" Here you go!" Richie said as he held a spoon in front of Ash's mouth.

" And here you go." Ash replied as he held a spoon in front of his cousin's mouth.

Gary and Oak were just watching, Gary holding a spoon of cereal and Oak with coffee.

" Is this a nightmare?" Gary asked.

" Afraid not, my boy." Oak replied.

" You have the first bite!" Richie said.

" No, you have the first bite."

" I insist."

" I insist."

" I insist."

" I insist."

" I insist."

Gary groaned. " This is gonna take all day ."

" You have the first sip of juice!" Ash said as he held a carton to Richie's lips.

" No, you have the first sip!" Richie countered.

" I insist."

" I insist"

" I insist."

" I insist"

" I insist"

Professor Oak sighed and set down his coffee, rubbing his temples. "Boys, if you keep insisting like this, neither of you will have breakfast before lunch."

Gary took a deep breath, then leaned in with a dramatic groan. "How about... you both take a bite at the same time?"

Ash and Richie blinked at each other, then grinned as if Gary had just solved the most complex riddle in the world.

"Good idea!" they chorused.

They both opened their mouths, bringing their spoons toward each other's faces. But then, at the last second, they froze.

"Wait," Ash said. "What if you get a bigger bite than me?"

Richie's eyes widened in realization. "You're right! That wouldn't be fair."

Gary smacked his forehead. "Or... hear me out... you could each take your own bite?"

The boys exchanged a long, contemplative look, then nodded slowly as if Gary had just suggested the most groundbreaking idea.

"Ohhh... okay!" they said, finally turning to their own cereal bowls.

Gary and Oak shared a glance of relief as the cousins finally dug into their breakfast.

"Thank Arceus," Gary muttered. Oak chuckled, patting Gary's shoulder.

But just as everyone started to enjoy the peace, Ash looked up, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Richie, what if we both have the same sip of juice at the same time?"

Richie's eyes lit up. "Genius!"

Gary's spoon clattered into his bowl as he slumped in defeat. This was going to be a long morning.
