Maya POV:
When we get back to the Friar household, I leave Lucas and Riley to go bring Farkle and all the kids over. Once I knock, Farkle answers and greets me. "Welcome back beautiful." I blush a little and then guide myself to the living room where 4 kids are watching tv. "Who wants to go over to Uncle Lucas' and Aunt Riley's?!" I ask hold my hands out towards the door like a game show person. "Memememe!" Skylar announces as she makes her way to the door.
When we arrive back to Riley's Owen and Christine decide they are too tired so they crash on the couch, and the remaining 6 of us start laying things out for tomorrows extravagant array of food. After we do that, we decide on playing Apples to Apples on two teams. "Friars vs Minkus' or boys vs girls?" Riley's asks while shuffling some cards. "Boys vs girls!" I yell. "I'm game," Lucas says getting up out of his seat beside Riley. After switching seats, the seating arrangement is Me, Riley, and Skylar on one side of the table, and Farkle, Josh, and Lucas on the other.
After Lucas deals the cards, he announces "It's on girls." I roll my eyes and say, "Yeah okay." "You guys are going down!" Skylar shouts.
After a round that lasts almost an hour, girls win with 7 cards and the boys only had 4. We pack the game up and walk back to the kitchen. "We should get going, it's already 10." Farkle says. "Okay see you guys tomorrow!" Riley says as she makes her way to the couch to carry sleeping Christine to her room. "Bye Riles and Sundance!" I yell as I walk out the door with Skylar and Owen.
Riley POV:
After I carry Christine to her room, Maya and Farkle have left. I wander to Josh's room to find Lucas reading him a story. I lean on the door frame and smile. Lucas is so good with kids. "What book are you reading?" I ask walking over to the end of the bed. "Three Little Pigs." Josh smiles.
After the book, Lucas and I walk back to our bedroom. I grab one of Lucas' t shirts and some sleep shorts and walk into the bathroom. After I change, I open the bathroom door and step into pitch blackness. I try to feel around for the bed but accidentally ram into a dresser. "Ouch!" I yell rubbing the arm I hit. "You okay baby?" Lucas asks from somewhere. I'm about to answer when I'm impaled by a short nightstand going into my stomach. "Ahh!" I jump. "Are you okay?" Lucas repeats. "Yeah I'm fine, I can't find the-" I'm cut off by tripping over a basket and falling straight onto my face. "Umm Riles?" Lucas asks and I can hear him walking around. The lights finally turn on and Lucas runs over to me. "Does anything hurt?" He asks looking worried. "Just my arm and my head and my stomach." I say holding my arm. "That's a lot. Do you have bruises anywhere?" He asks touching my forehead slightly. "I don't know how bout we see in the morning, I'm tired." I sleepily announce and get up to climb in bed. Truth be told, I ache all over, I mean I was rushing to try to get to bed, and I'm sure I have bruises all over, but I'm too tired right now.
"Good night princess." Lucas says getting into bed and putting his arm around me. "Good night my prince." I say grinning and falling asleep.
I wake up and Lucas is looking at me like he is observing me. "Do you ache anywhere?" Lucas asks. "All over," I whine. "Okay baby, can I look at your bruises?" He asks. I nod and hold out my arm. I only have a baby bruise on it. I know my stomach will have the most bruises. "This isn't a big deal," I start. "I just want to make sure you are safe and healthy." Lucas stresses. Lucas then holds my forehead. "No bruises." He says gently. I sigh and let out "I am not concerned about anything but my stomach." Lucas looks at me. I get up and walk in the bathroom. I lift my shirt just enough to examine the bruises. Not as bad as I thought, but there are 3 good sized bruises. "Oh well." I say to myself as I walk out. I walk to the living room and I can feel Lucas' presence behind me. "Any bruises on your stomach?" He asks still behind me. "3" I answer in a hush tone. "Do they need ice?" He asks putting his hands on my shoulders. "Nah, they're fine." I say. "Pain killers?" He asks. Truth was they were a little sore, so I nod my head simply. Lucas runs off to get a bottle of Advil.
I lay on the couch and turn the tv on. A few minutes later Lucas appears again and with a bottle of Advil. I really don't want to be given royal treatment. "Here," he says offering the bottle. I sigh realizing what day it was. I get up and start walking to the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" Lucas questions. "Thanksgiving." I answer. "Why don't I cook and you can sleep more?" Lucas offers. I sigh and loose it. "Lucas you are very sweet but you can not do everything for me! Just cause I tripped 3 times last night and got bruises doesn't mean I'm disabled! You are taking this to a whole other level that it doesn't need to be on!" I shout. I make eye contact with him and can tell he is upset. I run to my room and put on a t shirt and grey sweat pants. I slip on converse and put my hair in a pony tail. I walk past Lucas silently and walk out the door, I'm not usual like this, I just need to cool down and I know exactly where I'm going and it's not Maya's.
