A New Beginning

Detention

Lucas POV:
I'm driving while Riley is sitting in the passenger seat. Maya and Farkle are in the back arguing on whether or not they are getting a dog. I see out of the corner of my eye Riley is rubbing her wrists where she was tied up. "Baby are you okay?" I ask. "Yeah fine." She answers. But I know she isn't. "No you're not." I offer my hand and she takes it and we hold hands the rest of the way.

Meanwhile in the backseat:
Maya POV:
"We so need a dog Farkle!" I tell him. "No we don't! Who would take him outside all day?" He argues. "We could get someone. I mean seriously I would find somebody. I'm not going to let it pee in the house!" I argue back. "I still don't think it's a good idea..." Farkle says. "Fine you win, don't get used to it." I give up.

When we get to Josh's he invites us in the watch the soccer game that was on. Riley sits in between her uncle and Lucas on the couch and Lucas puts his arm around her. The kids were still playing somewhere. Farkle joins me on the love seat. Farkle eventually puts his arm around my waist.

After the game we all head home and the Friars and the Minkus' split and return to our apartments.

Riley POV:
I am so glad that I was rescued. I got a call while watching the game and the police told me that Charlie is arrested for 2 years. I feel safe once again.

I help Christine get ready for bed. "Mommy I am happy you are back." She says. I smile. "Me too." I return to my room and change into one of Lucas' shirts and my sleep pants. I slide into bed just as Lucas comes in. "Did you call my work while I was gone?" I ask. "Yes, it's all taken care of Baby." He says. Once again I fall asleep in Lucas' strong arms.

I wake up still in Lucas' arms. I slide out of them to take a shower. I put on my black crop top with a daisy on it and light jeans with my combat boots I put my hair in a pony tail and curl it. When I'm done Lucas is still sleeping so I decide to make breakfast. I am making Nutella toast when Lucas comes in, "Hey beautiful." He embraces me with a warm hug. "Good morning handsome," I begin still hugging him.  "I'll go wake up the kids." He says letting go. "Okay Sweetie." I say.

The kids come running in and begin eating I laugh because of how they are attacking the food. Finally we are ready to go and we are early!

Maya POV:
I wake up and take a shower. I get dressed in a simple white skater dress with a gold necklace that says "Maya" on it from Riley in 10th grade. I slide my pair of tan sandals on and apply light make up. I straighten my hair and walk out to the smell of sausage. "Mmm something smells good." I comment. "Thanks Maya. I'm making breakfast." Farkle replies. I go and wake up the kids. I get Skylar a navy sweater dress and white leggings and her black Uggs. I bring her to my bathroom and I fishtail braid her hair. Next I get Owen dressed in khaki shorts and a green t shirt that has a black dinosaur on it. I give him his tennis shoes and I brush his hair. Finally after a while, we are ready and we are late.

Lucas POV:
We are in the middle of class when the door opens revealing Maya, Farkle, Owen, and lastly Skylar. "Why are you four late?" Mrs. Hanes asks. "We just ran late today ma'am." Farkle says. "Okay well I am letting you guys slide but it wot happen again. Got it?" Mrs. Hanes makes them aware. The nod their heads.

They sit down and Riley whispers to Maya "Why are you guys late?" And Maya replies "I already said." Then they get caught. And apparently Mrs. Hanes woke up on the wrong side of the bed today because she is not normally like this. "Girls you are going to have detention today for one hour." They lower their heads. I feel bad for them.

Then Farkle starts to make a bad sports reference out of nowhere and I start laughing because it is incorrect. "Mr. Friar, Mr. Minkus, you two will be joining your wives in detention today!" Mrs. Hanes tells us. Man she is grumpy today. She usually asks what's funny and laughs with us.

At lunch we decide to stay at school today. "Man Mrs. Hanes is not her normal self." I start the conversation. "I know right! I've never gotten detention before!" Riley says. "Umm Riley, aren't you forgetting when we all had detention in 8th grade and all chaos broke out?" Maya asks. "Oh yeah. Rileytown and Mayaville. That was a fun time!" Riley adds.

After school we return to Mrs. Hanes' classroom for detention. It was dead silent. It was only us four and our kids playing in the back. But you could hear a pen drop. It seems like it's been 5 hours and I look at the clock. It's been 5 minutes. Maya has already fallen asleep and Riley is about to. Farkle is working on his plan to take over the world and the kids are being kids. I'm the only one bored I guess.
