A New Beginning

Look Who's Back

Lucas POV:
I get up quietly so that I hopefully won't wake up Riles. But all of a sudden as I am about to leave the room I hear "Good luck babe, love you!" I walk back over to the bed and kiss my girl. "Thanks love you more." I say leaving once again.

Riley POV:
I wake up while Lucas is leaving for his interview but then go back to sleep until about 12 pm. I quickly put on a red tank top shirt that says "Fire Burns Brighter in Darkness" (THG) and a pair of dark jeans. I thrown my hair in a messy bun and apply no make up and go to the family room. I start watching "Pretty Little Liars" and after about an hour I hear little foot steps. "Mommy" Christine says holding out her arms wanting me to hold her. I pick her up and she sits in my lap as I change the channel to "Mickey Mouse Club House". Then Josh walks in and sits next to me. We all sit watching and then all of a sudden someone knocks on the door. "Who's there?" I ask curiously.

I start walking towards the door. "It's Mrs. Hanes." The person behind the door answers. I instantly feel relieved. I open the door and welcome her in. "I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow everyone in your life skills class are going out to eat with the kids for lunch. And you might have to be late for your class you have directly after lunch since there are you know, so many of us." "Oh sounds fun!" I reply, I truly am excited because this is our first time going out to eat with the kids. "So where is Lucas?" Mrs. Hanes questions. "Oh, he is at a job interview he will be back in a little bit." I answer. "Okay, well I must go tell others, goodbye Josh, goodbye Christine." She says as she walks out. They wave to her. About 15 minutes later Lucas comes back. "So how'd it go sweetie?" I ask. "I was hired instantly! They said that usually they get back to you in about a week but they didn't have to think twice about me." I got up and ran to hug him. The kids followed and we had a big family hug. A knock on the door broke the hug. "Now what?!" I say kind of annoyed. I open the door to see my uncle. Josh.

"Riley!" He says hugging me. "Josh! I can't believe you know where I live," I say kind of in shock. "Woah your family grew fast..." Josh says looking behind me for the first time. Lucas and I couldn't help but laugh. "Josh, it's for a school project. Lucas is my fake husband. These are our adopted kids for the year." I say still laughing a little. It was faint but I could've sworn I heard Lucas say "Fake for now..." I almost fell over right then and there. "Josh; this is Josh. And this one is Christine." I introduce. "Kids this is your great uncle!" Lucas says smiling.

"So rumor has it that the Minkus' live next door." Josh says almost giggling, he still can't get over the name apparently. "I'll go bring then over here, why not you guys watch tv while I round them up." I suggest. I walk out the door casually. Then run and kinda beat down the door. Maya opens the door. "May I help you?" She asks. "Well there is a visitor here. I'll give you a hint who." She looks at me funny. Maya and Josh hadn't seen each other since Josh's graduation. "It's my relative and you haven't seen them in forever and it's one of my kids names." I continue. "Ahh!" Maya says sounding like my dad. Maya and Josh are really awkward right now. They haven't seen or talked since Josh graduated a few years ago and the last day they talked Maya had accidentally said she wanted to marry him right in front of him.

Maya carries Owen on her hip and Farkle carries Skylar on his back and we walk back over.

Maya POV:
I take a deep breath and walk in. "Hey losers," I say as I did in 7th grade. "Hi Pancakes." Huckleberry greets. I roll my eyes at him. "Hi Maya," I hear a very familiar voice say. I walk over and smile. "Hey Uncle Boing." I avert my gaze to the tv. "Who are these cuties?" Josh asks. "This is Owen." I say looking at him. "That is Skylar over on Farkles back." I point. "Aww!" Josh comments.

***Time Skip***

Lucas POV:
At about 8:45 pm we finish talking and the Minkus' go back to their place. Riley and I put the kids to bed together tonight. Once we were done we walked back to the family room. "Josh, we have school tomorrow so we are going to bed." Riley tells him. "Oh umm, okay I'll go back to my house. Bye!" Josh gets up and hugs Riley and kisses her cheek. They are more like brother and sister than uncle and niece. Josh and I shake hands and then we walk him outside. Afterwards Riley and I go back to our room. She seems to be looking for something. "Riley what are you looking for?" I ask. "Apparently all my pajamas are dirty I guess I'll do laundry in the morning." I get up and go to my dresser. "Here, wear one of my shirts." I say tossing it to her. When Riley walks out of the bathroom the shirt is more of a dress on her. She is so adorable. We go to sleep after having a conversation in the dark about going on a date tomorrow night.
