A New Beginning

Family Bonding

Riley POV:
In the morning I wake up to Lucas' annoying alarm clock. "I wish I could smash that thing with a hammer." I say literally falling out of bed by accident. The comforter wrapped around my feet and I tripped. Lucas came running from the kitchen. "Baby are you okay?" He asks. "Yeah, I'm okay." I say while he helps me untangle myself and get up. He returns to the kitchen and I take a shower. After my shower I put on a teal, black, and purple plaid, collard shirt, like what a cowgirl would wear with sleeves only going down half my arm, they stop at my elbows and jean capris. I put on my black combat boots and put light make up on. I straiten my hair and take part of my hair and braid it back and connect it on the back of my hair. I'm pretty excited about today. Wait! I haven't told Lucas oh no! I run to the kitchen to see Lucas making chocolate chip pancakes. The kids are dressed and ready to go; with one exception: the jungle they call hair. I run and take Christine to my bathroom and straiten her hair an bring her back. I then decide to tell Lucas; "Lucas, I forgot to tell you, while you were at your interview yesterday Mrs. Hanes came by to tell me that the whole life skills class is going to lunch today with our kids." "That sounds like fun babe!" He says. I walk over to him and give a one handed hug to him. He kisses my lips and I kiss back. "Eww" I hear Josh say. I just laugh.

Eventually some how, some way, we make it out the door with a couple of minutes to spare.

Lucas POV:
When Riley, Christine, Josh, and I walked in class we were actually the first here; except the Minkus'. Of course. Farkle would never let them be late. The kids start socializing and Maya and Riley start scrolling through their tumblr. Farkle and I just look at each other. "So... did you watch the game yesterday?" I finally asked Farkle. "No, I was helping make dinner." He replies.

Eventually the whole class is there. We do reports on our families and money and all that. I keep daydreaming about different things, all including my new family. I think that this day is going to go slower than expected.

***Time Skip***

It's finally lunch time. Our class walks outside. Riley is holding Josh's hand and I am holding Christine's hand. Riley and I also hold hands; it's like a Friar family human chain. We get on the bus and Riley and I sit beside each other. Maya and Farkle sit together across from us and Christine and Josh are in front of us. Skylar and Owen are in front of Farkle and Maya. Mrs. Hanes still hasn't said where we are going.

Riley POV:
Lucas and I are sitting beside each other on the bus. Mrs. Hanes gets up from her seat. "Everyone I am going to finally announce where we are going!" Everyone looks around at each other. "We are going to... Golden Corral!" Lucas smirks at me. I know why though. That place is his all time favorite restaurant on this Earth! I just laugh.

We get out of the bus and Christine and Josh walk ahead of Lucas and me. My hand slips into Lucas'. I love it when we hold hands. I feel like our hands are meant for the other. We walk in and we order our drinks. Each family has to pay for their own food. We are allowed to sit anywhere in the restaurant. The Minkus' and the Friars sit together. We have to shove two tables together to fit all of us. Christine and I walk off and I help her get her food. Maya soon joins me with Owen. Once we have helped our kids, Maya and I finally get our food. We all go back to sit down and the others are already there. Lucas, me, Josh, and Christine sit on one side and Maya, Farkle, Skylar, and Owen sit on the other.

After a while we go to get dessert. Lucas and I share a chocolate ice cream cone, Maya gets cotton candy, Farkle gets fudge, Christine and Skylar both get sugar cookies and brownies, Josh gets vanilla ice cream in a cone, and Owen gets fudge as well. After a while, Christine goes to get some cotton candy. She comes back with not only cotton candy, but also 5 chocolate covered marshmallows! "Sweetie you're  gonna be sick..." I start. She keeps eating.

***Time Skip***

"Mommy I don't feel good." Christine comes up to me and complains. "I bet it's the chocolate," I mumble to myself. We had been home for 30 minutes now. Luckily this didn't happen at school. "Lucas!" I yell. He shows up running from our room in only his basketball shorts. "What is it babe?" He asks. "Christine doesn't feel good." I explain. "My tummy..." Christine starts holding her stomach.

"Okay let's just get you to the bathroom." I say. "Josh stay in here please." I add. I walk with Christine into the bathroom. I walk over to the toilet and kneel beside my baby. She starts gagging. I pat her back gently. "It's okay," I begin. Lucas walks in just as Christine starts to throw up. "I brought some water." He says and then looks up. He shoves the water bottle on the counter and rushes to Christine. He holds her hair back using his hand as a pony tail holder. I'm still patting her back. "I love you, it's okay." Lucas sympathizes. Christine starts crying as she throws up a second time. Lucas and I make eye contact. We have never really dealt with a sick child alone before.
