A New Beginning

Returning Home

Riley POV:
Texas has been definitely an interesting vacation. Tomorrow we are flying back to New York.

Right now I am sitting on the couch in fuzzy socks, purple fleece pajama pants, and one of Lucas' hoodies. Lucas is beside me in basketball shorts and a long sleeved shirt. Maya is on the other couch in yoga pants and a PINK brand sweatshirt beside Farkle, who is wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. We've been sitting and talking while watching different Christmas movies all day. Currently, Elf was playing while Lucas and I cuddled.

"I love you Lucas," I say with my head resting on his shoulder. "I love you more princess." He replies while brushing through my hair with his hand gently. "I don't think that's possible." I say and look up at him. He gives me a soft smile is kisses me softly.

Soon after, we fall asleep. In the morning we all go upstairs to do some last minute packing. I change into black leggings, a long sleeved Simply Southern shirt I bought while in Texas, and Uggs. I put my hair in a high pony tail. Maya puts on a pair of sweat pants, a t-shirt she bought at the rodeo, and Bearpaw boots. I Dutch braid her hair for her and we go down stairs.

Before we know it, we are in the plane heading to Philadelphia. In Philadelphia we will get on a plane to go to New York.

When we finally go though security in the New York airport and everything we need to go though, we start speed walking, knowing we will see our babies for the first time in almost two weeks.

Maya POV:
I finally see my kids from a far distance away. "Skylar! Owen!" I yell rushing over to them and giving them big hugs. "Mommy I missed you!" Skylar yells in reply hugging me tightly. "I missed you too baby." I reply warmly.

Soon enough we head back to the apartment. The kids run in to unpack their stuff. Christmas is in 3 days and  I still need to do some last minute shopping. I decide to call Riley and ask her to go with me.

"Hey Riles."

"Hey Peaches,"

"Do you want to go last minute Christmas shopping with me?"

"YYYYYAAAYYYYYY!"

"Okay then, I'll meet you at my car in 15 minutes."

"Okay see you then."

"Bye Sunshine."

I hang up and go to my room so I can change into different clothes. I settle on skinny jeans, a red top with a sunflower on it, and Vans.

I meet Riley at my car and we are on the way. I turn up the radio and "Hello" by Adele comes on. Riley and I glance at each other for a second before singing along to every word.

Eventually we end up at our destination: the mall. The first store we go into is Aeropostale. After trying on hundreds of items, we continue shopping. Our next stop is Bath and Body Works. "This smells so good." I say handing Riley a bottle of lotion that smells like cookies. "Ooh let me-" Riley says trying to open the lotion. Once she finally opens it, it explodes on her face. I bite my bottom to keep from laughing at the site of Riley covered in lotion. But she starts laughing so I laugh along.

After cleaning Riley up, we go to a few more stores, including Hot Topic, the sports store they have at the mall, and JC Penny's.

We arrive back to our apartment complex, discovering that my kids and Farkle are at Riley's. I decide to go over to Riley's so we can wrap presents together.

"We have come with presents!" Riley announces busting through the door. "No peaking!" I add walking in behind her. "I would never!" Farkle and Lucas say at the same time both with a hurt look on their faces. "Mmhmm." I say raising one of my eyebrows as I walk past them.

After going through 6 rolls of wrapping paper (because Riles says we need a variety), 5 rolls of tape, and about 70 bows (because Riley claims some presents need two), we are done wrapping.
