" Eveve!"
Wisty looked at the medicine, then up at the cost and sighed. " It's too expensive. We can't afford it."
" Eevee."
Wisty looked at her pet and sighed. " I guess you're right. It's not that we can't afford it. I guess it's that I don't think we should buy it. I mean, one bottle of medicine for $35? That's really expensive. And it's the one people need most!"
" Eveve!"
" I guess that's true...."
She put the bottle back on the shelf and briskly walked in the aisle, basket in arm and head moving back and forth like crazy. Eevee padded at her feet, helping her owner.
Suddenly, Eevee saw a bottle. " Eveveveveveve!"
Wisty looked at her pet, who had a bottle in her mouth. She put the basket down and crouched down. " What is it, girl?" She asked.
Eevee spit the bottle out of her mouth and Wisty checked. " Where'd you find this?"
Eevee pointed with her tail, and Wisty checked the price. " Huh. Good price."
Then she smiled at her Eevee. " You know what? Go find yourself some treats. I'm gonna go to the chocolate section. Mmmmmm, chocolate...."
Eevee watched Wisty make her way down the chocolate aisle, eyes sparkling at the rows and rows of treats. "Chocolate heaven," Wisty murmured, reaching out to grab one of the bags. But before she could get too far, Eevee jumped in front of her, wagging her tail with a firm "Eevee!"
Wisty sighed. "Come on, Eevee, it's just one bag. Okay, two bags—maybe three..." She reached out, only for Eevee to quickly transform into a Leafeon, vines sprouting out to pull the chocolate bags back.
"Leafeon!" she said with a determined look, crossing her front legs in a stance that clearly said, You're not getting more than one bag.
"Fine, fine," Wisty muttered, reluctantly tossing one bag into the cart. But as she strolled further down the aisle, she stopped, eyes widening at a jumbo-sized bag filled with an impossible number of chocolates—1,749,374 pieces, according to the label.
Her mind was made up instantly. "Eevee," Wisty whispered dramatically, "you can't argue with a deal like this." Before Eevee could react, Wisty had hoisted the massive bag into the cart and was off in a flash, racing toward the checkout line.
By the time they reached the car, Gary was waiting, arms crossed, watching Wisty gleefully toss the mountain of chocolates into the trunk. He raised an eyebrow and turned to Eevee—who had turned back from Leafeon and was now looking thoroughly exasperated.
"I thought we were only here for Grandpa's medicine," Gary said, shaking his head as he looked from the giant chocolate bag to Wisty, who was already unwrapping her first piece with a satisfied grin.
Wisty shrugged with a mischievous smile. "Chocolate is medicine... for the soul!"
