A New Beginning

The Date Part 1

Lucas POV:
After all the Minkus' leave, Christine is still sleeping and no one decides to wake her up since it's her bed time anyway. I put Josh to bed and I finally make it to Riley and my bedroom. Riley is already in bed and is reading "Insurgent". I quickly get changed and sit on the bed next to Riley. "Are you going to sleep soon?" I ask not rudely, just curiously. "I don't know, Maya and I are going to see who can finish the series first. And plus it's getting super interesting." Riley replies not looking up from her book. "Alright. Can I read it too? Like while you are?" I ask. "Yeah but you won't know what on Earth is going on." Riley answers. I start reading the page on the left.

I have read one paragraph and I'm beyond confused, but I continue reading.

I have read three chapters now and am so confused I could write a book on how many questions I have.

"Okay who is Tobias? And who is Tris? Who is Four? Who is Beatrice? I'm so confused!" I say furrowing my eyebrows. Riley gives out a laugh. "Tobias and Four are the same person and Tris and Beatrice are the same person you dummy!" She says jokingly. I face palm myself. "Oh... That explains a lot." I say. "But wait, how does Tris know that Caleb guy..." I ask. "She's his sister." "Oh." I think it's best if I stop talking now because I probably sound really dumb now.

After a few more chapters, Riley puts the book up. I get up to turn off the lights and then I return to the bed in silence. I lay down, but I can feel that Riley is sitting up still. "Riley I'm so sorry about today..." I start. "That's all I needed to hear; that you are sorry." She says. I grin but she can't see. "I'm sorry too by the way." Riley says as she lays down. "I love you." I confess. "I love you too Lucas." She replies as she lays her head on my arm. I sigh of relief that hopefully we can go back to what we were before this morning, and that's all in the past.

*Time Skip*

I wake up and Riley is still sound asleep beside me, my arm wrapped around her, claiming her. I smile warmly, even though she won't see. I'm so glad we are okay once again, I don't know what I would do if she were mad at me for much longer. I love that girl so much.

Riley POV:
When I wake up I feel a strong, warm arm around me. I don't open my eyes yet, because I want this moment to last as long as possible. I breath lightly as a smile takes over my face. Lucas loudly inhaled and then exhaled. "Morning baby." He says sleepily as he rubs my arm gently. "Good morning babe," I reply.   "I'm so glad you're mine." Lucas adds. "And I'm glad you're mine too." I say turning towards him.

I give him a kiss and then lean my forehead on his. He kisses my forehead for a long time. I start to get up to walk to the living room when Lucas whisper/yells "Stop!" "Wha-" I begin but he cuts me off. "Hop on my back." I shrug and jump on his back and he carries me to the living room, but when I try to get off, he keeps his grip on me. "Wait..." I furrow my eyebrows but he continues carrying me to the kitchen. "What do you wanna eat?" He asks still holding me. "Umm brown sugar cinnamon Poptarts." I say thinking of something that doesn't require baking. "Here you go my lady." He says handing me the Poptarts and a glass of water. I giggle and he carries me to the couch and sets me down.

"I love you!" I say between giggles.
"I love you more!" He replies pecking my lips quickly. "Hey let's go on a date tonight!" Lucas suggests holding onto my waist looking down at me. "I'm game!" I answer back to him wrapping my arms around his neck. "Great, wear something formal... I got to go I'll be back." He lets go of his grip on my waist as he says this. "Okay, see you soon!" I gleam. He kisses my cheek and leaves the apartment. I wonder where he is going...

Lucas POV:
I have to leave Riles because I have some important things to take care of.

I first go to the jewelry store, I have an order to pick up there. "Hello sir! How may I help you?" The desk clerk asks politely. "Hi sir, I am here to pick up an order under 'Friar'." I answer as I make my way over to the counter. "Ah yes, this ring right here?" The man asks holding up a ring. "Yes, that would be the one." I answer.

I pay and carefully carry the ring in it's box to the car. My next stop is the restaurant I'm taking my girl to tonight. It's a fancy Italian place. I place a reservation for later tonight.

The last place I go is a tuxedo shop. I want to look nice for this date. After I buy a black tuxedo, I drive back to the apartment, making sure I keep the box hidden. I open the door and hear girly squealing. "Hey Riles, I'm home." I announce from the living room. Maya comes running out, well that explains it. When Riley and Maya get together it's endless giggles. "Yo! Cowboy! Get out Riley is getting ready for you guys' date and you can't see her yet!" She yells. "Oh, I'll just go to Farkle's then..." I say as I scratch the back of my neck. "Okay, that's where your kiddos are too." She says returning back to my room. "Alright be ready by 6!" I say before leaving to go across the hall.

"Girls these days..." I say to myself in the hall while laughing. I knock on the door and Farkle answers almost right away. "What's up?" He asks casually. "Not much, Riley and I are going on a date later and I need to get ready here because she's getting ready at my house." I answer. "Why can't you-" I already know what he's going to ask; why can't you get ready there. "I was kicked out." I say laughing. Farkle shrugged and let me in.
