" Blastoise, come on out!" Gary called.
" What are you doing?" Goh demanded.
" I think battling it is our best plan."
" Wait!" A distant voice yelled. " Ash! Come back, please!"
Ahead of them and below Mew, two siblings were running. The first was one wearing a Master's Eight wristband, a hat, shorts, blue jacket and white shirt. And the girl behind him, running, was wearing a straw hat, purple shirt and pink shirt with flowers prints on it. She was wearing white shorts, and she was holding a phone.
" Ash!" The girl yelled as she stopped to catch her breath. " Mom's gonna be fine! Professor Oak said so!"
" But you know professor Oak could be wrong!" The boy replied as he sat down behind a tree and buried his face in his legs.
The girl sighed and turned.." I know." She said quietly. " I just don't want to think about it."
Suddenly, her phone rang. The girl looked at the ID and sighed, picking the phone up.
" Yes,. Professor Oak?" She asked, biting her lip and closing her eyes.
A few moments later, her eyes snapped open. " W.... What do you mean?!"
Her Eevee ran to her side, and the girl just sat down.
" Thank you. I.... I'll tell Ash."
Then she ended the call, put the phone on the ground, and buried her face in her legs. " My life is falling apart....."
" Mew?"
The girl looked up. " Oh, hi girl. How ya doin'?"
" Mew? Mew mew mew?"
The girl looked away. " I... it's nothing."
" Wisy?"
The girl turned, " Gary? What are you...."
Then she saw Quillon, Danika, Horace and Goh and understood. " Oh."
She turned to Ash. " How Ash? Remember that promise you made Goh?"
" Y... yeah."
" We might not be able to keep that promise but no one thought this would hap-"
Before she could finish, the ground shook, and debris fell everywhere.
" We have to go." Gary said urgently.
Wisty shook her head. " No, we don't."
She turned to Mew. " Mew- mew, use revive!"
Ash looked up. " Mew- mew?" HE mumbled, then gasped. " You mean-"
Wisty nodded. " Yep."
Ash shook his head, amazed. " You never fail to amuse me."
" I aim to please."
Suddenly, light shot out of Mew, spreading to every corner of the cave. Trees came back to life, rocks flew back to the cliff.
And the stone in the middle shot up and started to spin again, regaining color.
Danika gasped. " This.... this is amazing! How did you-"
" Because she's Mew's friend." Ash interrupted. " My sister's the legendary Pokemon master!"
" Wait, the one who supposedly caught Mew?" Goh asked.
Wisty rolled her eyes. " Yeesh, these days no one can tell stories properly. I didn't catch it, Goh. It decided it wanted me to be its owner."
" As do all her Pokemon." Gary added.
Wisty smirked. " Finally. Glad to see Gary Berry FINALLY gets something."
" Hey!"
Wisty smiled, but her smile disappeared when she looked at the sky.
Then she turned to Mew. " We need to get there, now! Professor's calling us there."
" Mew?"
Wisty kicked a rock. " It's..... the thing. The thing we saw all those years ago in the lake. I realized it wasn't our imagination. It was a vision."
" Mew?!" Mew looked quite alarmed.
" Mhm."
" Mew mew mew!" Mew hugged Wisty, and she smiled.
" Eevee Eevee!" Eevee said as she hopped.
Wisty crouched down and hugged both her Pokemon. " Aw, you guys."
Then, her belt shook. Wisty looked down at it.
Then all the Pokeballs opened, and light shot out.
Amaura, Deerling, Sprigatito, Altaria, Girafarig, Charmander, and Shaymu came out of their Pokeballs.
Wisty blinked. " Oh hi guys. What happened?"
They all ran to her side and hugged her.
Wisty blinked, tears welling in her eyes. " Oh, you guys...."
" Wait, Wisty, what's happening?!"
Wisty's eyes lingered on her brother for a moment. She could feel the weight of her secret settling heavily, pressing down her usual confidence. "I have to handle this," she muttered, just as Ash called her name.
"Wait, Wisty!" Ash's voice broke through her thoughts. "I want to see Mom. I need to know she's alright."
Wisty paused, turning slowly back to him, her expression unreadable. For a second, she clenched her fists, then softened, nodding. "Mew-mew," she said gently, looking at the pink creature beside her. "Could you please take us to Professor Oak's lab?"
"Mew!" Mew nodded, its eyes glowing softly. In a flash of pink light, they all found themselves standing at Professor Oak's observatory, the familiar sights surrounding them, comforting and familiar but feeling different today. All the Pokemon were back in their Pokeballs ( except Grookey, Eevee and Pikachu.)
Wisty hesitated, watching Ash and Gary take off towards the observatory door. "Go on," she whispered. "I have... things I need to take care of."
Ash paused at the door, worry creasing his brow, but Wisty flashed him a quick smile before turning away and disappearing down a hallway. Danika, Quillon, Horace, and Goh exchanged glances, raising eyebrows, sensing the depth of what was left unsaid. Wisty moved swiftly, keeping her steps light, avoiding the lab's main room where she knew her brother would see their mom.
It had been a tough few days. Professor Oak's call about their mother's coma—her fall from the stadium, the crowd's crushing panic, the concussion that had left her unresponsive—had weighed on Wisty ever since she heard. No one else knew the full truth, and she couldn't bear to tell them.
Eevee trotted beside her, brushing against her leg. Wisty knelt down, burying her face in Eevee's soft fur for a moment before whispering, "I can't let Ash know. Not yet."
Meanwhile, Ash and Gary had reached the observatory room. Inside, surrounded by Professor Oak's bustling team, they found their mother lying peacefully, the faint hum of machinery the only sound filling the room. The sight was enough to make Ash's throat tighten, but he kept his composure as he leaned over, squeezing her hand gently.
Outside, Wisty could feel the tears welling up again, but she quickly brushed them away. She needed to be strong—for Ash, for herself, and for their mom.
