" That must mean you write Pokemon poetry too! Let's hear a poem, please!" Dawn begged as she clasped her hands together.

Gary turned to her and raised a brow. " Huh?"

It was a good ( or bad) thing Ash was there.

Because he came to Gary's rescue.

Kinda.

Ash turned to Dawn. " Oh, you see, Gary specializes in having the most sassiest attitude ever, bringing me down, thinking I'm a loser, and let's see.... uh.... oh yeah! And having his grandpa say EVERYTHING about Gary. ' Gary did this, Gary did that'...."

Gary raised a brow at Ash too. " Huh?!"

Brock cleared his throat. " He's also a Pokemon Reasercher, so he doesn't have time to be a poet."

" No no no, he has ALL the time in the world." Ash corrected. " As compared to a trainer. The other day the Professor called and he told me a poem and when he asked if it was good I said I don't specialize in that and he gave me a whole lecture."

" Huh?"

" Are you just gonna say ' huh?' this whole time, Gary?"

" Huh?"

Ash sighed. " Yep. Ah well. Might as well start talking about the time he-"

" Don't you dare, Ashy Boy!"

Ash smirked. " Ah, you're not just gonna keep repeating ' hUh?'"

" Huh?"

Ash sighed. " Here we go again...."

He stopped and reached into his pocket, taking out a paper. " Now, let me read the great Gary's poem. Ahe-"

Gary snatched the paper out of his hands. " No, Ash, you are not going to do so!"

" Meh." Ash said as he shrugged his shoulders. " I know it from heart."

Gary's head drooped. " Here we go again...."

Ash cleared his throat dramatically, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Ahem. 'Oh, wondrous Pokémon that roam the land, each one a partner so grand. But none as smart, none as rare, as Gary Oak with perfect hair!'"

Gary's eyes widened, and he waved his hands in protest. "Hey, that's not even close to anything I wrote!"

"Oh, come on, Gary! I'm just doing the world a favor, reciting your 'poetry' from memory!" Ash shot back, his grin growing wider.

Dawn laughed, clearly entertained. "I didn't realize your poem would be a tribute to yourself, Gary!"

Gary sighed, giving in to the joke. "Oh, very funny, Ash. Remind me again why we're friends?"

Ash just chuckled and continued, "'Oh, Pokémon of every type and size, behold my talent with your eyes! For none can match my battle style, nor my famous, charming smile!'"

"Alright, that's enough," Gary groaned, though he couldn't help the amused smile tugging at his lips. "Where do you even come up with this stuff?"

Ash shrugged with a grin. "Hey, I'm just reflecting the great Gary Oak, Pokémon researcher extraordinaire. All of Pallet Town would agree with me!"

Brock and Dawn exchanged a look before both burst out laughing, and even Gary had to admit defeat, shaking his head with a smirk. "Fine, Ashy-boy. Just remember, payback's coming, and I don't need poetry to beat you in a battle."

Ash crossed his arms, still smiling. "Bring it on, Oak. I'll still be the one winning."
