends and I don't really ever properly hug, and my dad and I don't either, so this felt... actually really good.
But, I'm glad I could save this poor girl.

"Now, I know you're hurt because I could smell your blood from two blocks away."
"Yeah, he dug his nails into my legs.." she said, pulling up her shorts ever so slightly, making the marks more visible.
That was a mistake because that made me nearly go crazy. The sweet sweet blood, it was Infront of my eyes.
