A New Beginning

Dress Shopping

Riley POV:

Honestly, there is no feeling like the feeling of being loved. When you're loved you feel special, and that you matter in this crazy world. Lucas certainly makes me feel this way.

I wake up slowly, not rushing because it is Saturday morning. I feel Lucas' arms around me still, but as I move around he wakes up. "Good morning princess." He smiles.

"Morning Prince Charming." I reply getting up.

"What are you doing today baby?" Lucas asks getting up as well.

"Not much, just going prom dress shopping with Maya. Okay I may be a little excited!" I squeal. Last year I went prom dress shopping with my mom, and as fun as that was, it's not like being with my best friend.

"We'll have fun babe." Lucas says coming over and kissing me lightly.

I nod and go to my closet and pick out white jeans, a purple long sleeved v neck, and one of Lucas' sweatshirts. I put on my Uggs and then braid my hair to the side.

"You look beautiful Riles." Lucas says coming behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist from behind.

"Thanks babe, but I look terrible."

"No you do not at all. You are gorgeous and don't let anyone tell you differently baby."

"Fine."

I head to the door and say bye to my kids. Maya is already waiting for me in the hallway. "Hey Peaches, ready to do some serious dress shopping?" I ask as we walk to the elevator.

"Of course I am! This is going to be an awesome prom I can feel it!" She replies hitting the down button.

Once we get to the store we rush to the dresses and begin picking out probably 5 each before trying them all on.

After trying on dress after dress, and a long time deciding, I decided to go with my first option, that is black and pink.

Maya decides on her 5th option, which is navy and a two piece. We skip out of the shop after paying super excited about what's in our future. We agree to go to Starbucks for a drink before heading home.

"Can I please have a venti double chocolate chip frappuchino." "What's you name?" The barista asks and I reply, "Riley." She nods and I step aside for Maya to order. "I'll get a grande mocha frappuchino for Maya." Maya orders and the barista nods once again turning around to put our cups on the counter for the other workers to make.

After we get our drinks, we sit down at a corner booth across from each other. "So how are things with you and Farkle?" I ask very eager to know how my otp is doing. Yes, yes I am a fangirl when it comes to them.

"Pretty good, how are things between you and Lucas?"

"Wonderful! I would not imagine myself with anyone else to be quite honest!" I squeal just a little answering Maya's question.

"Well that's great, Riles, I am so happy for you! When do you think he is going to propose?"

I stare blankly at her, wondering if she's serious. "Umm, well we are a little young right now. Who knows but I'm sure it will be romantic."

"True, true. I didn't think about that, you two are my one true pair."

"Well you and Farkle are mine." We share a laugh while getting out of our seats and returning to the car to go home.

"I'm home!" I shout opening the apartment door and then shutting it behind me. Lucas appears from the hallway and gives me a smile that I always love. "How was shopping?" He asks walking towards me and taking my bags in his hands and taking them to our room for me.

"Wonderful! We both got a dress." I skip down the hallway after him. "That's great babe!" he hugs me just as our kids come in.

"Mommy! I missed you!" Christine runs up to me and hugs me as I laugh due to the fact that I have only been gone for a few hours.

"How'd the kids behave?" I ask hoping that they gave Lucas at least somewhat of an easy time.

"They were awesome. Josh and I played "Life" while Christine was our 'cheerleader'. You'll never guess who won." Lucas smiles at Josh.

"Josh?"

"How'd you know?" He laughed and joined in with the laughter.

"Lucky guess." I respond giving Lucas a quick peck on his soft lips.

Sorry this is a really crappy chapter. I have mid terms this week and I do not really have time to update but I wanted to since I haven't in almost two weeks. I am having a little writers block with this book so feel free to comment ideas below :)
