Ash sighed as he looked at the water in front of him, observing the ripples in the water. " Well, Pikachu, we're alone. Again."
Ash sighed and lay down. " Remember what happened the first time we were left alone? We saw Ho Oh."
" Pika Pika."
Ash looked at his Pikachu. " You're not that excited."
Pikachu looked at Ash with a weird look. Ash sat up. " Pikachu? Buddy, are you okay?"
" Pi- ACHOOOO!"
Ash blinked. " Did you just..... Sneeze?!"
" Pi- ACHOOOO!"
Ash rubbed his eyes. " I need to sleep more."
" Pika pi- ACHOOOO!"
Ash blinked. " Oh. It's real. I'm not imagining it. Okay, uh..... We have to take you to a Pokemon center. But where's the nearest one?"
" Right behind ya, Ashy."
Ash turned and gasped when he saw the boy wearing the black jacket, white shirt, black shoes and khaki pants. " Gary!"
Gary knelt down next to Ash and opened his bag, gently taking Pikachu. " How did this happen?"
Ash shrugged. " I dunno. He wasn't like this yesterday."
Gary carefully examined Pikachu, his face growing serious as he noticed Pikachu’s watery eyes and the slight shiver running through its tiny body. “Looks like Pikachu might have caught a cold. It happens sometimes, especially after being out in the open like this.”
Ash looked worried, rubbing the back of his neck. “I didn’t think Pokémon could get colds… I mean, Pikachu’s always been so tough.”
“They’re tough, but they can get sick just like us,” Gary replied, giving Pikachu a gentle pat. “Good thing you ran into me, huh?”
Pikachu let out another sneeze, and a tiny spark of electricity shot from its cheeks, making Ash jump. “Whoa! Easy there, Pikachu!”
Gary chuckled. “It’s alright. Pikachu just needs a bit of care, that’s all. I’ve got a few things in my bag that should help until we get to a Pokémon Center.”
Ash nodded, watching closely as Gary took out a small blanket and wrapped Pikachu in it, keeping the little Pokémon cozy and warm. “Alright, buddy, this should help a bit,” Gary said softly, scratching Pikachu’s head.
Pikachu nestled into the blanket with a soft “Pika…” and closed its eyes, clearly feeling comforted.
Ash let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks, Gary. I didn’t know what to do. I just panicked when I saw him sneeze.”
Gary smiled, giving Ash a friendly nudge. “Hey, no problem. That’s what friends are for, right?”
Ash smiled back, his shoulders relaxing a bit. “Yeah… thanks. I don’t know what I’d do without you sometimes.”
Gary laughed and shrugged. “Well, good thing you don’t have to find out. Now, let’s head to the Pokémon Center. It’s not too far from here. I’ll help carry Pikachu.”
Ash nodded, glancing down at his little friend wrapped snugly in the blanket. “Don’t worry, Pikachu. We’ll get you feeling better in no time.”
