A New Beginning

Kids

Riley POV:
I wake up and Lucas isn't in the bed. I figure he is watching tv in the family room. I go and take a shower. After my shower I put on a black crop top with a daisy on it and high waisted jean shorts. I then straightened my hair and put on light make up. I walk down to the kitchen after I put on black combat boots. "You look nice." Lucas said smiling. "Thanks! You are too sweet!" I say kissing his cheek. "I made you waffles and sausage!" Lucas said passing me a plate.

We eat our breakfast and grab our book bags for school. Our school lets seniors go out for lunch if they choose. That's what we are going to do today.

*At School*

Maya POV:
"Hey guys!" I say in a very good mood. "Wow Maya, you are very happy today." Farkle says approaching Lucas, Riley, and me. "Well yeah, we are getting our kids today, and I've been looking forward to that for a while!" I say. "You are very dressed up for it," Riley comments as I look down at myself. I am wearing a hot pink skater skirt with a white, laced top tucked in it. For my shoes I am wearing black shinny flats and my hair is curled with some pulled back with bobby pins. I have more make up on than usual. "I just want to make a good impression on the kids..." I say, which is true; but I also just like being fancy sometimes.

We walk into class and most of the class is already in there. "Good morning Lucas, Farkle, Riley, and Maya." Mrs. Hanes says as we take our seats. "Today we are going to an adoption center to get your kids!" Mrs. Hanes smiles as she finished her sentence. Everyone is excited. We get on the bus after she hands us paper work we will have to fill out at the center.

*At Adoption Center*

Riley POV:
We walk in and a tall man tours us around a little but at any time we can branch off and talk to some kids. Me and Lucas walk off into a room and see a little girl with blonde hair sitting there playing with some dolls. We walk up to her. "Hi! My name is Riley, and this is my umm, husband Lucas." I say. "Hey there." Lucas smiles. "What's your name? He asks. "Christine." (Christine and Josh are above) She says shyly. "How old are you?" I ask. Christine holds up 4 fingers. "Four," she says giggling. I look at Lucas who approves. "So Christine, do you want to go home with us for a school project, you would be part of our family for a little while." Lucas asks and holds out his hand. Christine nods and takes Lucas's hand.

Lucas, Christine, and I walk around some more. "Let's get an older boy, so that he can protect Christine." Lucas says. I know he has always wanted it that way.

We walk through different rooms and then approach a young boy with brown hair. "Hello, I'm Lucas, this is my wife. Her name is Riley." Lucas says while still holding Christine's hand. "I'm Josh. I'm 7." He says and stands up. "Josh, would you like to come to our house for a school project for a few months?" I hold out my arms. "Yes!" He says jumping into them. I hold Josh at my waist. We go to the office and fill out our paper work. After that we wait for Maya and Farkle outside to come out.

Pretty soon Maya comes out with a little girl with red hair on her back and Farkle is walking out with a blonde boy who looks younger than the girl at his side. "This is Skylar. She is 6." Maya says looking at the girl. "And this is Owen." Farkle says pointing to the boy. "He is 3."

"They are so adorable!" I say looking at them. "This is Christine." Lucas looks at her. "And this one is Josh." I rock him on my hip.

Mrs. Hanes told our teachers what she was doing and they let us have the rest of the day off because by the time we got out of the adoption center it was 2 pm and school gets out at 4. So Lucas, Christine, Josh and I go back to our apartment. "Welcome home!" Lucas says as he opens the door. Christine and Josh run in and go straight to the hall with the rooms. "I call this one!!" Christine yells. Then Josh yells "This one is mine." Lucas and I look at each other and laugh. I turn to the kitchen to start cooking. Lucas goes to play with the kids. I decide to make meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Dinner is finally ready at about 5:30. "Dinner!" I say and before I know it there is a herd of two kids and a 17 year old running at me.

After dinner we all decided to watch a movie. And to my surprise it was a unanimous vote to watch "Aladdin". After the movie I tucked Christine in and Lucas tucked in Josh. "Goodnight Christine, sweet dreams." I say kissing her forehead.
